How about exploring Barcelona with us in a Go Car ??? They were great in San Francisco and they have them in Barcelona ....

Go Car Tours

Melissa and I will be doing this , and from the look of it I dont have to wear a silly helmet so it looks like Jacks Hat and Elvis glasses for Barcelona ..(and Yes these will be the ones from the PC that ended up at the bottom of the ocean in Aruba and were recovered by yours truly ..)

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You won't get lost this time will you??

Definitely will think about it. The FAQ didn't say anything about a minimum age. I would think it would be okay for DS to be a passenger.

I wouldn't mind doing the bike tour again...maybe this time I'll get to experience the beginning of it. LOL.

That's one reason we plan on going in early and having time in Spain, not just Barcelona, to me flying over and not spending some time in Spain would be so sad... especially since my DH has been there and wants to show me his heritage. Several generations ago, but nonetheless - important to him.

I di not know you were going. Yeah it is like a repeat sisters cruise, only better:thumbsup2

...I am beaming with pride right now for my brother, his son and son-in-law. My brother owns a cargo company at Dulles Airport and is now all over the news for shipping the equipment the Navy will use to search for the Air France flight that went down.....

That is *AWESOME* that they've done so much to help so many! What great men!

The AirFrance flight demise is so sad, and I really hope that now they've found the site that they can learn something from it for the safety of future passengers.

On the previous WBTA, we were on the ship for 1 full day before we departed. The muster drill was surprisingly held at 3pm on the day we boarded, not the day we departed.....Now if we are really departing at 4pm maybe DCL will fly us in a day early then I'll have time to explore the city some more. I can't imagine them being okay with international arrivals within 2-3 hours of the departure time.....

Oh that would be *so* nice if we had the full day before departure as you did! It's too bad that the 10-night Med debarks on the 18th instead of the 17th...although I know all of you doing the back-to-back wouldn't want to see that change! If they stick with the 4:00 departure, it is going to be interesting to see how they handle that for all of those flying across the pond.

We have returned home, so it's time to check in on this thread.

The cruise was fabulous. We visited 33 ports in 12 countries.

One highlight was Tanah Lot Temple in Bali. Built in the 15th century, it sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide. Breathtaking!

How awesome ! The pic was beautiful.
Then there are some of us that had to stay behind and work instead of cruising the world. :)

Yikes! They can't have people planned to arrive that late for an international flight! They'll *have* to change their flight plans for most of the same-day arrival people!

Kathy brings up a good conversation point. Has anyone had experience with late night sailings to speak to when the Muster Drill would occur? I would think it couldn't be until close to departure time because the majority of guests need to participate. If they went back to the 9:00 all-on-board for departure, it seems possible that some may not arrive until within maybe two hours of that time, if it be due to travel or because people are sightseeing Barcelona.

Last time they still had boat drill at 4 something and said you had to be on board then if you had checked in

Work schedules wont allow us to go early or we would do that too.
I may call and ask about it when its a bit closer to the cruise.:goodvibes

We have a similar issue but may need to relook at this nearer the date

I know it would be great! Shame really

Glad you've safely returned home and had an amazing time! Your description of the Tanah Lot Temple being breathtaking is so right. I'm sure the picture doesn't even give it justice. Wow!

Woody - Welcome back!!! Sounds like it was an awesome cruise and the picture is fantastic!

This morning I went online to make a payment towards the total due on this trip. Logging on to my reservation, we were still shown as GTY. When the screen popped back up after the partial payment was made, there was a room assignment! I was quite surprised. Room 5004, which I know has some good qualities (quiet room because it is on a floor with so few rooms), but, since we have no kids, really wasn't thinking of the kids floor as our space when we upgraded to a category 8. Hmmm. Will have to think about this one.

I'd have a nose at what people think of it. It might be a nice place.

Yes, I've looked around now at opinions of this area. Seems most everyone loves the location. There are only a couple of exceptions: folks who didn't like hearing the theatre noise below them during show time. Other than that it seems to be very quiet, so that sounds great to us. Hey, I have a room! :goodvibes That must mean we really are going on this trip.

Exactly! :cool1:

I wondered if this was the case and they just want everybody on board for the boat drill, but still won't leave until later in the evening.

Congratulations for the room assignment. That was early. I just went and checked if we have been assigned a room, but we are still GTY. I actually quite like the idea of deck 5.

We had 5013 and were please with it. We never heard any theater noise, possibly we were not far forward enough? Or more than likely we really were never in the room except late at night. My only complaint was that my room was right next to a cast member entrance. The door slammed a lot because it was a self closing door and no one took the time to soften the close. But again, we weren't in there often enough to really be bothered by it. You'd be far enough forward and on the other side of the hall, so it shouldn't be an issue.
