On our Med cruise, all aboard was 4PM, safety drill was at 5PM and the sail away party was at 10PM. Nobody was allowed to get off the ship after 4PM. I assume we will work to a similar time table for the Transatlantic.

Corinna

That's what they told me last week when I talked to them too.

Ann:cool2:

That is what confused me - I had to be on the ship at 4 or 5, but we are not leaving till late. I would really like to be able to buy some olives and wine! I don't get in till Saturday morning though. Are they allowing us to get off the boat once we "check in"?

I would suspect once you are checked in on the ship you will not be allowed to get off. If you are going to get olives or anything else, I would suggest you either pick them up yourself or have someone who is arriving earlier pick them up for you. However, if someone knows differently, I would hope they would post that info.

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

Oh you chatters!!!:lmao:

Let's make this kinda short:rotfl:

Welcome all newbies.
Glad that everyone is geting or staying well.
Love the boats! Ours is 24' and weights only 40 lbs, fits on top of our car.:thumbsup2

Walking group, YES. Dh and I are picking a day at sea to do our own 5k..
1st Transatlantic 5k walk run :rotfl: and we're still up for the one on CC.

Happy Mother's day to all the moms everywhere.

I also bring my own pillow! One of thoses heavy duty ones, temperpedic ones. And a small white bear. She goes on all my cruises, I take stupid pics of her at all our ports. Really funny pics for the grandkids.

Cool to see a manatee in the wild ... awesome!

Boy, did I have a stupid day yesterday. Chris Angel(MindFreak) did a stunt here in Havasu. We took the 3 grandkids down to the bridge(London bridge) for the shoot. Holy Cow:scared1: Hundreds of people in 100* sun... very little shade and people passing out everywhere! We finally left at 3, still nothing was done! :headache: I could have been at home pulling weeds!:lmao:

Am I forgetting anything???

Ann:laundy:

I know how frustrating the Chris Angel thing must have been. We went to see the Space Shuttle 2 years ago in 100 degree weather, no breeze, thousands of people. It went up, and if you blinked, forget it - gone! At least it did happen. I told my husband that it was amazing to see, but next time, the TV!! We waited for hours and literally 22 seconds later - over!! Hope the grandkids were not too disappointed.

By the way, dolphingirl, thanks for the info. Do you know why you are not allowed to leave the ship? Oh well, olives in Madiera I guess!

No, this was never explained. I did not ask as I had no intention to get off the ship anyway.

Once you check on... you can leave, BUT once the boat drill is over... no one can leave the ship. That's what DCL said last week. Knowing DCL... that might change too!:rotfl:

Grandkids wernt dissapointed, we came home and saw dozens of short videos in an air conditioned home!:woohoo:

Ann:flower3:

I can't keep up with everyone...

For all the new folks - please be sure to visit our website and get on the roll call. www.transatlanticpirates.com Photos can be emailed to photos@transatlanticpirates.com We are still building out FE groupings - and there is space available. Our cutoff is the end of May, so if you are interested, please be sure to indicate that on your roll call registration as that is the listing that I work off of. I will be posting the latewt groupings later in the week.

Sue, please add us to an FE group :)

I am in the process of uploading my photos from the Med cruise onto Photobucket. Between us we took about 700 photos.

Corinna

We have hundreds of photos from our med cruise last year on the Norwegian Jewel, on FB. Let me know if anyone would like to be added.:thumbsup2

I think we are leaving Barcelona after 9PM. I know a few of us with late dining were thinking about avoiding the dining room so we could do sailaway and see any fireworks that may happen...

Oh, I never thought of that! A very hurried dinner then......:rolleyes1

Should we start a "walking club" or wait to see how the time change affects us, the food and all the activities?

Yes the Manatee was amazing and I am still talking/thinking about it. The only time I ever watched one was at Epcot in the Living Seas.

I am sure this question has been posted before, but what time does the ship leave Barcelona? Is it 5:00 or later?

