I think more people will post nearer the time of the cruise - I just assume they have very busy lives - I have no idea if anyone has dropped out, apart from those who have posted to tell us. Once the cruise starts getting closer Im sure this thread will become very active with all the planning etc!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Well done - excellent news!

We are hoping to visit Park Guell - which has lots of Gaudi Architecture and looks really interesting:

also you might want to catch the Fountain of Montjuic one evening.

Happy Planning!

Thanks for the tips for places to visit. I will check them out.

Has anyone given any thought as to where they will be eating in Barcelona before the cruise - I may be the saddest person on the planet to be thinking about this already, but DH and I have just discovered that there is a Hard Rock Cafe in Barcelona, and because it is a bit of a tradition thing for us to eat in the Hard Rock (following our Honeymoon Hard Rock visit) thats where we will be heading. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Anyone else crazy enough to be planning this far ahead?

Anyone else got any Barcelona restaurant recommendations?
DH John is going to Barcelona in February and I am going to have him check out potential restaurants. I think my DD's friend spent a semester in Barcelona during college. I am going to get her email address to chat about Barcelona and get her input.

I have just come across this interactive map which might be useful for anyone planning any sightseeing in Barcelona. It doesn't give the streets or anything, but highlights the major sights and gives photographs etc if you click on the areas -also gives a basic idea of where each place is.

http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/maps/barcelona-map.html

I think that entire site is very helpful. It also has a map from the airport to the port, info about taxi's etc.

See now I feel completely unorganised! Still haven't sorted out hotels yet well at least for Barcelona! That's my job for this week! Did book the airport lounge in Heathrow though for flying out! - I know my priorities are a little weird with this one!

I wouldn't feel unorganized. I am just super anal about hotels and want certain ones. I think you are way ahead of me having your flight booked.

we need this link on page one and/or the web site!

.

I think we should have another thread devoted to tips and TA recommendations for sightseeing etc. Perhaps it could also be on the other website that is mentioned on the first page.

I also read in my Insight guide and on the Barcelona web site read that taxi drivers charge a 1 Euro per bag charge.

Anyone else read or know of this charge?

Ciao for now,

Noel

We are still here. We generally don't post alot, but we are lurking. :surfweb: I (Jon) am generally the one that does the initial research and planning, then my DW (Candida) will work on the smaller details and activities. So, keep posting your ideas and finds, it makes my life easier :thumbsup2.

We haven't booked flights yet since we are trying to work out the pre and post cruise travel. We are planning to get into Spain at least a couple days in advance, but it depends on our good friends schedule.

Hi all checking back in for an update on my handicapped room.

Thank you for all your finger crossing and pixie dust. You can now relax :goodvibes

We now have a room. It is room 6000. Which is a category 8 :) inside deluxe state room with a window. We had booked a catrgory 11 :)

So this is are first ever disney upgrade. Most important we have a room :)

So I won the battle with hubby. When I said disney would not let us down.

:cool1::cool1::thumbsup2

That's great news:thumbsup2. I noticed that we have a small number of families from the semi southern Ontario area. Who would be up for a pre cruise meet? Maybe late spring/earliy summer range?

I hope so too :goodvibes:goodvibes

:scared1::scared1: Oh no - we used to have some sort of priority seating thing with the HRC but I think it expired ....will have to get there early and hopefully we'll get in! I love the HRC - great food and no surprises - which is always a good thing when you are such a fussy eater as myself ;)

I know! That was why we were going there but I think we grabbed a Subway instead!

Funny, I was walking my beagles(on the lead)and I was thinking that, I could not even keep up with this thread before, wonder where our captain is?
I hope you are coping ok Kathy, x

Def fancy the fountain thing, I just love walking about

We went to every hard rock on our western cruise last year for a tshirt, am kinda addicted to them also, best one... newyork, easily, worst ..warsaw, easily. gotta have a glass of wine and a thirt:thumbsup2
We went to hard rock for our xmas dinner at work last year, I orginized it:lmao:

We had such a nice day, shame I was at work:guilty:but off now for a week, we are away to Aviemore for the weekend, doing a half marathon, really looking forward to it, what a doddle that will be after last weekend!

Its great chatting to you guys:grouphug:

My God you are far too energetic! Even the thought of a half marathon makes me tired!

Only half the flight is booked! Still need return one!

I think Tips is a good idea on Another thread but the other board isn't used by many of us at all I don't think.

I thought you could go online and do it regardless??

I hope so - I will certainly try!

we need this link on page one and/or the web site!

.

We need the Capt to do that!

I know! That was why we were going there but I think we grabbed a Subway instead!

Subway is always a good alternative to have on standby!

It might take awhile! Captain Jack hasn't been posting since July and I think Brooklyn is still off as well!

I might try and blast everyone with a Facebook message - see who's still with us and who has jumped.

Definitely a good idea Noel. We must try and find our absent Captain and get that done!

I am still here. We returned last week from our Adventures by Disney trip to Prague, Salzburg, and Vienna. We had a wonderful time and saw some very beautiful Austrian countryside. We are in the midst of planning our New Years trip to WDW and with nine of us going it was fun making our ADR's from Prague when the window opened up. The internet kept crashing so I had to make them with my cell phone. I told the woman on the other end I was calling from Europe at $2.29 per minute and she had me off the phone in 6 minutes with everyjting booked including the candle light prcessional. Talk about great service. As soon as that trip is over we will be concentrating on the cruise, but have made sure we have all our transportaion and hotels lined up.

It did take me a while to catch up, but I am still out here lurking.

Looks like lots of us are busy planning and getting things sorted out.
Us... we're still in for the long haul of this cruise.:banana:

Just busy taking care of the house, I go into surgery Wednesday, home by Friday(I hope). Nothing too serious. But down for a few weeks. So, I'll be a "looker" for a while. So post, and I'll read alot!:rotfl2:
