Hello fellow WB cruisers....my DW and I have been on 22 Disney cruises but none quite like this one coming up.....we have always gotten the Magic or the Wonder in Florida so it will be so different flying to Barcelona and then joining the Magic....we have done everything through Disney so we have no idea the specifics of our flights just yet....heck....we have a GTY stateroom so we have no idea where we will be on the ship....but we WILL BE ON the ship and that is all that matters. I am 57 and DW is 53.....and so looking forward to a 14 day voyage....If you guys could kind of catch us up to speed on the goings on it would be appreciated....cause it would probably take months to read the whole threat from the beginning.
We are so looking forward to joining you all for this fabulous cruise!
Tom & Marilou

Welcome! :cheer2: Dennis is 65 and I am 60.....young for our ages though! :rotfl::rotfl2::laughing::lmao:

As others said, first page has lots and lots of info. Sign up for as much or as little as you like. :thumbsup2

I took a good look at the volume of work in my job:surfweb::surfweb: for the months of Sept and Oct and I have decided for my own sanity that it wouldn't be a good idea to take off for two weeks the end of Sept. I am so sad right now but hopefully we will get to cruise together sometime in the future I am actually thinking about the May 2011 EBTA.

Have a wonderful cruise everyone. I will still be reading all your posts and may pop in once in awhile to say "HI":):)

So sorry. :sad1: Next trip though. Same for us on the 2007 TA, had to cancel and now we are going!!! :woohoo:

Hello Everyone, I haven't been on for while due health, moving and funerals. I see we got to a new thread. Does anyone think I should go back to finish the last thread i was on page 235 to get caught up? Or do you all just want to give the highlights? Thankx Karen

Just jump in (read the posts on the first page) and you will be fine. We chat alot, but someone manages to capture the important stuff and move it to the first page......not that our daily chatter is not important!! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Haven't signed on for a couple of days and had a hard time finding you.

Yesterday I had an endoscopic ultrasound and biopsy of the growth on my pancreas and can you believe after the third test it is still not 100% certain that it is not a cancerous growth. The good news is the doctor was able to drain all the fluid off the growth and they will have the results in a couple of days. He did say he is almost 100% certain it is a benign cyst, but it has to be watched on a yearly basis if the biosy results are negative. He seemed pretty positive so I have decided I am not going to worry about it and take it as it comes. I am just tired of having tests done. This was test number 4. I did tell him if the biopsy is positive he has to get me so I travel for this cruise and he said he did not see why we cold not do that. Just thinking positive thoughts.

Because of everything I have been going through with this Joi told me to upgrade us from a cat 9 to a cat 5 so I did and paid in full. I am really looking forward to this cruise.

Donna
Sounds like good news to me!! :grouphug::grouphug:

I think you have some good choices. Of course if you like plants then the botanical Gardens is supposed to be lovely. We didn't get there, but went up the cable car to Monte where the toboggan run is(didn't ride), and walked in the Tropical Gardens. The botanical Gardens is close by via another cable car I believe. Our friends enjoyed there.

We had a car, but I got very tense driving(as a passenger!) around the tiny hairpin roads and ended up with really bad back pain, so we didn't drive far after that.

Thanks for the ideas. We want to do the cable car when the toboggan run is located. I don't want the hassle of a car for just a few hours.

DH and I were at the "first" showing of the parade at Disneyland. Everyone was pulling a wagon behind them with big batteries to light up the floats and their clothing. Needless to say... it improved !:lmao:
And we were at the last showing of the parade:sad1:
So now we see the shorter version of it at CA.:woohoo:

Lynne... thanks. The race was abit tough, we had wind. And you'll be seeing me do the first Transatlantic 5K !!!:lmao: About 10 laps around the ship should do.pirate:

Welcome back Pam!!!
Ann :cheer2:

How cool to see the first one at Disneyland!!!

I just love the flowers of spring, don't you?

Beautiful picture!!!!

Wishing you the best! I know how stressful all the not knowing can be!

This will be a work in progress. I will be adding to it as I get a chance and/or someone else posts something about Gibraltar. So please pardon the construction dust!

Thanks for jump starting me on this!!! I'll take all the info I can get!! :)

I'm having one of those "I feel old" days.
LOL

Ruby just up and got a job, y'all!
LOL
I wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly.......
She's piddling along not wanting to make the effort to finish the driving course (online) and take the driving test to get her license- and we got her the car for Christmas- she could have got her license almost 2mo ago... if she'd got on the ball!
(what kid doesn't want to drive as soon as they can- especially when they have a car handed to them? what is wrong with this girl? LOL)
so I thought- I'm gonna make her get a job now, instead of get the license first.... and maybe if she's riding her bike to work enough times she'll get motivated to get her license. so I picked up an app today... took it home, she filled it out... and her dad was taking her for a "driving lesson" (she learned how to drive his suburban just fine- but she's still "mastering" how to drive her car... standard. LOL) and I thought- why don't you drop the application off while you're at it?

Next thing I know Jeff is calling me from the car telling me they hired her on the spot and she starts Friday morning!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1: Now I have 2 days to get her pants, belt, shoes and a polo she has to wear until they can get her a uniform shirt on Monday. Holy macaroni...... wasn't expecting that.
(and I'd stapled to her application a paper listing all the dates she can't work- like for spring formal, church camp this summer, week she's volunteering at the zoo this summer, our WBTA vacation, etc. Apparently even needing all those dates off didn't shy them off from hiring her LOL)

so yeah uh..... I'm gonna have a chlid that is WORKING in a couple of days.
So it's an "I feel old" kind of day.
LOL

There is a hop on/ hop off bus in Madeira. Looks like it is 12 euro pp. I haven't researched this so I'm not sure how good it is, but one of the posters on the Live from TA thread mentioned using the hop on bus.

Map of bus route (says the alternative route, not sure if they are back to normal yet):

Thanks for all the links. DH John is putting together a cruise playbook for us with all the options.

A big job I know, but is there any way we can have all the wonderful information Kathy and Noel have provided to be saved somewhere? It will be hard finding it later.

Originally, I was thinking that a person could volunteer to gather the information together that was posted by the group on a particular port and just keep adding to a post.... like the one I started for Gibraltar... and just link to the port posts on one of the page 1 posts.

Now after posting as little as I did for Gibraltar, I can see that that post is going to be humongous.

Do you think we can start separate threads for each of the ports???

If we can, would we do it here in meets or on the main board?

Seems like it would be nice if we had a ports board instead of each cruise doing the same work all over again!

Comments? Ideas?

I am in the mood for posting a few family pics. Here is a pic my DH John took of me, my SIL Sheryl and my SIL's mother Liz at Easter.

I love those table decorations .... have never thought of decorating for easter but those are really cute. Did you make them?

Sorry to hear that you are going through the ordeal and uncertainty of tests again Donna. Sending :hug::hug: and :wizard: that everything comes back positive with the results. Good news on the upgrade, definitely something to look forward to.

Disney is so good at this! Wish I was stranded there!

me too ......
So happy to find out that my friend Laura aka eeyorelvr10, will be on this cruise with us. She has been booked but was not sure if she was going to be able to go. I first met Laura in 2006 on the 11 night Southern and we have been "cross country" friends ever since and have sailed every September together since then...Matter of fact we sailed on the WBTA in 2007 together....Now to just help get her signed up for all the fun activities!!!!

Great news Pam :thumbsup2

Welcome back Karen .... sorry to hear you have been through difficult times recently  Page 1 should fill you in on all the activites and events we have planned so far.

:woohoo:

Today I woke up post nightshift, I seen a plane flying past, i shouted, look look !!!

It was the ONLY one to arrive in edinburgh nearly all day and I spotted it:rolleyes1
NOT that I plane spot all day or anything

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Still emptu skies over us this morning .... and we are on a flight path for Liverpool airport. It has been so strange seeing no vapour trails during all these clear days.

I'm having one of those "I feel old" days.

Thanks for the ideas. We want to do the cable car when the toboggan run is located. I don't want the hassle of a car for just a few hours.

If the weather is nice you could walk along the promenade to the cable car, but if time is an element, then the hop on bus mentioned would be better, then you would have time for something else. Photo opportunities from the cable car are very good!!!

How about just noting post numbers(and threads if we move on again as no doubt we will) so we can find them if necessary?

Hi just read a post on the main cruise line board that someone from the UK has had an e mail from amazon UK that they cannot get any copies of Passporters DCL 2010 and they are dropping it from the listings. We had a copy ordered and wonderimg if anyone else has heard anything,

DW has not heard anything apart from one saying they were experiencing a delay with the publisher.

Happy sunny morning everyone!
Bright and sunny but chilly here. I'm sat in the garden looking up for jet trails still (we're close to the Heathrow flight path here)....not seen any yet.......

Hope everyone has a good day!:flower3:

Last year when we did our med cruise we used the HOHO buses in Barcelona, Malaga and Lisbon and thought they were great. It's an ideal way of getting an overview of the city when you're only there for a short while:woohoo:

An to you as well.

Bright and sunny here as well, at least I think so, when I got up at 4am to bike into work it wasn't raining so I assume it is going to be a sunny day.:lmao:

Nice 40k ride in. It was a good say for it. From one great lake to another along the canal.
