I can't really help you because I have only ever booked directly with Dreams Unlimited - but I am sure if you contact them by email they will be able to help you with changing your reservation. If you have moved your reservation to DU then I would contact them in the first place.

Yes, just send an email to DU with your reservation number from DCL and someone will contact you. We have worked with different people there and all have taken care of us, including responding to emails at midnight Pacific time when we were all having trouble booking Palo one night. That impressed me. That was 3 am FL time!

Just wanted to pop in and say we got it all taken care of and DU does totally rock! Such awesome and timely response.

Told the inlaws tonight about the plan so starting to feel real now for sure! HA!

Just checking in again, been back from our 2 weeks in WDW just over a week now. It has taken a while for me to catch up, you guys have been very busy, lots of news to catch up on. :surfweb:
We have booked our flights to Barcelona with BA flying from Newcastle via Heathrow arriving on the Friday afternoon and staying overnight at the Le Meridien. Waiting to see what the prices will be when the flights back to the UK open up, we are pretty flexible with return dates as we will be staying at SSR for up to a week after the cruise. :cool1:
We had a great time at SSR this year, we had requested Congress Park, high floor and overlooking DTD, and that was exactly what we got. :thumbsup2 Really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and chilling out with a cold drink.
Hope everyone is well and has a good weekend.

Sounds wonderful - pleased you had such a great time! I can't wait to book our flights!

Glad you got it sorted. I've never booked with a TA so had no advise I'm sorry.

LOL would have taken him at least 20 pages to have cracked this one and I did it in 1 :rotfl2:
you are a star sarah!

wow, I almost feel like I am intruding upon a family gathering or something. You all have been here a long while!

We just booked this cruise on our last (1st cruise ever) cruise just a couple weeks ago (7 day western carib).

Anyway, total newbie here to traveling overseas so my question today is this:

Is it really going to cost me 3x the amount to fly one way from the USA to Barcelona as it would a round trip ticket? I am soooo confused!

We would fly out of PHL (Philadelphia altho Baltimore is a possibility as well, heck I'd get myself to NJ or NYC for a deep enough discount).

We could fly into someplace else across the pond and take another flight too. Whatever works out to be most reasonablly priced.

Anyone have any advice at all? Is it to soon to book or should I be looking now? What price range should I be looking for?

Oiy! :confused3 Please help my Disboard friends!
:grouphug:hi. dont ay that, we are so happy to have another ship mate.
Hello all. I've been back from Japan for a few weeks now, but it took me forever to catch up reading all the posts. I missed the 1 year mark on the boards, but definetely remembered on September 18th and it made me smile... ALOT...

Just wanted to say thank you for the advice on Disney in Tokyo. I made it without any issues and had a great time. Ended up spending a full day at DisneySea and it was incredible. Could have spent 2 or 3 days there easy. Sorry I didn't make it to Disneyland there, but so glad I saw the park that was more unique. The level of detail was amazing. Without saying ANYTHING bad about Disney World (because I love it), the buildings here put Epcot to shame. I felt completely transported. I especially loved the Mysterious Island/Jules Verne area, and Triton's Kingdom.

I took way too many pictures, but I'm not sure how to share any. If anyone is interested in seeing some, please let me know and help me figure out how to share.

Next Disney related trip planned is this cruise. Time to get planning!
gland you enjoyed.
I booked a room for us for 2 nights at Hotel Continental Barcelona today. One decision made. Now for airfare, we have no points, can fly from anywhere so that means even more decisions. But we do want to spend a week or so at WDW when we return so we will want to fly from the East somewhere.....somewhere to Barcelona. :rolleyes1

Popping In to say hi :)

OT sortof. . .

I'm not sure where to ask this so I am going to try here?!

We rebooked while on our first cruise for this cruise. We asked that it be transfered to a DU agent BUT did not give a specific name.

I feel really kind of guilty saying this but our first agent really never did to much for us and seemed to know nothing more then I knew from the Disboards. Now, it is true, the only reason I went with them was for the OBC but LOTS of my cruise mates at least got a card or some small gift in their stateroom to acknowledge using DU, us? Nothing. Still, not a big deal. We did book CAt12GTY(2 cabins tho) so not much $$$ in it for TA, I get that.

What I need to know is should I have had a contact yet from DU? I haven't heard a peep but am already seeing cabins open up (that were not available when I booked onboard) that I want to move my reservation too)

what do I do? I only have general contact info and my old agents email addresses?

Maybe that $100 bucks really isn't worth giving up so much hands on control? But it might be the only (besides DCL) credit I have to spend! ugh!

what to do? who to contact first (DCL or DU?)

I really want a cat11 on Deck 7 but only 10's are showing right now. Still better then the 9 we have booked. I KNOW this seems backwards to those of you who like port holes and verandahs but we really do not care and loved our cat11 on Deck 7!

I also so not want to lose my 10% discount and double OBC from booking onboard. . .

Can anyone help me???
Was going to post that they have been good with me, 100 bucks is a hundred bucks, but you seem to have it fixed.

Happy saturday everyone,

Just taking a quick break from working on my FE gifts for next months cruise.
I hope to finish them today.
We have a cool but sunny day today. Its probably one of the last before winter sets in. So I best enjoy it while I can.

Time to get back to work on the FE gifts,

Have a great weekend everyone,

Kathy

Okay, probably been asked a hundred and seven times but
What am I doing wrong in getting that logo up in my signature?

I've only ever posted a few pics from my picassa acct one time so I am new to importing images of any kind, tuturial anyone?

I am such a techno dweeb!

That's exactly the text that I have in my signature so it should work. But make sure your overall signature block isn't too big and falling over the size limits. I used to have another countdown ticker in my signature that I could see when I previewed the signature, but it was truncated off the page on actual posts. Try posting it up earlier in your signature, and previewing it to see if it works or not.

Hi all, its been a good few months (oops) since I checked in here and I'm going to try to check in a bit more often now.

Mum and I did a trip around the north of Australia so that was taking up all my planning time so now I need to get a bit more serious about this trip.

In the next couple of weeks we need to finalise our itinerary so we can book our airfares and also our DVC.

Mum has family she might want to visit in the UK and possibly DH will do the same so we may all travel independently of each other and meet up in Barcelona a few days before. Mum also threw out the idea of going to DLP first too and realistically when traveling to the complete opposite side of the world one extra stop won't make much difference.

We also need to decide how long we need in Florida afterwards - probably a couple of weeks as we need to use up the rest of this years points and ideally all of next years as well.

I'm also guessing we may need to get "round the world" tickets which will probably be cheapest but not necessarily - its hard to tell and its gonna be a nightmare for our TA if we all go separately :rotfl2:

Oh decisions, decisions and to be fair Mum and DH will say "I don't mind" so I'll just have to tell them what, when and where.

We are also dithering over an idea of not going into the parks and instead maybe do Sea World/Universal and if the weather is nice the water parks, mini golf etc - in other words all the things we've said we'd do in the past but never actually done because we were in the parks. We'll see how that pans out...

Anyway I hope to not be away so long this time! ;)

Hi Paula

Sounds a complicated set - up with everyone travelling separately. Hope you get everything sorted out. It will be a great feeling when everything comes together :yay:

Sounds like a mammouth trip for you all but you're right about the travelling so far thing. We are definately doing Disney but may add in Seaworld for 1 day! We decided against Universal as the new Harry Potter section seems to concentrate on rollercoasters and I don't do these anyway.

Wow! See this is the kind of stuff I loved to plan when I was training to be a TA way back when. :cloud9:

John and I spent yesterday pouring over the Barcelona and Madeira books that I bought at our local bookstore. Keplers is this great bookstore in Menlo Park where you can sit in comfortable chairs for hours sipping tea and pouring over books which I always end up buying.

John is going to Barcelona in February for conference so he is going to check out transportation, hotels etc.

I think we are going to fly in on Wednesday and sightsee on Thursday and Friday. We have our hotel arrangements made, so now what it left is to decide what we places we want to visit in Barcelona

I am going to buy the Barcelona Card to get the museum discounts.

Four things have jumped out as must see places:

1.The Picasso Museum http://w3.bcn.es/V66/Home/V66XMLHomeLinkPl/0,4589,417470534_417617303_3,00.html
2. Museu Matrim

3.Barcelona Cathedral and Museum
http://www.sacred-destinations.com/spain/barcelona-cathedral-la-seu
4. La Sagrada Família
http://www.sagradafamilia.cat/sf-eng/index.php

Anybody have any further suggestions?

Ciao for now,

Noel
