Lynne seriously now I feel so so lazy lol. I'm sure you are going to do great this weekend! I love the mega bus!

As for me, Dan's been on a course in Worcester all week (well since Tuesday) so hes finally home tonight. If its a nice day tomorrow we are may go and sort out a bit of my Great Uncles garden as we need to look into putting it on the market for him.

Sunday weve got tickets to see a preview of The Fantastic Mr Fox which I think we're doing as a girlie trip so should be nice.

Then next Tuesday I'm off to London with work again, this time on my own so thatll be a test as to whether or not I can work out where I'm going lol

Oh and next weekend we're off to Alton Towers too so busy week ahead

Think its to be nice weather over weekend.
Cinema sounds great.
London, I would so get lost, get sat nav!

Alton Towers
Don't Look Down!

Just got an email from DU and our waitlist for a cat 3 has come up. Snatched their hand off, and so now we're in one of the huge handicap accessible cat 3 aft rooms. Can't wait.

I hope you keep it. Disney has a policy if a handicapped room is required and the required medical information is submittd that an accessible room is needed. Disney will move you. I think they have to move you to a category in the same level. So not sure what they would do.??

Hey you guys! We're still going. I just got a little overwhelmed dealing w/2 cruise threads and my mom's estate (and other things, of course); sorry. So will try to keep up from now on.

To have enough points to use would be nice! I still seem like a million points away! Oh well!

I know what you mean. It has taken us a few years to accumulate enough points.

John travels so much these days that the points are accumulating faster. However, I sure don't envy his 20+ hour flights to Asia in coach!!!
:surfweb:

What you guys up to this weekend?

We are going to the Aviemore in the highlands to run a half marathon this weekend, staying at a very posh hotel as marathon runners get it cheap cause we fund raised for a hospice near by, gonna be great, how easy is a half after torturing myself with a full?
Going on mega bus, 1 pound each way, cant be bad!
Have fun everybody, whatever you get up to.

Well we have a HUGE weekend!!! :yay:

My son (DBK1029) and his fiance (TheDisneyGirl02) are getting married tomorrow!!!! :cool1:

OMG - where on earth do you get all your energy from Lynne? It takes me all my time to walk to the town and I don't remember the last time I actually "ran" anywhere!

Have a great time torturing yourself :rotfl: and enjoy the hotel :)
I have never heard of mega bus but it sure sounds cheap!

I am working tomorrow - a 12 hour shift - and then on Sunday having dinner with Mum and then driving DD back to Uni again.

Last evening we booked a weekend skiing in France for February - as I have not been on skiis since I was 17 it should be very entertaining for all :lmao::lmao: . Also the last time DH went skiing he crashed into a tree. Maybe not a good decision to book this type of holiday really !!!! Plus the people we are going with are all seasoned skiers!

I will be having very soft food this weekend. I had a baby tooth pulled earlier today and am such a whuss. I have already taken two pain pills and still hurt. My darling hubby made me some ravioli (it was soft) and it was wonderful. So now I am just playing on Facebook. :goodvibes

Wow! See this is the kind of stuff I loved to plan when I was training to be a TA way back when. :cloud9:

I'm really hoping a TA will see it that way too ;)

My grandfather who lived in the USA for over 70 years always remained a British citizen. We have stayed in close touch with our English and New Zealand families though we don't often see them in person.
Noel

I confess I'm an immigrant too, I was born in the UK but I've been an NZ citizen since 1988(?) and I carry and NZ passport. I do consider myself a kiwi too.

What you guys up to this weekend?

Currently I'm in Auckland, I came up on Friday and worked all day Friday and Saturday at a client site. I had the day off today and caught the train out to the suburbs to go to one of the larger markets, came back and had a bit of a walk around the city. I'm heading back home to Christchurch tomorrow afternoon.

Next week is a long weekend which I'm looking forward to.

DH John is on his way to Tampere, Finland via Frankfort, Germany. Outside it was 41 degrees. Brrrr...... Tampere will be 36 degrees. He iwill be wearing his Bayerischer Hof coat, scarf and hat to keep warm.

What are those things in the bowl? They look like small bananas!! (I'm sure they're not though!).

I'm going to guess....sausages?

They are bratwurst which a sausage usually composed of veal, pork or beef. The name is German, derived from Old High German brätwurst, from brät-, which is finely chopped meat and -wurst, or sausage. Though the brat in bratwurst describes the way the sausages are made, it is often misconstrued to be derived from the German verb "braten", which means to pan fry or roast.Bratwurst are usually grilled and sometimes cooked in broth or beer.

Eating bratwurst is something of a tradition that John and I ido n train stations.

Alot of flights have been released today. I was able to book a one way from Detroit to Barcelon via Amsterdam through Flycheapabroad . com....For........:wizard::banana::banana::cool1::cool1: $590 pp, including insurance.

I've been looking at flight options from IAD (Washington Dulles) and the best flight option and price that I keep coming up with is Air Lingus non-stop from IAD to Madrid. The current price for the week before our cruise is about $500 a person. It also looks like flights from Madrid to Barcelona are plentiful and cheap (like $35-$85/pp) but no one will let me price that routing as a multicity trip, and none of the one way flight options do that routing either, so I assume it has something to do with it being a domestic flight (within Spain) versus an international one. So my question is, what is the best way to get from Madrid to Barcelona? If by plane, what impact will the luggage have? If not by plane, what other options? (Train, rent a car (we've actually driven around Madrid and the surrounding area on our honeymoon many years ago, but would need a car big enough for the luggage) or some other option?

Or would we be better off looking at another routing, and does anyone have any other suggestions from IAD or nearby airports?

Have you looked at AerLingus from JFK to BCN? You could fly to JFK from IAD, and then you would still have reasonable luggage allowances. I am doing that next week, and my flight on Aer Lingus to Rome (for a Celebrity Equinox TA) was only $372 pp.
