It's in the works. I had time set aside last weekend, but spent that time removing the 100 or so new registrations spamming us with viagra and cialis, then figuring out how them from coming back. So far I've been able to stop it without using CAPTCHA (the annoying distorted graphics from which you have to decipher the text).

I'll try to get to it this weekend, but have much on the honey-do list, as well as getting ready for another baseball season, as I created and manage the website for my son's league.

Glenn - thank you, thank you, thank you .... all of your hard work is really appreciated and we realise you do actually have a life outside of all this so don't worry ... there is no desperate hurry for it all to be set up and you have done so much already ... the website looks fantastic. :goodvibes

HI Lyn

I booked through Skytours, with BMI, but apparently have ended up flying with United, for about £420 pp one way, but we have 3 changes. Everything else was coming up way expensive though.

I don't collect HRC pins and don't really want to start as I have enough Disney pins to contend with, but I would be happy to pick you up a HRC pin in Barcelona if you're not able to get one yourself.

Sarah you are an absolute star! I may well take you up on that offer as probably not going to get any time for shopping before the cruise!

Does anyone think it would be a good idea to get a list of activities so that interested people can sign up to them on the Transatlantic pirates website .. like we have done with lanyards / fish extenders / secret mickey etc.
Then we can keep track of what's going on, who is interested in doing what and it would help the person doing the Navigator to put it all together.

Wonderful website team Sue & Glenn .... is that do-able? :confused3

I think it would be a good idea if doable!

One week from today we will be sailing on the Sapphire Princess. So we will be packing this weekend.

This will be our first time on Princess. We're looking forward to it.

No problem .... we plan to eat there anyway. You will just have to tell me which one to get (do they have pics online?).

How wonderful ..... I would love to get away for a cruise right now, escape from the British winter. I used to work for Princess and my parents have cruised with them recently and really had a great time, and they have cruised on the Sapphire Princess. I hope you have a wonderful time and give us a review when you get back :goodvibes .

Have a great time Woody and let us know how you like it. I read great things about Princess.

Woody hope you have a fab cruise! I am so so jealous!

Wooooooo, just realised Spain is 1 hour in front of UK time, so that means 6 hours extra cruising!!! 6 x 25 hour days!!:thumbsup2:lmao: 6 extra hour's sleep for my husband John!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

There'll be trouble on this cruise if your bear hooks up with my daughter's Princess Bunny. There was no end to the trouble we found her in on our recent cruise!

One margarita at the Concierge reception,

And she thought she'd go for a swim!

It took us awhile to figure out where the bar charges were coming from:

But we finally found the source!

She even tried to crash the pirate party!
IMG_2037.jpg

And one day she headed off to get herself dressed up

So she could go to Palo

For High Tea

Then off to Topsiders for breakfast to sober up! (in case you were wondering if she had a Cinderella outfit as well!)

I don't know if i have the time to organize the bus right know. I got the price quote about a week just for info and it already expired. If somebody wants to be in charge of this i can send them the info i have or at least keep a list of names, number of people and which of the praktik you are staying at. If we do this we should do this closer to a paid in full date. Also that price may and will change do to the exchange rate and bus rates

Counting the Days

Good morning from SF. I am watching last night Australian Open Women's final this morning (I missed it last night do to a dinner). What a great match.

I can't believe that I depart in 8 months and 6 days! I am starting to get organized here - putting clothes in my other room, started shoe boxes with travel items (toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent, etc.). :cool1::banana::goodvibes I must do these things now when I have time. As things have picked up quite a bit at work in the last 2 weeks - I have only had 2 days off (both Saturday's) and I am wiped. I am earning this vacation.

Last weekend I got 2 pair of shoes for the cruise - as the shoes I had from my last cruise were too tight when my feet swelled - sliver slip on with a 1 inch heel and flip flops with jewels on them. I also picked up some clothes at Old Navy all between $6 and $15 (1 pair of shorts, 2 pair of pants, 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of capris and a tee) and a long black flowy skirt at Burlington for $10.

I had dinner the other week at a little French restaurant here and talked with them about Corsica and Villefranche (Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo). Sounds like Nice is what I will be doing. Then went to a little Italian place and found out they have a sister restaurant in Florence that I am going to try to seek out.

Someone mentioned cheap alcohol in Barcelona - I am in need of a store to get some wine for the cruise. My roomie and plan to pick-up a case prior to our 10 day and buy some in the ports during the 10 day for the transatlantic. So if anyone knows of one please let me know.

Thinking about getting an iPod Touch for the trip, but not sure if there is a lot of free wi-fi in Europe as there is here in SF. Anyone have any insights that live over yonder or have traveled there.

I hope to check in at least 1x a week going forward and say No to work. Logging off to do some laundry, pay the bills, get the taxes ready to send to the accountant, do some filing, and cleaning the house all before 7 pm when I have dinner with some friends. Have a great weekend and happy February.

Does anyone know if it's possible to WALK to the port from the hotel if your luggage has wheels and is easy to manipulate ( I am rubbish at estimating distance). That would eliminate all the taxi hassle.

I do not suggest it. I thought it would be do able in 2007. Sent the luggage on the bus from the hotel (Disney Transfer) and went off sightseeing (so basically paid the money so we did not have to drag our luggage around the city prior to check-in). We walked the Ramblas and tried to find the bus from the Columbus Monument to the port and could not find it so started to walk. Ended up taking a flagging cab to take us the last bit (we got to the bridge that goes to the port but my dad was done with the walking and that was without luggage).

:scared1::scared1::scared1: isn't that stuff illegal ??????

Not any more. Absinthe is available is some bars in San Francisco. I have had it a few times and like it.

That sounds good to us. If we pay cash (euros) then there would be no conversion/credit card fees...correct?

Capital One Credit Cards to not charge a conversion fee (at least the last time I checked). Those of you in the US may want to look into getting one for the cruise. I plan to put the cruise on my Chase card and use my Capital One card while in ports.

Thanks for that information ...... I won't try walking if it is that complicated.

I have the same question. I am bringing my netbook to use in the hotel and have been looking for something for navigation while walking around town. I have navigation on my smartphone but don't want the telephone charges. Does anyone know if the navigation works in airplane mode? Would there be enough free wireless on the streets of BCN for an ipod Touch? Any other suggestions?

I got a quote for a bus to pick up a the praktik barclona and praktik rambla to the port. It was 229 euros. That was for 30 people on a 55 passenger bus. I ask for that amount because the disers like to pack and we will all have a seat. it equals to 7.64 euros per person. with is $10.60 cents a person before the conversion fee and credit card fees. It would be about $15.00 per person.

I think we would be very interested in joining this kind of thing if the pickup time was right for us - want to be able to do something in the morning around town, but also get to the ship pretty early, too. Maybe just bend time!

I found this on Tripadvisor, but have no idea how far Barcelona have got with providing it. I wonder if you sent an email off to the Barcelona powers that be if they would reply and tell you.

I saw on the ebTA page that they have organized group dinners and brunches at Palo. Is that something that we're considering doing as well, as we get closer to the booking date?

I know we would be interested in being in a Palo group for dinner and/or brunch.
