Oooh, Sounds like a cute top! I think I'll take your lead and try to pack lot's of mix and match tops and bottoms. Since it's going into WInter here it is hard to buy Summer stuff for the cruise now! Although I've read it;s quite cool on the ship? Anyone know?

I find it very cold in some areas of the ship. Particularly the dining rooms and the theatre for the shows.

Disney Cruise Line Dooney and Burke Bags I know a few of you like the other Disney Dooney and Burke bags.

.

Love the bags!

Talk to Su_Kraft for the FEs :)

I'm still taking names for the Candy swap and the hotel to port transport in Barcelona.

Well, I am officially in single digits for my next cruise. I am just hoping that we can get there. I am not sure if all of you have heard about this, but there was a major volcanic eruption in Iceland and the cloud of ash is drifting over the UK had the moment causing all the flights in and out of the UK to be cancelled. At the moment the UK airspace will be closed until at least 1 PM tomorrow, but I would be surprised if any flights will be allowed to operate until at least Sunday and there is a possibility that this could drag on much longer than that. Working for an airline was definitely interesting today.

Corinna

Oh it is just a huge nightmare isn't it? I hope by the time you are due to fly the ash will have settled far away. I have been following a thread on a UK forum, and so many people are on there caught up either stuck at home or in the US or other countries. Someone was due to fly home from Orlando yesterday and the earliest they can be flown home is next Wednesday!!!

Which airline do you work for? It must be so difficult as the airlines don't have much info either to pass on to passengers.

Unless something has changed, the shuttle from the Renaissance to the port is not free, but it's not super expensive either. I think it was like 10 euro/adult and 6 euro per child. Definitely cheaper than a taxi, but not free.

The shuttle from the hotel to/from the airport is free.

You're right...its about 10euros. Thanks for reminding me.:thumbsup2

As for the other entertainment....we're doing the B2B...so we'll probably sit through everything on the last Med...and anything that isn't good we won't sit through again on the TA-----that'll be extra pool time or we'll play bananagrams in the atrium!! :thumbsup2

OK.....please tell....whats banabagrams?:confused3

I have been busy as always.

Who do I need to contact to sign up for Fish extenders?

Hope you are all doing well.

Now, they are nice. I'm gonna have to think seriously about getting me one of those.

I used similiar logic on the 4nt cruise we did in January. I wasn't going to get the CD, then I won the DVC drawing for a $300 OBC, so it paid for the CD (which was $299 on the 4nt cruise).
Whatever takes away the pain of spending $400 on photo's, coz I'd have to have them either way!;)

I find it very cold in some areas of the ship. Particularly the dining rooms and the theatre for the shows.

Thanks Paula, If you find it cold coming from chilly NZ, I'm going to find it freezing coming from the sunny Gold Coast of Australia!!!!
Note to self : Pack cardigans!!!:thumbsup2

The shuttle to the port is free from the airport hotel.

Is that the Patrika one? From the Renaissance at the Airport its 10 Euros per person for the port shuttle - free airport shuttle. It cost us 99 Euros for the one night. We get in at 10pm too

I've never heard of her. Mind you I am not well up in 'famous' people.:lmao:

Shes the original Belle from the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast. Shes fantastic. I hadn't heard of her until I went on the 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise in 2006 and she blew me away.

The Renaissance Barcelona Airport Hotel.

There is a free hotel shuttle bus too.

Heather the port shuttle I was told is 10 Euros per person?? There is a free bus from the airport but to the port there's a charge

Once Upon a Song was the filler show they had on the Magic in February and March while they set up for the Villians show and did on-ship rehersals. By all reports of those who sailed on the Magic during that time, it was a yawner, especially for the kiddos. While folks said that the songs were well sung, they weren't super lively and they also weren't the most popular or well known of the Disney songs.

I was really hoping for the Cirque type show that was on the last TA cruises in 2007. That sounded cool. With little kids, they love the musicals, but the comedy and other variety shows just don't keep their interest enough. I guess we'll be skipping some of the shows or doing more movies.

Yeah When Mickey Dreams was absolutely amazing! It was so so good!

I went to renaissance Hotel on line and didnt see any rooms for a Family of 4 ...well except the 2 bedroom suite , and I am not about to put 450 euro a night for a room ...LOL

pirate:

I got it as 300 Euros including access to the lounge for the 2 bed suite. I thought they allowed 4 per room but it must be 3. You could phone as the rooms are way big enough for 4. Its 99 Euros per room otherwise. Oh and the 300 Euros I think includes alcohol at night

:welcome: on board. We are also doing an 11 night Med cruise, but we are on the April 24th cruise.

Thanks for coming by and the update. I am glad to know that Brent is the cruise director at the moment. He was the cruise director on our very first cruise and nobody so far has come even come close. I also really liked Natalee.

I think I might have to seriously consider this for the TA.

I am sorry to hear that you won't be joining us.

My Dad works in Engineering at Heathrow and said it was very weird yesterday! Be interesting to see what happens in the next few days!

No, I was a bit forgettful there....10 euros per person from the hotel to the port. Free airport shuttle from airport to hotel.

Yep...corrected myself. Whoops made a mistake there.

just read this in the Live! thread;

"There are many more tastings than the usual martini, taquila, wine. They have a new mixology one that seemed to go over real well. One of my tablemates went and said it was the best one she has ever done. They have red wine, white wine, cognac. I can't remember them all. I'll post Navigators when I get home and figure out how."

Sounds like DCL has developed all the tastings we are interested in for group tastings. Very cool.

Pj

I did a Mixology class on the Wonder in 2006 and to be honest I didn't think it was that good as only 1 volunteer got to go and mix stuff up. Wouldn't bother with that again but the others would be good.

Was your 11 night cruise on the Wonder? We was on that one and had a great time. I agree, Susan Egan was very good.

I'm joining, Although I might break out a skirt!

Great Idea!:thumbsup2

We take our luggage scales and weigh everything before we go to the airport. I always put heavy stuff in the front pockets (like books) just in case our scales are different to the airports, Then I can just take a few things out of the front pocket and put it in my carry on. We are expert packers, There are 4 of us, and we our in the Airlines Frequent Flyer program, so we have an allowance of 10 bags between us at 23Kg's each, and we usually use every last KG! Shopping in the USA is just so much cheaper than here!:thumbsup2

So, We got the $100 per person on board credit x4 = $400...So we get the photo CD for free! Great!:goodvibes

Looks like your in luck! :yay:

Not sure if it's what your looking for, But we are a family of 4 and we booked here for about 79 euro a night. The hotel is brand new, looks quite nice.
http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-5560-novotel-barcelona-city/index.shtml

Weirdly I brought a pair of travel luggage scales yesterday so I can ensure that I do not go over again. Also anyone flying Virgin Atlantic - if you booked after 25th Nov 2009 then you only get 1 bag of 23kgs! I booked on the 10th Nov so still get 2.

I think the photo CD is a fab price for the number of nights. Anyone know if there is a max number of photos on it?

I was just looking at the info for this cruise on the DCL site, and saw this strange description for the last day. I guess after all the time changes we'll have gone through on this trip, they figure we won't know what day it is when we actually get off the boat!

Day 15 – Disembarkation Day
On Saturday morning, arrive back in sunny Port Canaveral on Friday, content in the vacation memories that can only be had on a Disney cruise, where exquisite dining, unique entertainment and recreation, and legendary service seamlessly come together to create a family getaway unlike any other.

LOL! I love it!
