Great costumes you both have.

The legging is looking good under it.

So, I will take the DIS advice and look for a brown leotard (like she has for gymnastics) and brown leggings...

Yikes - another to do...

Sue

Two other quick posts:

First, I can't imagine the maids in a hotel even touching anything. I think the Westin should give you some other compensation besides replacing your items.

Second, I loved Becca's costume. How about a full underslip for her to wear that would keep the fabric from touching her skin?

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

You would think that they would have comped the room - ir given you vouchers for a stay at another time - or even location...

Thanks for the slip advice - I haven't thought along those times...

This is why I love the DIS! So many great ideas, and people to plan and scheme with!

DH and I want to try the Pelican Plunge on CC. Anyone else?

I think that I will be in loine with my DS! I can't wait to check it all out... I am also hoping that the kids will want to hang out with friends and Glenn and I will get to visit the big kids area for the first time...

....information continues to roll in for Lanyards. I am now only missing about a dozen people's confirmations:

alexturner74
Dis-Bits
figment795 & tigger795
Harvey
jewelmicky
KAP158
KellyJeanDVC
LadyPoo
OKWJim
Sue L
YodaMouse

And based on information others have shared it really seems like: alexturner74, Dis-Bits, Harvey KellyJeanDVC & Sue L are probably all still aboard but just haven't replied to me yet....and that jewelmicky is definitely off the cruise. That really leaves me only 5 more traveling parties who are still question marks on my list! Things are finally coming together!!! :thumbsup2

I have also PM'd Harvey for the FE and haven't heard back, and I haven't seen posts from him either. The others were not i=oin a FE list, so sorry, I can't help with those.

Well honestly since I've been delayed in ordering the actual lanyards because I'm waiting on some folks to confirm their info...I already HAVE been PMing folks who join the boards recently to ask if they want lanyards and some have been responding. I was also actually planning on ordering a set number of extra lanyards that are unspoken for....and allowing on a first come, first serve basis letting folks who sign up later or even closer to the sail date for those lanyards (and if there are extras, then usually you split them up amongst lanyard team members and let them give them to their favorite CM's on the ship, etc.)

So I have built in the ability to get some of the folks who get on at the last minute an opportunity to get lanyards. My biggest stress is that because I'm doing the B2B AND we're going to Orlando for almost a week prior to that even...time is less on my side than it would normally be for a Sept. 18th cruise.

I need to have the lanyards in hand sooner rather than later because I still have to actually figure out exactly how we're getting them to Barcelona. My ideal is that they are not too bulky or heavy and we can fit them all in one backpack that jason carries as his carry-on. He never has a carry-on when we travel TO our trips---specifically so that he can have one on the return trip if we need an extra carry-on on the way home because we bought too much! :lmao: So my hope is that we can fill his carry on with lanyards (and dare I hope fish extender gifts, too??), which we will be rid of once we're on the trip and then fill that carry on with souvenirs on the way home. If that plan doesn't work then we have to figure out what to do....finding room in our luggage (and I'm more likely to develop a cure for cancer to be honest :lmao:) or maybe splitting up the lanyards and sending small packages of them out to various volunteers from this thread who have generously offered to carry them over for us---or maybe even figuring out if I can ship them to myself at the hotel where we're staying prior to the cruise. These options are not my ideal because I'm a control freak and I feel more comfortable having the lanyards in my possession the whole time-----so that I"m sure they arrive and they are all there at the port and/or on deck when I need them to distribute.....

.....aaaaaaaah!! The stress of it all! ;)

If you are serious about shipping them to Spain, there could be a lag time due to customs. However, I work for a company that has offices all over... Let me see if there is a way to get a business package to spain - if it can be done I will PM the information!

Do you have any idea on when you will have them in hand?

Sue, I love, love, love your costumes! :worship:
And to think I thought we could get away with some pirate / skull head t-shirts! I better step it up a notch!!!
Becca is adorable, I would just get some leggings for her to wear underneath.
Lucy has actually been pestering me about a dress with a big skull on the front and some sequined leggings, I think I'll have to give in and get her them. Luggage space is becoming harder to find! We will be fine after I get rid of all my FE's though ;), have to have room for USA shopping! :goodvibes

I did Beccas costume through Amazon - but to be honest I googled Pirate Costumes and found a place that had tons - http://www.buycostumes.com/browse/P...F=KNC-google&gclid=CIXDlO_-vqECFRSfnAoddzEz_w - and the pricing wasn't bad. I didn't go the costume route, I did a dress from a renaissance place. It was on sale, and I couldn't resist.

We did a sanity check on luggage weights, and I am actually doing OK. We are bringing 4 larger suitcases and 4 carry ons plus have the ability to do a personal bag for each of us.