Everyone's Mother's Day sounds wonderful!
I thought 9pm, my head is so full of stuff I cant mind

I am sure you will still have time.
Anyone know if this is reasonable? We are looking to take a taxi from BCN to the Praktik LasRambla. I am trying to set it up ahead of time so we don't need to wrooy about finding a taxi that will hold the 4 of us and our luggage (up to 4 large and 4 carry ons).

I saw posts about "Barcelona Taxi Van" and was quoted 50 EURO closed (including tax) to make the trip.

Good deal? bad? Average?
We ar just going to grab a taxi van, If we are delayed it is just another stress thing.

Sue, please add us to an FE group :)

Please sign up for roll call and check that you want to be in a FE group. That is where I am pulling all of the info from.

I post the filled groups every week - 10 days.

Doing it this way is easier to track as there is a record of it that never moves - so if I miss a post it doesn't really matter... (well, it does, but, you know...)

Speaking of olives, I assume whatever we buy in Barcelona still has to go on our customs declaration??

If I remember correctly, USA citizens can bring back up to $800 per person without paying any tax. II think it goes up to $1600 if we were returning indirectly from the US Virgin Island.

Anyone know the correct answer?

:surfweb:

Thanks!!

Did you happen to read the post that had the scams listed? OMG! Lesson here is to not let anyone help you.... Stolen purses, luggage (:scared1:) and pick pockets...

We got one of those safe backpacks and Glenn wants to get a slash proof camera strap. I guess we will get a lot of use from the back pack...

Yes, I did, but to be fair folks have tried to scam me all over the world, but still good to read, I have to say I am the most suspicious person ever, must be the scottish in me.(although they did manage in new york and key west):dance3:

5000 post, Ok, my boss would not be impressed with my post count this weekend, but:laughing:

Thanks I have signed up for roll call but not sure where to sign p for FE...I'll go look.....:thumbsup2

Did you also see my post asking for DH and I to be put on the martini and wine tasting groups please? (sorry if I've got the wrong operson....hard to keep track):woohoo:

By the way, once I get my cabin number I will post it because I am a magazine aholic and will bring tons - weight and all, I do not care. I would rather read mags then have enough clothes. When I get done with the mag, I will put in my fish extender if anyone wants. I get everything from Sports Illustrated, Entertainment Weekly, food mags and anything with house decorating, family fun, etc. Being an addict is an understatement.:lmao:

Haha, no jogging for me!!! I'll sit and watch.:rotfl2:

I don't like jogging either, I much rather swimming. I don't think the Capt. would be happy if I jumped of the ship for some swimming in the ocean:cool1:. Swimming in the pools would just mean alot of turns to complete some decent lenghts.

ok for anyone who wants to see them I finally have all my navigators and other info sheets scanned and posted in a facebook album.

Krisann

Thanks:thumbsup2

Well, I asked you all nicely to not chat too much as I was away for a couple of day, and I come home to 10 pages, YES 10 PAGES!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Who are you kidding, 10 pages is just light chatting for this group. If we were at normal chat levels that would have been 20 pages :lmao:

Also on a good or I guess I should say wonderful note. I got the pathology report back from the growth on my pancreas and the report said there was no malignant potential for the cyst. I can not even begin to describe the relief my family and I felt when I read that report. Thank you all for you support through this.

Donna

That's great news:goodvibes

Can we have a special group for this please Jon?:worship:

Michael can lead the morning group. I'll cover the afternoon sessions :thumbsup2

5000 post, Ok, my boss would not be impressed with my post count this weekend, but:laughing:

Congrats :worship:

Corinna,

My mom said that on her Med cruise, there was a shopping area to buy wine, etc. after check-in and security but before boarding the ship. Was that the case when you were there?

Michael

Sounds an expensive but enjoyable hobby. I can never get over how much it is for a thick glossy magazine!
Perhaps you will get to 10,000 by the time the cruise comes along!!:lmao:

better get started then, every body on this thread is groaning:rotfl:

Oh believe me, I don't spend that much money on these things. It is airline mileage I won't use, Girl Scouts selling subscriptions or if you wait long enough for your magazines, sometimes they will offer a 2 for 1. Buy Bon Appetit and get this one for free! I am an expert by this time.
