Well we got some incredible amazing wonderful news today-----we learned from our TA that the prices on the Med portion of our B2B trip were dropped significantly (and I mean like a LOT!!) and that even though we are already paid in full...that DCL is going to refund us the difference!! What was just a downright embarrassingly expensive trip has now been reduced to just being exorbitant!

It's a real nice surprise when this happens.

The TO DO list is growing faster than I can DO them!!!

I have a "To Do" list as well. But, Candida gave up on adding things to it cuz, I don't get the tasks on the list done as it is.

Congrats to all those who are PIF. We were hoping to join the club sooner rather than later but doesn't look like that is going to happen. We have been without a contract since Dec 2008, now as of yesterday talks have ceased and we are going to an arbitrator which won't be until at least June 4 Oh, well we are going even if the contract isn't settled.

There is a kids thread. I gave my laptop to Stephen, but it has a built in cmera and I ave a skype account. I use this at work all the time. We can certainly post to the kids thread - hope that phonetic spelling is ok... But if you feel adventerous let me know and we can try the webcams.

Thanks about the costumes. I got mine at Pyramidcollection.com (It was on sale and I found a coupon) - they have some pretty neat stuff (all sorts fo stuff!. I also looked at http://www.tudordressing.com/ and they have a lot of period clothing.

Hi Everybody! I haven't been on the boards because we cancelled the trip back in January, but we rebooked and so excited! It is just my DD (13) and I. My DH couldn't get that much time off, that is why we originally cancelled but we decided just the two of us will go because we were so excited to read about the EB TA. I love the Cinco de Mayo table and Becca's outfit and beyond that I have not read, but I am sure a lot is happening.

We have our travel through Disney so we do not arrive in Barcelona until Saturday morning. I would like to be on the FE list again, but if that is too late, I understand. I am going to go back to Page 1 and read the first thread with all the info. I look forward to meeting everyone!!!!

Yep! That's us too! Except we are flying United from Denver to Newark. I hope you don't have to sit by us! No promises that Logan won't be crying on the plane. I'm planning on starting to change their schedule the week before. So, hopefully both kids will sleep on the flight.

Well I guess I will see you in Newark on Sept 17!!! We are in row 12 A&B.....do I need to bring ear plugs ..... DH can sleep anytime, I on the other hand will be lucky to get any sleep with or without kids crying....I hope to stay busy sightseeing in Barcelona when we get there so I really need to get a little nap.

I purchased our trip insurance today. What else is there to do..... I feel like we are running out of time, but really we have awhile to wait still.

I keep marking things off of my to-do-list and end up adding more to it!!! I also feel like I am running out of time, but it is still 18 1/2 weeks until I leave.....I would feel so much better knowing it was all done a couple weeks before the trip tho!!

What day are you flying? We are leaving on 9/15 -Flint to Cleveland to Newark to Barcelona on Continental.

We fly out on Sept 16 so you will be getting there a day before us.....

There are a bunch of new cruisers coming on. Is there anyway to hold off until PIF date? Or would this cause too many problems?

On the EBTA we needed like 340 and we ended up ordering 500 because to buy 326 it is the same price as 500. This allowed us to keep adding people to the list clear up the last week before when people came out of the wood work! The late comers were not promised name inserts but could get the lanyard! It really was nice to be able to give this gift to "late comers". That being said, I have no idea how many are on this cruise but if you can/want to order the extras I would be glad to haul those to Spain and be the extra lanyard girl - this way you would still have the control of the assigned lanyards. It was fun having extras to hand out to cast members and some people wanted them for scrapbooking, etc. Just offering to help.

We did a sanity check on luggage weights, and I am actually doing OK. We are bringing 4 larger suitcases and 4 carry ons plus have the ability to do a personal bag for each of us.

are you flying around Europe any? many of those airlines do not allow a personal bag and a carry on! We found out the hard way - also they weigh your carry on - just an FYI - check the details out closely.

Can you tell me who you choose? I have been looking at travel insurance at a web site that has numerious companies listed. I also have a brochure from AAA.

Nope - ATL to Barcelona and have confirmed luggage with both Delta and AF (we bought code share tickets) and we are good. As long as it fints in the rental car to make the drive from PC to ATL, we are golden, and we are renting a van, so we should be good...

Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking for awhile just reading posts and such until I finally decided to post. Love the costumes. I've been debating if to pack a pirate costume. DH is not big on costumes. The last Disney cruise we took the most he would wear was a pirate inspired T-shirt. I wore my Mickey Mouse ears/pirate hat--but who knowes where that is now. I'm still tempted though..

Just wear whatever makes you comfortable. You could dress up a bit (or alot!) and your DH could still do the pirate t-shirt if he wants. You will see a bit of everything and it is ALL GOOD!!

Well honestly since I've been delayed in ordering the actual lanyards because I'm waiting on some folks to confirm their info...I already HAVE been PMing folks who join the boards recently to ask if they want lanyards and some have been responding. I was also actually planning on ordering a set number of extra lanyards that are unspoken for....and allowing on a first come, first serve basis letting folks who sign up later or even closer to the sail date for those lanyards (and if there are extras, then usually you split them up amongst lanyard team members and let them give them to their favorite CM's on the ship, etc.)

So I have built in the ability to get some of the folks who get on at the last minute an opportunity to get lanyards. My biggest stress is that because I'm doing the B2B AND we're going to Orlando for almost a week prior to that even...time is less on my side than it would normally be for a Sept. 18th cruise.

I need to have the lanyards in hand sooner rather than later because I still have to actually figure out exactly how we're getting them to Barcelona. My ideal is that they are not too bulky or heavy and we can fit them all in one backpack that jason carries as his carry-on. He never has a carry-on when we travel TO our trips---specifically so that he can have one on the return trip if we need an extra carry-on on the way home because we bought too much! So my hope is that we can fill his carry on with lanyards (and dare I hope fish extender gifts, too?? ), which we will be rid of once we're on the trip and then fill that carry on with souvenirs on the way home. If that plan doesn't work then we have to figure out what to do....finding room in our luggage (and I'm more likely to develop a cure for cancer to be honest ) or maybe splitting up the lanyards and sending small packages of them out to various volunteers from this thread who have generously offered to carry them over for us---or maybe even figuring out if I can ship them to myself at the hotel where we're staying prior to the cruise. These options are not my ideal because I'm a control freak and I feel more comfortable having the lanyards in my possession the whole time-----so that I"m sure they arrive and they are all there at the port and/or on deck when I need them to distribute.....

.....aaaaaaaah!! The stress of it all!

If you are serious about shipping them to Spain, there could be a lag time due to customs. However, I work for a company that has offices all over... Let me see if there is a way to get a business package to spain - if it can be done I will PM the information!

Do you have any idea on when you will have them in hand?

I should have the lanyards in my hands by mid-June, end of June at the latest. Shipping them might be a possibility....but I had the same concerns about customs, delivery, etc. I am definitely going to have to do some research and explore options, though.

Hmmm....yeah I do def. see the logic there.....however even 326 will be a lot of extras for this group...that's over 100 extras because right now there are only 216 names on the lanyard list and I am 99% sure that at least 10 of those are people who don't actually want/need lanyards anymore...so I think we're right around the 200 mark at this point-----so ordering 500 lanyards would just be a ridiculous number of extras I think! I was thinking of buying like 50 extras so I'd have some to give last minute joiners....so I was shooting for getting somewhere between 250 and 275 lanyards total depending on where my final count ends up in the next several days.

yes actually 2 claims - on Travelex and Travelguard (long story) - but they both have been wonderful! I have not finished my claim process due to my basement flooding - I will finish the travel claims next week.
