I have a friend on Facebook that lives in Harrisburg about 35 minutes away from here. This is what she posted. I cannot even believe the nerve of that mayor!!!

L****** lives in a city where the idiot mayor asks residents to call to have their streets plowed after moving their cars out of the 18 inches of snow in lieu of declaring a snow emergency, all major interstates that surround the city are now closed by the governor and PennDOT is pushing piles of snow to block the on ramps to ...said interstates, thus trapping us in the city. It may be the end of the world as we know it. :)

A lot of the streets are not that wide and where are they going to go with the snow they shovel??? What a moron.

:sad2: Crazy!!!

So we are still snowed in...haven't even tried to touch our cars yet. Dave is going to try to make it into work tomorrow morning. Thankfully the Disney Store and the mall where I work was closed today so I didn't have to go out in the blizzard conditions!

I have no idea how much snow we actually got...but I have a feeling it's deep!

My heart goes out to all of you in Snow Country! Lived in it for 10 years, and the past 21 in the desert. We barely get rain, but this year we have had more then our fair share:rolleyes1
Bundle up and sending you all:hug:pixiedust:

We officially broke snowfall records in the DC area with today's snowfall! Total snow this season in the Dulles and BWI airport areas is over 72 inches in both places! We got another 10" today, and felt lucky that it wasn't worse!

And can I mention they're expecting a little clipper to come through on Monday with a few more inches of snow!

My kids have been out of school since Friday, we haven't received mail delivery since Friday, and while I can work from home, doing so with 2 kids and a DH at home is getting to be a challenge!!

Well it finally stop snowing after 24 hours. We had 29 inches of snow in this storm. This is after 16 inches on Saturday. So we have 45 inches of snow on the ground. Now all we have till deal with is the 50 mile hour wind gust. here are some pics.

Love the pics - I remember getting on the roof and shoveling snow in January 1996 and in 1994 there was another storm but mostly ice - I think we had less than 1/2 of our morning classes that semester. I finally got an email from my father - as of noon they only had 8", but all the schools are closed for tomorrow. I don't miss that weather, much happier in my not so sunny CA.

Hey guys,
I know I am off the cruise and should quit postin, but I want to say i love the snow photos:goodvibes I hope all of you who are snowed in are safe and stay that way and do not go too stir crazy. I have been thnking about everyone I "know" getting socked in. Please be careful once you do get back out, too. It is a good thing you have a cruise to plan to keep you occupied;)

Also Sarahs..........................

Ive booked flights to go to manchester in may, I know its ridik, it was 60 each return!!!!! cheaper than train, and we could not be bothered driving as we would not want to drive in manchester.
We are super excited about meeting yo.
LAst night the vet said " why are you going to manchester"
I said "to meet friends" she said "they must be good friends"
I never told we had never met incase she thought I was mad:confused:

We can't wait to meet you all ..... LOL at the good friends comment. I get that all the time when I tell people about my internet friends ... and I actually have more in common with my internet Disney friends as some of my local friends and work colleagues just don't get it :confused3

I just booked our FF flight on United to Frankfort for Monday Septi 13. John and I are deciding how to get to Barcelona from Frankfort. He wants to take a train so I am going to check costs etc.:surfweb:

Hey you may have had to switch cruises but you're still like family here. Let us know how your cruise is and everything else happening on your adventure!!

Hello All -

My DW and I will be joining you on this cruise to bring the Magic home to Port Canaveral.

We live in Cleveland Ohio and have very similar snow to some of you. It seems as though the east coast got hit a lot harder this time around. We only got about a foot to 18 inches of the white stuff. But it has been cold. It has not been above freezing in about a month.

Have you all made your own flight reservations to BCN? I was doing some checking and could not find a price less than what the air add-on is. What have been your flight costs?

Looking forward to seeing everyone in September.

Dale

Today I had some bad news and some good news in relation to our Liverpool - Barcelona flights

The bad news ......

an email from Easyjet saying that our flight to Barcelona has been CANCELLED
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

The good news .........

I was able to rebook a flight on the same day for almost the same price and this gets us into Barclona mid afternoon as opposed to late evening as per the original flight

The even better news .....

We will now make it to Barclona in time for Lynne's pre - dinner drinks party at the wonderful apartment

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Welcome aboard!! My DH has lots of family in the Kent, Ohio area. We fly into Cleveland when we visit his family.

We made our own flight arrangements because DH has lots of FF miles on United. However, that being said, I have seen some really great deals to Barcelona at least from San Francisco. I had to do lots of recent research as DH is going to Barcelona on business this Friday.

You might want to check some of the travel sites before committing to the air add on.

Just my thoughts....

:welcome: Dale and DW.

My BFF Stephanie and I had originally wanted Disney to do the air but after them telling us it would be $935 per person, I kept thinking there had to be better prices out there. I also wanted a non-stop. We kept looking because one day the price would be low and then the next day it would skyrocket. We found a one-way non-stop out of Phila to Barcelona on U S Air. Total cost for the two of us --$918!!!! There are a bunch of us coming in on that same flight either on Wed, Thurs, or Friday. Then getting back home for us will be a snap since we like Southwest and can always get a good ding fare and come back into Baltimore.

Loving all the snow pictures even though some of them are making me a little claustrophobic!!

This is the closest we really get to snow. The view from our place...
