That is a lot of formal/semi-formal dinners! As far as clothing is concerned, I'm going to take what I can and wear it more than once. Afterall, dinner won't taste any different if I wear the same outfit more than once. :thumbsup2

I Like your way of looking at it!!! We will only be wearing the formal clothes for a few hours to dinner so I suppose we can wear them again anyway, unless we slop our food !:rotfl:

Add me to that group... And to think I was hoping to not do a bunch of laundry on the ship... :(

Sue, maybe we should have a laundry meet, sounds like we're going to need it! Could be quite the social place to meet! :laughing:

I am so far behind and have been super busy so I haven't had time to read this thread. Awhile back the 12 meter Regatta was brought up. Below are links to my posts from my trip report in 2007 that includes picture from the regatta.

Regatta Part 1 and Part 2

Enjoyed reading this and loved the photos .... would you recommend this trip?

Oh my God! Someone's posted this on the forum as to special entertainment on the EBTA

So far, they only have announced Ducky Williams - he is doing a sketch specifically for you. You get 10 min with him for $40 (!) and he will draw anything you want. There is Alfred and Seymour and Ricky Kalmon, a hyptonist we saw on the western last summer who is so funny!! This is all so far. I'm going to start a "Live on the Magic" thread if there isn't one already.

Amazing ... I wonder if I can do it twice. These sketches would make wonderful gifts for my poor abandoned kids :thumbsup2

Hi All!

Gismo1554 suggested I stop by and say Hi! as my Dad and I will be going on the WB Transatlantic Cruise this September also!

I understand there is a lot going on! :thumbsup2

Hi Lynne ... :welcome: aboard

Biggest THANKS goes to Erik and Jason who do all the actual WORK on the lanyard team! They are the best!!!

Thanks to Erik and Jason for all their hard work :worship:

I have you listed for the Secret Mickey Carolynn ..... is your Mom in with you or does she have a separate cabin. I do not have any information re. your Mom Trudy.

I saw this posted from the EBTA folks!

These are the dinner menu, attire and show schedules.

Sat-Let the Magic Begin-casual-Welcome Aboard: Let the Magic Begin!
Sun-Taste of the Caribbean-casual-Ricky Kalmon
Mon-Prince and Princess-formal-Twice Charmed
Tue-rotational menu-casual-Jason Bishop
Wed-rotational menu-casual-Once Upon a Song
Thur-rotational menu-semi formal-Alfred & Seymour
Fri-Villians-semi formal-Villians Tonight!
Sat-Ttransatlantic-formal-The Dream Goes On

Sun-Pirates IN the Caribbean-casual-movie night
Mon-Master Chef-casual-musical performance by Brooke White and Justin Guarini
Tue-Around the World-casual-Cultural show, Los Mulero
Wed-Flavors of the Mediterranean-casual-crew talent show
Thur-Captain's Gala-semi formal-Dreams
Fri-Til We Meet Again-casual-Remember the Magic: A Final Farewell

So 2 formals and 3 semi-formals! Oh my that's a lot of clothes that aren't t-shirts and capris! What will I bring to wear? My brain is tired - does anyone want to take a stab at applying the above schedule to our cruise, given the itinerary differences?

Looks as though I will have to do some serious shopping over the summer. I will be needing another formal an 2 semi formal, one of which will have to double up for Palo.

Is anyone else crushingly disappointed with the entertainment on the EBTA? I mean, Justin Guarini is the only name they have, and he's from 5 seasons ago on Idol. I was really figuring they'd have something more on par with the last TAs.

But you will love Alfred and Seymour!!!:thumbsup2

Here's a stab at it!

Comments welcome!!!

Looks good to me. Lots of thinking about and shopping to do now for the dining!!!

Thanks for this. Now I better look for another lightweight semi-formal dress. I love dressing up.

Oh my GOD!!! I can't cope with that many! Thats insane! I have another half that will at most be wearing a shirt and jeans on semi-formal knowing him! How to make him by slacks?

Schedule wise here fores:

1. Barcelona -> Let the Magic Begin-casual-> Welcome Aboard: Let the Magic Begin!
2. At Sea -> Prince and Princess-formal-> Twice Charmed
3. Gibraltar -> Flavors of the Mediterranean-casual -> Ricky Kalmon
4. At Sea -> Rotational menu-casual-> Once Upon a Song
5. Madeira -> Rotational menu-casual-> Jason Bishop
6. At Sea ->Villians-semi formal-> Villians Tonight!
7. At Sea -> Around the World-casual-> Cultural show, Los Mulero
8. At Sea -> Transatlantic-formal-> The Dream Goes On
9. At Sea -> Master Chef-casual-> musical performance
10. At Sea -> Pirates IN the Caribbean-casual-> movie night
11. St Maarten -> Taste of the Caribbean-casual -> crew talent show
12. Tortula -> Rotational menu-semi formal-> Alfred & Seymour
13. At Sea -> Captain's Gala-semi formal-> Dreams
14. Castaway Cay -> Til We Meet Again-casual-> Remember the Magic: A Final Farewell

Not very impressed with the shows really mind as I don't think they have as big names as last time - Boys II Men & Susan Egan & Jim Bracknam were on the last ones. Don't know who the 2 music people are on this one.

Me me me! I didn't even know who they were!

I can see us eating in the buffett alot. Anyone know how this works at night?

We really like Topsiders at night. It isn't a buffet then, but a very nice sit down meal. The salad starter is buffet if you want that and very nice it is too.

We have eaten there twice and would go more but usually it means leaving very nice tablemates!!

John has had steak there both times and really enjoyed it. It isn't a huge menu, but enough to please everyone. The servers have been great and attentive both times.

I hope to eat there a couple of times on the cruise. Nothing to do with clothes as we would shower and change anyway, just meant you can eat earlier and more speedily!!! People were dressed very casually though, so no problems there. We did however miss pirate night to go both times as we didn't bother dressing up, and I don't really like the pirate night menu either.

What food do they do?

Am I right in thinking smart jeans and a shirt wont work on semi formal night?

Sarah, we'll have to get our DH's to sit together, that way they can be underdressed together ;).

I didn't even know to expect celebrities, even D grade celebrities, or is that F grade. So I'm not too fussed. I'm more exciting about meeting all of you :grouphug:.

Good plan! They can sit on the sulking table while we dress up lol! He's already said hes happy to eat in the room if I think he will embaress me - which I don't think at all!

Food at Topsiders is normel dinner fare - like you would get in the restaurants, but of course they aren't cooking for as many, so I thought it was perhaps even better. The first time we went I had a great turkey dinner!!!

I think smart jeans and a shirt would be just fine for semi formal night. You see everything from Tuxes right 'down' to VERY casual to be honest!!

Thanks Marilyn. I know people get in a right barny about people not being dressed up enough but I know that Dan can't eat in trousers and a shirt as he feels so uncomfortable. He doesn't mind dressing up for formal just doesn't really want to have to do it for loads of nights!

He'd be quite happy in his smart pair of jeans and a nice shirt but give him trousers or slacks and he has a melt down!

My Dennis is way more comfortable in a pair of khakis than in jeans. Which is odd for a Montana raised boy. :confused3 He wears slacks most of the time, jeans when he is fishing, yardwork, etc. Jeans are so much heavier to pack also that I'm glad to take the lightweight slacks for him.

John has never worn jeans. I think they are only smart on younger people really, and yes, for yardwork for the oldies!!!! John would just look like a scruffy builder if I got him some.:lmao:

And then you would have to get him a tool belt also and where would it all end? :confused3:rotfl::lmao::laughing:
