Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.3

I have just booked my outward flights to Barcelona - and already we had to make a plan change.

The flight we wanted on the 17th departed at 07:00am, which basically meant that my Mum who is driving us to the airport (can't take a car as returning into a different airport!) would have to be up at 04:00 am which we thought was a bit mean - or we could get a taxi which would cost us £80 approx.

So the second option was to fly in on the evening of the 16th - flight departs at 18:30 and arrives Barcelona at 21:50 - this would mean 2 hotel nights but it would be easier on Mum or alternatively probably the same price had we decided to get a taxi - plus we get a whole day in Barcelona as opposed to just an afternoon. Total cost of flights for 2 adults with 2 checked in cases plus an extra 3kg weight allowance - £96.48 and I am really pleased with that

Time to check out those Barcelona hotels again .......

We'll be flying into the UK a week before and staying with friends, who will be joining us on the cruise. Then heading into Spain a couple days before the big day. Don't know where we'll be staying yet.

Where in the UK are you travelling to?

We are thinking of staying at the hilton that disney recommends, anyone heard anything about his hotel.

Only stuff off trip advisor Im afraid. As a Hilton I would assume it will be a good hotel.

I booked our airfare last night oneway into Paris. We are going to visit DLP for 3 nights--2 days in parks one day seeing the sights. Then fly into Barcelona and staying at the AC for 2 nights. It is beginning to get really exciting

What I did....looked on Orbitz and found flights. British Airways was cheapest for me... <snip>... Bottom line, I'm happy with the price, and it's DONE!

Thanks for the info - I'm still looking through various websites and find that many are listing BA flights at prices wayyy below what BA themselves offered us!

I think its to do with flying to 2 seperate areas or at least thats what I was told in 2007. You can book open jaw around Europe or around America but not including both!

How inconsiderate! Don't the airlines know us Disers like to make our vacays a bit more complicated than most!

WE just booked the transatlantic, it will be myself, my husband, and both fathers.

School breaks are a busy time for me (I'm a pet sitter) so I decided to jump over to the WBTA. I'll be sailing with my dad (Mark). My only worry is the baggage - all checked bags have to be paid for (£9 per bag - 20kg each bag) - I have booked 2 checked bags and paid an extra £21 for 3 extra kilos. Can I get everything to weigh less than 40 kg total - I will keep everything crossed.

Ok, will just book BCV for us.

I booked Hotel Continental Barcelona. There were some bad reviews, also some good reviews on TripAdvisor, but based on several emails with the manager we decided to keep it. The price is right, location right and they seem committed to assuring that we have a positive experience....and it is only for 2 nights.
