"The newest Walt Disney Pictures theatrical release “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” debuts today onboard the Disney Wonder! First-run movies another Disney Cruise Line difference".

Just noticed this on FB!! Cant wait to see this movie. Any guesses as to what we might have on board? Seems a new move to have new released movies!

I hope to go see this tomorrow :thumbsup2 I hope we will get Toy Story 3 on our cruise, and I hope thay have some older films such as Princess and the Frog which I have deliberately avoided watching this so I can see it on the ship. Would love to see Alice in Wonderland again too.

Back from the doctors, I won't know anything till late next week - UGH!

The waves in the Med are amazing. I don't know why, but I always think that a sea has no waves. It is a mental thing. I live in Florida and they have REALLY been talking about the bad hurricane season ahead. I know the captain will keep us safe. Hurricane season starts on Tuesday! I have to stock up on my water and canned food (yuck!) I got my generator and we are ready to go for that!

Madeira. Our friends booked with this company. I believe they booked the second tour(95Euros), but there seem to be plenty. They had 8 people, so i guess a mini bus????? This page is the cruise ship link. They really enjoyed it.

This is a little posted by the lady who booked it on a thread.

In Madeira, I booked a group with Daniel, too. I was really impressed with them. I had lots of questions beforehand so, multiple emails. Eusebia was always very prompt and pleasant in answering them. The driver was very knowledgeable and took us to most of the same places DCL goes. They have very clean, newer, Mercedes (I think) vans. All of Madeira was very clean, too. They did a great job of cleaning up after the flood they had earlier this year. We did a 4-4.5 hour tour so we were back to the ship in plenty of time for dinner. They charge based on how big the van is. I think we had 8 and it ended up being 22 euros or so. I just gave 25. It was a great day!

Is anyone considering doing this tour?

Okay, I am back to the doctors for ANOTHER blood test and to sign papers to release my reports from my neurologist. UGH! I hate this, a long weekend and I won't be thinking about anything else. Why do doctors do this? Donna I know you understand and it just gets you unnerved. Now I am in a bad mood. Thanks for letting me vent!!.

I feel for you. I hope the best for you. Try to enjoy each day and not stress until you need to. Have a wonderful 3 day weekend.

Is anyone considering doing this tour?
It sounds very interesting. Will talk to the rest of my group this weekend and see what they think. Thank you for sharing.

We are considering it but also want to do the cable car and Tobaggan if that is possible???

Just my thoughts...
:surfweb:

The tour takes you to Monte where the toboggan run starts. Not sure if they did it though, will have to ask.

There was an option to do the toboggan run but they were a wimpy group!! It is Monica who did the tour. She said have a chat with the company as they were very accommodating and very flexible.

I will do. Tell Monica thank you for the input!!

I remember reading the thread that mentioned Daniel Taxis, too, which piqued my curiosity. I need to look into it more, but likely, I would be interested in one of the tours. I have yet to read up on them to know which one I want to participate in, however. It would be great to go as a DIS family. :)

Does anyone know how to find out what other ships will be in port that day?

.....And thanks so much to those who are investing so much time and energy into making our cruise such a fantastic community. It is a sure success already, so who only knows what we will end up with.......a rip roaring best cruise thread ever success to be sure!

Amen!!

Back from the doctors, I won't know anything till late next week - UGH!.....

 I hope you can keep busy this holiday weekend so you don't dwell on the waiting too much.

Funny story, We have some close family friends ( I kid her that bathing with me as a kid turned her Gay, :rotfl:) that got married (not legally) here a few months ago. It didn't even occur to me to explain to my 2 DD that it was 2 girls getting married. So we go to the wedding, the girls walk down the aisle and DD8 whispers to me "Mum, Is it a gay wedding", and I say "yes darling, it is", she has a little giggle and doesn't bring it up again (BTW, don't know where she'd even heard the word Gay? School!). Until....after school on Monday the teacher says to me "So, I heard you went to a wedding on the weekend, Thanks, I had to explain to the entire grade 2 class what gay was!". She's a great teacher and wasn't upset with me, just thought it was funny that my DD was so casual about her weekly Show and Tell story being a 'gay' wedding. :lmao:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I think we managed to understand you both ok, although you do have to concentrate a bit more. I had a good grounding as I shared a cabin with a girl from Glasgow when I worked for Princess and had to learn to understand her, which wasn't too difficult unless she was drunk or over-excited :rotfl:

We will be a bit of a let down as although we are officially "Welsh" we don't have a strong Welsh accent in coastal North Wales, plus we both had mostly English parents. So I think we should be easy to understand ( correct me if you don't agree Lynne!)

:lmao:well Im not making any promises:lmao:

Feeling sorry for myself today as I am full of hayfever. Eyes are watering like mad, and my head feels full of cotton wool (mind you that's nothing new! ;)).....the down side of summer I suppose :confused3

...so instead I shall count my many blessings! :)

Happy Friday everyone!:littleangel:
Hay fever is horrid, hope you feel a bit better soon.
Welcome Back Michelle - my saying about computers and how little I understand, is that cookies are best eaten!!!!

Sarah - congrats to your son. Keep us posted on his grades!!!!

Erik - from all these posts, you must see how much you are adored by all your Disfamily!!!! :grouphug:

I know there was something I wanted to say about hooking reservations together to eat, but I forget right now. I will think of it.
its naf having to wait it out for drs reports.
If anyone wants to be a little bit scared this evening just check out the videos of the waves on Corinna's trip report ... :scared1::scared1:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=36798484&postcount=136

and all the time I have been telling myself that the Med part of the cruise will be fine because the Med is landlocked and therefore a calm sea. I think I would have freaked out if I had to deal with that sort of a storm :scared1:

Think I will give it a miss:rolleyes1

Had a busy busy day, see ya all real soon.

I am finally getting around to make my dinner reservations for our post cruise stay. So far I have gotten everything I wanted within 15 minutes of the time I want. So far I have booked breakfast and dinner at The Wave, breakfast at Ohana and dinner at Narcoossee's. I am also hoping for breakfast at Chef Mickey's and dinner at Artist Point, Jiko and California Grill. I better get on with this.

Corina

We have also made all our ADR's, Our look a little different to yours, lol, we have kids! Therefore we have CRT, T-Rex, 50's Primetime, Boma, Les Chefs de France, Yak and Yeti, Crystal Palace, Spirit of Aloha, Cape Mays, Teppan Edo and Ohana's. We have never been to the Wave, Artists Point, Narcoossee's or Jiko, are they kid friendly? Why did you choose them? Always looking for new food recommendations, after all, It is my favourite activity! :rotfl:

I hear you, except I get hayfever in Autumn (Fall), which is now here and I wake up full of it every morning. Good thing it eases of during the day. Taking an antihistamine every day / second day seems to help me.:thumbsup2

Just wanted to pop in and say 'HI!'.

We are totally looking forward to the cruise and have been slowly getting ready. We've got our door decorations going, our Secret Mickey and FEs started, and I'm putting stuff away for the cruise. We even started using our stash of DCL shampoo and conditioner to get all senses into the mood!

Have a great day/night/sleep/morning!

Carolynn
Hi Carolynn, Great to hear from you. Sounds like your well on you way with planning. Great idea with the shampoo stash, I have some from WDW, Is it the same stuff? I haven't used it, just the kids. I might try it and see how my hair reacts. :scared1: Anything to save on lugagge space!

pirate:

OK, there is so much IPad talk. I have the 3GS IPhone and a Mac Book Air. Do I need an IPad? I'm not tech savvy enough to understand all the lingo, but if it's going to do something cool or make my life easier, I might need one? :confused3;):confused3

Hi Everyone,

You know I was just sitting here thinking about how lucky I feel at the moment. I have this great cruise to look forward to, with all kinds of interesting and great people from all around the world, I think I may have talked my mum into joining us and my husband is watering the lawn / kids out the back and their laughter is echoing all around. So much to be grateful for. :grouphug:

