TA, is it just me, but what is with disney that makes me cry?

Whats everybodys holiday/vacation plans before the cruise?

I have nairn for a week in october (loch ness marathon)
Switzerland in january (skiing) yeehaaaa
Pitlochry and st andrews for a week in summer, now I am focused on "the " cruise I am seriously excited!!!!!!

OK so mine sounds quite boring in comparison to everyone elses but here goes:

Beginning of September - Girlie weekend in Devon at Haven Caravan Park
End of September - Romantic weekend (yeah right) in Tenby at Haven Caravan Park
Mid October - Trip to Alton Towers (no Haven involved lol)
LONG WAIT TO THE CRUISE!!!!!!!

I hope that you will have a speedy recovery and that the surgery was successful.

I am glad that you had a good time. I have yet to see Disneyland Paris when the Christmas decorations have not been up. We usually got either late November or over Christmas. Last year I go an annual pass as this worked out cheaper then a multi-day hopper pass and had every intention to go back in spring or summer, but it just never happened.

I am still busily planning our fall vacation. The lanyards that I had made for our cruise in October arrived yesterday and look stunning. They are so soft as well. The cards with our cruise meet logo arrived a couple of weeks ago and look great. Now I just have to order the plastic pouches and I can start putting them together. I can't wait to give them out.

I think I finally have a pirate costume sorted out as well. I really wanted to get dressed up properly on Pirate Night this time round and with the two Transatlantic cruises coming up as well, it made sense to get organized. I have been looking everywhere for plus sized pirate costumes, but the ones that I found were all too revealing for my taste. Well, I think I might just have found the solution. While out shopping on Wednesday, I found a nice pink maxi skirt on the sales rack and an indigo gypsy top as well. This instantly screamed "Pirate" to me. When I got home, I had a look on Ebay and managed to get a silver and black corset at a very good price. I intend to wear this over the gypsy top. Now I just need a head scarf, a triangular piece of fabric or lace to tie round my waist and a few accessories and the pirate wench should be complete. I suppose it is a bit of a modern twist on the pirate theme, but I am sure it will do nicely. Now I just have to make up my mind if I want to do MNSSHP. I suppose as I am bringing the costume anyway, it will make sense.

Corinna

You've sorted your costume? Oh my! I need to get to work!

We have loads planned:
The first weekend in September I will go on a Girly Weekend in Birmingham with some people from the UK community board.

The weekend after we are going to Germany for my sister's wedding

At the end of September we are heading to Florida for three nights offsite, 7 nights on the Magic and 9 nights at WDW

After all this I still have about two weeks leave left that I have to take before the end of the year so we might try for a last minute cruise somewhere in Europe if I can get interline rates.

Next April, all going well, we will be on the Eastbound Transatlantic on the Magic

So there is plenty to look forward to.

Corinna

OK that sounds far too much fun! Very Jealous here. Want to take me in your bags?

WE just had (this week) our sewer system put in, they had to go thru our backyard. What a mess!:scared1:
So.... our plans before the cruise is to build a cool boat bay for our racing canoe and storage for the yard tools. And add the covered patio on the north side of the pool. It will look awesome!
Doesn't sound exciting... but for me... it's a blue ribbon job!:rotfl2:
And do 2 races: Tempe Town Race(april) and Lake Las Vegas(october).

Ann :rolleyes1

Ann

Ann we want pictures! Sounds exciting to me!

Your wench outfit sounds great

Well, this makes our pitiful plans seem very small :sad2:. We are doing 4 days at Disneyland in October with niece and her family who have never been there. To share our magic is always exciting for us. :yay: In the winter we may take a month or so in the RV and go to AZ. Next summer we plan to RV across the northern US and fly to Barcelona from "somewhere back east" where flights are cheaper, storing the RV while we are gone then RV back home after the cruise.

Hey at least you get to Disneyland lol. I only have 12 days of vacation before the next cruise and I'm already itching for Disney

My knee is healing quite nicely. I'm in a lot less pain today than yesterday. I have the bulky bandage off and just a piece of gauze and tape over the wound. The left side of my knee is numb, but the feeling will come back soon enough. Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

As far as any holiday plans before the cruise...