Worse comes to worse, you could send the girls costumes to me and I can bring them...

Hey - becca wants to know if you can be on TV in the computer. This is her way of saying webcam... LOL gotta love the little kids... If you do, maybe we can introduce the kids over the web... What is the time difference?

ok - is it just me that can't seem to multi-reply-post? I can't get it to work. And it isn't that I am aiming for part 6 - although we are a chatty group, so maybe we will get there even if I figure out how to multi-reply-post...

happy Friday everyone!

Sue

When you belong to the DIS....it is who you know!! :cool1:

I'm not having trouble with the multi quote option.

The TO DO list is growing faster than I can DO them!!!

We looked at a few USA sites for costumes, the problem is they either don't ship to Australia or the shipping costs more than the costumes! :scared1:
I just ordered her the skull one, It's quite cute -
http://www.jettroc.com/inside.just_4_girls.ews?just_4_girls.ewdid=89
and Bella is quite girly, she's not into the whole pirate thing, so I ordered her this one - http://www.jettroc.com/inside.just_4_girls.ews?just_4_girls.ewdid=56 I will make her a matching bandana and eye patch.

Thanks, We'll be fine with luggage, I am happy to bring anything over if I get to leave it there, We have an allowance of 8 bags and 4 cabin bags, I just want to keep at least 4 bags (suitcases) free for shopping! :rotfl:
So, the FE's and food items are fine because I get to unload them on board!

We do have a camera in my laptop, and I have Skype messaging, But I have never used the 'TV in the Computer'. I am not very tech savvy at all!!!
Is there somewhere they can send each other messages, Could we start a thread?

:scared1:

WELCOME!!!!

We sleep so well on the Magic also. I cannot wait to get back into MY bed!! :goodvibes:cloud9:

:confused3

Very cute costumes!! Becca is adorable. I don't like itchy either.... Leggings will be fine and will keep her a bit warmer at the deck party.
Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking for awhile just reading posts and such until I finally decided to post. Love the costumes. I've been debating if to pack a pirate costume. DH is not big on costumes. The last Disney cruise we took the most he would wear was a pirate inspired T-shirt. I wore my Mickey Mouse ears/pirate hat--but who knowes where that is now. I'm still tempted though..

This is my problem as well!

Very cute! I shopped the sales for Becca at Easter and scored $10 dresses that had been $70. So, she has about 8 dresses to bring - 4 dressy and 4 more casual. She is set unless she really grows. Stephen is going to be the hard one to shop for... He hates trying things on...

There is a kids thread. I gave my laptop to Stephen, but it has a built in cmera and I ave a skype account. I use this at work all the time. We can certainly post to the kids thread - hope that phonetic spelling is ok... :) But if you feel adventerous let me know and we can try the webcams.

DH and I want to try the Pelican Plunge on CC. Anyone else?

Heck yes! Glad there aren't many kids on board, I hate competition for this type of thing

:welcome: to those just joining us!

 to those now PIF

My weekend plan is to repack my suitcase, I think I have too much stuff and I'm doing FE gift planning. ;)

Someone asked, so here it is... Beccas costume was "itching" her so she had leggins on... Mental not to self to find a way to either soften the costume, or get leggins or tights that match... Any hints on softening it??

pirategirlssmall.jpg

Love your costumes Sue. I would definitely go for some lightweight brown leggings with Becca's outfit to remove the itchy issues ... she looks gorgeous.

Posting for my mom (Tru) who is right here beside me: She's PIF!:banana::banana:

Congratulations Trudy :woohoo::woohoo:

Tables ready a for Cinco de Mayo celebration:
CincodeMayo.jpg

CincodeMayo2.jpg

Your table looks wonderful ... not quite sure what Cinco de Mayo represents though or what it is you are celebrating but it looks Mexican themed.

Well we got some incredible amazing wonderful news today-----we learned from our TA that the prices on the Med portion of our B2B trip were dropped significantly (and I mean like a LOT!!) and that even though we are already paid in full...that DCL is going to refund us the difference!! What was just a downright embarrassingly expensive trip has now been reduced to just being exorbitant! :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Great news. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I would love a renaissance style pirate costume but they are difficult to get hold of in the UK. May have to get one from USA. Can you recommend any good sites to look at?

Those dresses are really cute :goodvibes

Well, glad we paid the cruise off last week as with the election results so far the exchange rate is abysmal!!! We already had some dollars so ok for this trip. Still need Euros, but not too much of a problem.

Going to be fun government wise for a while me thinks.;)

John stayed up till the early hours, but I always have that feeling what will be will be so went off to bed, but I couldn't wait to get up this morning and see what had happened!!!! It is going to be very interesting isn't it?