:)michelle

Lovely to hear from you Michelle. I like your way of looking at the world when it's so easy to forget just how lucky we are. :thumbsup2

Very well said Corinna, I agree completely. :thumbsup2
I can't wait to be dining with fellow DISers. Plus I love to hear so many accents and maybe I'll learn to tell the difference between Australian and British accents. :duck: :lmao:

Dan
We always get mistaken for British when we are in America! :lmao:
Some people don't even know where Australia is, I had one girl ask me if it was in the "banana republic", no, I'm not joking! I just say it's "downunder, like Steve Irwin". :rotfl:

Erik - from all these posts, you must see how much you are adored by all your Disfamily!!!! :grouphug:

I agree Eric, I haven't seen so many posts about one subject for a long time, Your obviously welcome and celebrated by this group.:grouphug:
Sandi, Try not to think of all your test results, there is nothing you can do to change them, and a weekend of worry and stress is no good for you. I know it's easier said than done. :flower3:

for the latter just ask them to say about. If it sounds like "a boot" then they're canadian:rotfl2:
:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Who mentioned big waves?? Looks like they are predicting a bad storm year.

I look forward to meeting you. While I was stationed in Germany, we went to "Niederlande" (Netherlands) Sprechen Sie deutsch (Do you speak German)? Zo niet, wij zullen ons best doen om te leren uw taal. Wij willen graag te leren over uw cultuur ook (If not, we will do our best to learn your language. We would like to learn about your culture also). My ex-sister in law is danish as well so I think we may feel at home with you guys.

Goede nacht en zoete dromen (Good night and sweet dreams)[/QUOTE]

I speak german (duits) a little bit but understand it good.
Habe sie ein guten tag ( heeft u een goede dag), Do you have a nice (great) day.

The translateprogram is putting the words not in the write place, but i understand it.

Dank u voor de lieve woorden (Thank you for the kind words):dance3:

Hey guys...my DW and I are flying on to Barcelona from JFK...we have our air through Disney....Never have flown using DCL booking our airfare....now it seems some of you guys are getting their flights....how do you get them? Does DCL call and give you your flights or do you just see it on the website when you sign into your reservation?
Thanks!

Tom & Marilou

Hi. I posted recently about getting my flight assignments through DCL. Here's my story. Back in March, I send an "air deviation" request to DCL because I wanted to make sure that me & my husband were on the same flights with my brother & sis-in-law. When the response came back, it was going to cost us $350 EACH to assure that we fly together. I called DCL Air Deviation and had a 30 min conversation with a VERY helpful representative. Since I had her ear, I asked all kinds of questions and she answered as she could. Bottom line, we decided not to "deviate" our original ressie and take the chance that we would all fly together (she had said 'they couldn't guaranty flights would be together but since we were a small party chances were we would fly together'). She told me that since we weren't going forward with the air deviation, we wouldn't find out our flights until sometime mid to late July. Much to my surprise -- and excitement -- I got home from work on Tuesday to find a phonemail message from the same woman saying our air had been booked and they were sending me an email with the flight information. I think that she was just a very thoughtful representative who must have seen notes in our record about our prior calls/questions. If you want the phone number for the deviation department (and her name) PM me and I'll be happy to share it with you. We are flying out on the red eye on 9/17 from JFK -- 5:45 p.m. direct to Barcelona --arriving at 7:55 a.m.:cheer2:

Throwing another idea out to the group....

Is there any interest in accumulating info about flights going into BCN? I was considering a list referencing your departure date and city, airline, and arrival time. That might be TMI for some to share, which is perfectly fine. I just thought it would help facilitate early DIS meets on the planes or at baggage claim as well as ground transportation coordination.

Thoughts????

Looks like just us, at the moment anyway!!

Oh thank you, Marilyn!!! I'll bookmark that this time!