Well, Dave and I have our honeymoon to WDW in October and after that who knows! It will probably depend upon where I get a job. We'll see!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Oh I'm glad the knees healing! Fingers crossed it will be a lot better soon!

YEAH! You know Peg & I will be here waiting for our :grouphug:

I have six weeks till my WDW/Cruise adventure (8 nights at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and 7 days DCL to Tortola). I've got vacation time at Thanksgiving which was going to be a trip to Chicago, but now my sister will come here instead. Also have a few days at Christmas to play with family. Unfortunately I no longer have a reservation on the EBTA as my travel companion had to cancel and I have other financial obligations. (The occasional lottery ticket may be purchased in hopes of reversing that situation). THIS cruise is still on the plans however, as I have more time to save up.

Now I need to come up with some inexpensive adventure for next spring...a drive to Disneyland comes immediately to mind! :thumbsup2

.

Oh I'm getting very jealous now. Your Tortola cruise should be fab. Youll have to critic the stop for us.

Based on some logistical issues, we just jumped ship. We will be sailing the Eastern Transatlantic in April rather than with all you good people in September. We will get the ship all warmed up for you! Have a great cruise.

Sorry to hear this!

Yes, thankfully we live close enough to DL that we get there at least a couple of times a year. We were there in June, bought an annual pass as we are going again in Oct. Of course with that annual pass in hand we will just have to go (maybe twice) again before it expires again next June. :rolleyes1

How funny Angie...we bought our annual pass last June and are planning on an October trip also! I tell you, it is a small world. We are planning on being there 10/21 - 10/24...doing the Halloween party one of those days. Sister Susan is planning the trip...I'm along for the ride. Hope to see you there!

Linda

I am not quite as organized as it sounds. My next cruise is only 67 days away and I am wearing the costume for Pirate night on that. It just so happens that I have two other cruises planned for which this will come in handy, one of which happens to be ours.

LOL I don't blame you in the slightest. Get your moneys worth that's my moto! I know when I worked in Disney in 2003/04 I was one of the few CM's that spent their days off at the parks but I had to get as much in as possible. Even now I find myself longing to be able to pop to Animal Kingdom for half hour lol

We will be there Oct 12-15. Too bad we can't go at the same time.

My cousin's daughter is a CM at WDW and wherever we are there she spends her free time (days off, before and after shifts) playing with us at the parks. She is a true Disney lover as well so I understand.

Is anyone else going to the D23 Expo? We will be at Disneyland 9/6-11, staying at the Grand Californian. We can only go to the first day of the Expo, because we have to travel to Seattle, then Vancouver, for an Alaskan cruise.

I have only been to Disneyland one day before this, as opposed to hundreds of days at Disney World. We have the 3-day military Park Hopper ticket for this trip. Any suggestions on the best plan for 3 days?

Marilyn

Hi everyone!

The Shmoo is here. I'm still around, just lurking more than participating.

Whats everybodys holiday/vacation plans before the cruise?

In May we went to Arizona to check out potential retirement areas.
In September we'll be crusing to Alaska.

Are you doing the Inside Passage (HAL Zuiderdam)? That's what we're doing Sept. 19!

:cutie:

Glad there's others of us who keep the Disney spirit after working there.

Pitlochry and st andrews for a week in summer, now I am focused on "the " cruise I am seriously excited!!!!!!

My plans are all possible rather than definites. but this is what we are hoping for:

August 2009 - weekend in Somerset with out cruise buddies!
Feb 2010 - a few days skiing in France with friends.
July 2010 - something with DS - if DD gets on the college programme we will go to WDW to visit with her, If she doesn't get on that we may just do a cheap Med cruise or Disneyland Paris.
September 2010 - The Transatlantic Disney Magic! :yay:

Your lanyards sound great - I think we need a photo when they are all finished!

Pirate costume sounds great too! You will be a very trendy pirate. We wore our cruise pirate costumes for MNSSHP too - it cut down on the packing!
