We are up for lots of DIS meets. You meet the nicest people that way!! :grouphug: Promonade Lounge at 3 is a popular first meet.

I got a quote for a bus to pick up a the praktik barclona and praktik rambla to the port. It was 229 euros. That was for 30 people on a 55 passenger bus. I ask for that amount because the disers like to pack and we will all have a seat. it equals to 7.64 euros per person. with is $10.60 cents a person before the conversion fee and credit card fees. It would be about $15.00 per person.

Im jealous... Can they swing by the HIExpress and pick us up too? I think there are 4 or so rooms of Dis'ers there...

We've done the brunch on every cruise we've been on, and just love it. On our Wonder cruise a few weeks ago, DH and I even opted to skip Palo dinner so we could do brunch instead, since we didn't have enough days inbetween to do both.

I hear you on the doing things with kids. How old are your kids? We'll have a 3 and 6 yr old with us, so segways, gocars, and other things are definitely out. I'm still looking for good things that we can do with them the 2 days we'll be in Barcelona pre-cruise. But at least you'll have an apartment. I'm taking the cheap way out and using Marriott points for the Renaissance near the airport for us and my in-laws.

When do iyou arrive? We get in Thursday 9AM and are at the HIExpress. We will have a 6 and 13 year old with us, so we are in the same boat - no segways unless DH and DS want to go. I was looking at the excursions and trying to figure out what to do... The kids want the Chocolate Factory tour, zoo, and aquarium. I want Goudy...

I love Princess Bunny!!!!!!! Those pictures were too cute!

I went on a 'job interview' yesterday - the first one since I got laid off. It turned out to more of an infomercial for this insurance company than anything else. The job was the sell insurance - I can hardly sell a $2.99 dome tumbler at the Disney Store, how am I going to see life insurance?! LOL! Needless to say, it wasn't for me. They work a 6 day work week and I can't imagine doing that and having a family (when the time comes of course). So it was a no go, but I'm still looking!

I ordered the Deluxe 2010 DCL Passporter the other day! :yay: I didn't want to spend the money on it, but I worked a lot one week and I thought I would treat myself. I can't wait to get it in the mail...it won't be for a while yet, but I'm excited for it to come.

Tomorrow I'm working the Perfect Princess Party at the Disney Store. I can't wait! We're teaching the Princesses in Training the proper curtsy, wave, and how to drink tea! It is going to be so cute! There are two sessions (I'm not sure if they are doing them in the UK or not), 11 am - 11:45 am and 1 pm - 1:45 pm. You don't need to sign up, just show up! Feel free to have your princess dress up in her princess attire!

:)

I don't know if i have the time to organize the bus right know. I got the price quote about a week just for info and it already expired. If somebody wants to be in charge of this i can send them the info i have or at least keep a list of names, number of people and which of the praktik you are staying at. If we do this we should do this closer to a paid in full date. Also that price may and will change do to the exchange rate and bus rates

We're flying in early Thursday morning. We're staying at the Renaissance by the airport, but plan to head into town both days to see the sites. I want to find things that are uniquely Barcelona, but no super long historical tours. We may do the hop on hop off bus tour on Thursday to give us an overview of the city since we've never been, but still to be decided.

I was looking at the hop on/off as well. I want the kids to experience where we are... My kids have other ideas... :) My son would do the historical tours - but he is a history freak - the older the better. (Gibralter will be "his" island...) My DD who will be 6 isn't particular...

So a few weeks ago we did Chinese food for lunch. My fortune was "You wil soon cross a great ocean on a fantastic trip". My staff all thought it was funny and asked how much I paid for that one... :) I should play the lottery with the numbers...

About 2 weeks ago we ordered 2 sets of matching luggage. Ours was old, beaten up and didn't match. It has arrived!!! :cool1: The new set has the feature where you can strap one bag onto another, so it should be easier to haul it around. I figure my 12 year old son can drag both full sets behind him as we walk around... :lmao: He probably wouldn't appreciate that as much as I would...

It is starting to feel much closer than it is, but thats ok... I am blaming the threat of an ice storm - something about the crummy weather makes me want to get on the Magic NOW!!!

Sue, we and PJ have moved our reservations to the Praktik Barcelona. A little less money and closer to the DIS action. :thumbsup2

Depending on when it would leave, you can count us in as well for the bus transfer!
.....
Don't know if anyone is interested but I think Gus and I are going to book this tour on one of our days before the cruise...
http://www.barcelonasegwayglides.com/

We've done both Segway Tours at WDW and in Washington DC and loved it so can't wait to do this one!!

Diddo on the bus transfer.

I did the Nassau tour on my Wonder cruise specifically to see if I could segway, loved it!

I was thinking about the 3pm tour on the Friday. But I only arrive on Friday and should be at my hotel by 1pm, but I don't know if this is a good idea to book?

There is also a 10am tour (10-12) that would be cool if one could drop their luggage at the port, segway and then back to check in for the ship on Saturday.

We haven't looked at tour times yet since our flight isn't finalized yet but I'll repost when we have a better idea of our schedule. The Friday one looks good but we might have to do it sooner in the week to get an idea of what else we want to see!!

All I know is we better not get robbed.

That sounds great.

We really fancy the Segway tour. We have done both the WDW ones and loved them. It looks like you really get around and see quite a bit too. It might be fun for a few of us to do the same one.:):)

Since we are coming in on Thursday morning on 9/09 we should be old Barcelona hands by the time you all come in. If I can get my computer up and running when we get there, I will post some of our adventures on this thread and answer any last minute questions you may have.

Thanks ... that would be great :goodvibes

Thats an excellent price ... thanks for looking this up Stephen. DH and I would like to be included from the Praktik Rambla.

I keep hearing Aer Lingus as doing reasonable one way fares, but I guess you will have to change in Dublin. Try looking at the US airlines. Unfortunately the low cost option of Flyglobespan has disappeared now.:sad2:
