It was going to be a quiet weekend ending on Sunday with a wine dinner at D'land and then an overnight stay at Paradise Pier Hotel; one of our dogs thought differently though (well, it actually took 2 of them). After having an ultrasound for puppies last month and not seeing any, our older girl decided she would have some anyway.

Early this morning she whelped a litter of 5 pups. I unfortunately diagnosed her with a false pregancy last week - BECAUSE THE ULTRASOUND SAID NO PUPPIES - and we weren't prepared for this at all. All of the whelping supplies had been given away. We lost 2 of them unfortunately because she decided to whelp under our deck and not realizing it, 2 of the 3 didn't make it due to the cold night. We got her back in the house, cleaned her up quickly, made a makeshift whelping box and she whelped 2 more fairly quickly.

2 girls and 1 boy now join the household! It's going to be a crazy 8 weeks coming up. The move to Mexico JUST got a bit more challenging on the timing front.

Who else is having fun???!!!

Michael

Oh my goodness Michael, what a surprise. Yes some unexpected hard work and disruption for you both. Hope all goes well.

Oh my goodness! That is so sad! I'm glad you were able to save 3 of the puppies. What breed are they?

Erik, thanks for all of your hard work with the lanyards! That game sounds like a lot of fun!

Oh, and what a good job she chose this morning to have her pups and not tomorrow morning when you would be away.

Good Day all.

It is Friday and I am ready for the weekend. What does everyone else have planned?

Was planning to work outside but the forcast is for rain now, oh well. Guess, I'll us the time to keep up with all the posts.

Surprise, we are here :goodvibes

Bananagrams is a "board-game" that Jason and I love. It's a little like scrabble only more fun (and a little easier) where you make words using letter tiles in a crossword-puzzle style. It's called bananagrams because the tiles literally come inside a zipper bag that is shaped like a banana. It's a great game for travel because it's small and light and easy to pack. Jason and I will be bringing lots of games (assuming we can fit them in our luggage) with us cuz we're big game people...so you'll often see us sitting on deck or in a lounge somewhere playing a game----and if you want to join then just pull up a chair!! (Usually we are traveling with all our other cruise buddies like Hadley's family and Sandi's family, etc.....and they're game people, too, but since they've dropped off the cruise we're going to have to find new gamers!):thumbsup2

We might have to join you for a round or two.

Jon

Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers. We've been breeding and showing them since the early '90s (more showing than breeding) but this took us totally unawares. I knew there was a reason we had decided to stop..........

Alright folks.....going once.....going twice.......

I currently have 237 names on the Lanyard list.

If you are a procrastinator and have not ordered lanyards for yourself and your traveling party, but WANT lanyards...or think you might want lanyards, then PM me directly or send me an email at wbtalanyards@yahoo.com

Time is basically up....so you really really REALLY need to contact me TODAY!! (I know our PIF date is still a little ways away, but the lanyards project is really time consuming so, unfortunately, we don't have the flexibility to wait much longer before we have to make the order and start the process of actually pulling all the materials together!) Remember, the lanyards are FREE to all DISers who want them....so if you're on the fence...then follow Nike's mantra and JUST DO IT!! :thumbsup2

For everyone who is already signed up....be on the lookout for a post in the next week or so from me. I am working with our FANTABULOUS webmasters and we are going to post the FULL LIST of lanyard orders (with a listing of DIS Names, First names, stateroom and B2Bers) on the www.transatlanticpirates.com lanyards page. Once it's up I'll let you all know in a post here and probably through a direct PM, as well (for the benefit of the folks who may not read the thread that actively) and I'll just need you to go through the list with a fine-tooth comb and make sure that all your information is as correct and up to date as possible. (Note: I know that many many of you still don't have room #'s and that's fine for now....once you get them, however, I'll want you to send them to me so I can update my records----having your stateroom # will be important to help Jason and I make sure you actually RECEIVE your lanyards in case we miss you in the port.)

Thank you so much for doing this. I really appreciate it!

Sound like fun, My DH and I play scrabble when we're out on our boat for the weekend. But.... a word of warning...he makes up words!!! :rotfl: He even has elaborate meanings for them, It's actually quite funny! :lmao:

I just found my tux. for formal nights. It is the latest in high fashion. For anyone else that doesn't get dressed up or would prefer not to here it is.

:lmao::lmao:

Jon

Jon, We're holding you to it now, Can wait to see you modelling it on Formal night.

Good Day all.

It is Friday and I am ready for the weekend. What does everyone else have planned?

We bought a new boat this week so would love to be out on the water, but Mother Nature has a different idea, It is very windy here today! Otherwise we have a 40th birthday party out at Jimboomba tonight, which is about 1 hour from our house, out in the bush. They're having a big bonfire so should be fun.:goodvibes

WOW! Ummm, what do you say?:confused3 Better out than in? :rotfl: I suppose all you can do is laugh in a situation like that. Hope mother and surviving babies are doing well. ;)

PS. Got a letter from DCL yesterday, you guys probably got it long before it made it to Australia. It was just 'Helpful Hints for your Transatlantic Voyage'. Just about foreign currency, packing tips, Flight details, ground transfers and Hotels. Nothing exciting.

Good Day all.

It is Friday and I am ready for the weekend. What does everyone else have planned?

DH and I are going to see GD Bailey in a play on Saturday afternoon. I need to get a quick manicure and pick up ordered flowers before we leave to see play. We will then probably go out to dinner on Saturday night with the family. DD Samantha and friends are going skiing at Squaw for 4 days to celebrate her BF's 25th Bday.

Congrats on the puppies. I am so glad you guys were home when she whelped.

Hi everyone,
Havent been able to get to post this week and I think it will take me hours just to scan through all the posts :surfweb:

I notice a lot of you are talking about all the formal/semi formal nights.
I persuaded Carl to buy a tux, seeing as we have the med cruise as well so maybe another dress for me and we will be sorted ;).
We are flying with BA to Barcelona then Virgin home so we will have to pay for an extra suitcase each.

Wishing you all a great weekend, whatever you are doing.
I have got my 3 year old grandson overnight on Saturday, so will be shattered on sunday as he certainly knows how to keep us busy.

Jan

WoW... what a bunch of excitment for a Friday!!!!

Thanks Jason and Erik for all the work on the landyards!!!:grouphug:

Michael... what a surprise!!! Sorry you lost 2 of the pups, Hope mom and babies are doing fine.

Jon... love the shirt :rotfl2:

This weekend... probably do more yard work and do the iakos. Last weekend was the race... with wind:scared1:! So no working on the iakos.

Ann:cool2:

We love games so we're in!! Some of our fav's are Balderdash, Boggle, Scene It and Taboo!! Can't wait!

Jason and I will definitely have bananagrams, buzz word, boggle, taboo, uno and a deck of regular cards with us. If we can fit more we may try to bring cranium, as well.

Nothing planned for the weekend. The weather has been AMAZING the last two days. 70 degrees and sunshine. Woo Hoo!!! :dance3:

I baked bread today and lost a diamond out of my ring. :headache: Hope Dennis does not find it in his toast. :rolleyes1 Could be anywhere though, I also helped Dennis take the cover off the RV - the weather is THAT nice! - and I may have lost it out there in the driveway when we were folding that darn thing up.

We always have a deck of SkipBo with us. :goodvibes

DCL called today to follow up on our request of a pre-cruise night in Barcelona. I would appreciate any insight on Le Meridien. It is not cheap. Thanks.

DH and I are staying at Le Meridien the night before the cruise. We have stayed at a number of Le Meridien hotels and love them. Our rooms have always been glorious and service excellent. DH went to Barcelone in February 2010 and visited Le Meridien. He says it is a wonderful hotel and very conveniently located.

That being said, I realize that it is very expensive and there are other options, but we are lucky enough to be staying there on Starwood points. Honestly, I am not sure we would stay there because of the high cost if we didn't have the points.

Just my thoughts.

Love Wheatens! My parents have three of them!

Hope you do manage to find it Angie. I lost my solitaire from my engagement ring many years ago and never found it. Somehow it is still a little sad, even though we went to a diamond merchant and bought an extremely nice replacement.

When do you plan to set off in the RV for the long trip?
