If you've ever seen Trawlermen, then you've seen DH's home port - PD. ;) Yes, we know some of the "stars" of the show. No, my DH has never been on it.

The quota thing is always an issue - the powers that be just change the rules up a bit now and again. Scientists have sailed with DH before to allow them to evaluate/estimate the "stock" available.

Yes he does sometimes - but those guys are obviously using a different style of fishing than our fleet here in the UK do. And although it does get very cold up here, DH has never had to use their boat as an ice-breaker as the North Sea doesn't freeze over like the Berring Sea does. :goodvibes
Thats what I meant, trawler man, Im so thick sometimes!but ofcourse dad watches both! Dads boat is at anstruher, I do all my marathons for the rnli:thumbsup2
My DH is the breadwinner as I am retired. John is an inventor (holder of 24 patents) and a VP of Marketing for a semiconductor company. Can you tell how proud of him I am? [/COLOR]

Yes, I can but you cant leave it at that, you have to tell us something he has invented.

I haven't posted in a while but I saw the last question and wanted to put my two cents in about my favorite spot on the ship.

It would be the Rainforest Room. I just love the tile loungers.

I work for a recreation center. We have over 66 programs but I help do the attendance and billing for the Before & After School program and the summer camps. I am also the operator and help out at the front desk during lunch. That consists of taking all kinds of registrations and in the summer selling discount park tickets. We have a Seinor Center downstairs and once in a while I bring in my Pal Mickey all dressed up in one of his many outfits and the seniors just love to see him.

:goodvibes1. I love so many areas on the ship! Some of my faves are the Cofe Cave, especially in the morning...the spa, just cause i love the smell and the tile loungers in the rainforest room! And I love deck 10 after most are asleep...just to take a walk and be amazed at the ship floating in the darkness.

2. I am a stay at home mom, but I am working retail for the holidays right now. My dh works for Costco Wholesale.

I cannot believe less than 300 days now! the next month or so will fly by, then it is really time to get planning!

300 days, woohoo, that means tomorrow we will be in the 200's!!!

As for my favourite part of the ship, I am a first time cruiser, so not sure yet.....although I am thinking the oceaneers lab may be my favourite, as that is where I drop my DD's and get some peace, LOL!!
Jobs, DH and I run a commercial window fitting business, boring....but pays the bills.

Back from our quickly planned trip to London. Seem to have imported some cold germs! Didn't put them on the list of things I was bringing back to the States. Hope I don't get into trouble for that!

This was my first flight overseas and it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.
I badgered all my friends for their tips on the flight.

The best one was to make sure you have plenty of water. I bought 2 liters for me going over and was surprised at just how thirsty I was. The air must be very dry in the plane.

I also downloaded a neat free app for my iphone called WhiteNoise Lite. That, my neck pillow, and eye mask and I was able to actually fall asleep for a few hours! I know I looked goofy, but it was sooo worth it. (and any of my kids will tell you that I AM Goofy!)

1) What is your favourite part of the ship(if youve not sailed which part are you looking forward to most?)
2) What do you do for a living/support disney cruise addiction(if youve not sailed before,it soon will be!)

1. There are some deck chairs facing the ocean near the Quiet Cove pool that have our names on them!

2. I am "retired" but have had many jobs thru the years: engineer, research librarian, and Disney Store worker!

DH is a mechanical engineer with a major oil and gas corporation.

1) What is your favourite part of the ship(if youve not sailed which part are you looking forward to most?)

I love the padded chairs right outside of cove cafe. Or the sofas inside of Cove Cafe.

2) What do you do for a living/suport disney cruise addiction(if youve not sailed before,it soon will be!)

I am retail buyer, specializing in Apple products and Adobe Educational license programs.

WE are a mac family!!!:cool1::thumbsup2

I think we should have one every Monday so we get to know each other better.
We done this AGES ago, but we have lots of nice new ship mates, so we will start again. I will do tom, but everybody takes a shot!
I think we should have one disney Q and one real life Q. What do you think?

So...

We love Cove Cafe, Rainforest and Sessions.

We are retired for just over a year now.
DH, AKA Dennis, AKA DrHug, was a pharmacist.
I was a patient advocate for a Veteran's Medical Center. Now I do a bit of work online at home helping to update a pharmacutical website. I just work 10-15 hours a week to make a bit of Disney money. :surfweb:

yes you must share some of his inventions!!!!!

Our son had such a great time talking with John about some of the chips he has invented. Our son works for Verizon Wireless and some of John's chips are in the phones he sells. They had a great time talking about the beginning and end users of them. :goodvibes John is a very smart man (and nice I might add!), Noel has reason to be proud of him.

Howdy everyone,

I know its been along time since i posted but I've been busy with my moms affairs and we just got back from a week at WDW and a 7 day Eastern cruise on the Magic. It has taken me all week to recover. I didnt even get to the grocery store accept for milk and bread at the gas station until yesterday because I was so tired. Today I finished up the last of the laundry too.

I will add my answers to the questions posted.

My favorite place is the Promenade Lounge in the evenings when a duo is playing music. I love live music and its nice and relaxing in there for me.

Paying for our DCL addiction:
Well thats all up to my DH. He is an Operations manager for a construction company. My occupation is spending his money;) I am very good at my job too:lmao:

It's about bedtime here, just thought I would pop in to say hello. Now that our vacation is over maybe I will manage to post more often. I do lurk as much as I can to keep up.

Night all,

Kathy

It really helps if you can sleep on a long-haul. I have yet to master that but might invest in a neck pillow to see if that helps. I agree -drinking lots of water is the way to go.

Hi Kathy, how have you been, and a fine job you have too.:thumbsup2

DH is the principal inventor of the PAL device. He also holds numerous FPGA patents. He was also featured in the Chip edition in 1980 of the National Geographic magazine.

Cool.

Angel Sarah, its official, your in charge of the countdown!:cutie:

Kathy glad it went well! That app sounds neat!

My job gives me second row seats - we certainly see people from all walks of life !!

That must be really cold working as a diver in Canada -will make a welcome change for you to dive in the Caribbean !! Sounds an exciting job though!

For most of the year the water is cold. However, some areas can get up to almost 80. I actually like our "cold" Canadian water, We snorkled on our cruise in 08 but haven't actually dived in the south. The only southern dive I have done was at Epcot Living Seas.

OMG - starting to go by quick now - and I'm sure it will begin to fly by after the holidays!! :thumbsup2

My favorite spot has to be Deck 4 late at night on the comfy chairs. So peaceful!!!

To feed my DCL addiction - I work with the maintenance computer system at a Pharmaceutical company.
