There must be some worn out keyboards around the world. I thought I would pop in a check what has gone on in the past 36 hrs. but you have gone through 4 pages.

Looks like there is good news and bad news mixed in.

Now for some more bad news or do you want the good news first. Well if you chose the good first hit you page down key a few times to skip the bad news.

Bad news alert
I landed in Winnipeg at 705pm on Saturday but due to the roads stayed with family friends there. Got a phone call at 3am from my mom saying Candida was feeling well and wondering what our coverage was in the US if she need to go the hospital. Well for those that can figure out where this is going you can skip a couple lines. At 8am another phone call, after availing themselves of the ambulance service in North Dakota, Candida was admitted to the hospital in Cavalier, ND. Looks like she decided to get a case of kidney stones. So, back to the airport for me. Being a Sunday it was the only place could find a rental car business open. I then applied my fine winter driving skills from southern Ontario and pointed the car towards ND. By 1230 I was walking into Candida's room. Oh, I forgot, when I pulled up to the boarder the first question out of the agents mouth "where is you rear licence plate?" My reply "it was there when I left Winnipeg, guess it couldn't keep up with the car." So, the second half of my reply is what I was thinking. But honestly, somewhere between the airport and the boarder the plate came off. So that is the bad news.

Good News:

We are still going on the cruise, one way or another.:cool1:

No matter how bad things get, we always have to look for the good in it. In this case it is just that I don't get to share my money with Disney but with the health care providers of Pembina County Memorial Hospital. Seriously, it is that there are friends out there that we haven't met who are thinking of us in times of trouble.

Thanks in advance
Jon

Jon give Candida my best. You guys have reaLly been through it these last few weeks but sounds like you have the best attitude and we should all take a lesson from you! Big hugs!

We have only ever had cat 11, ofcourse if money was no object we would have a balcony, but it is so we settle and are very happy without, it means we can go more cruises, also, the time when i want to relax and look at the view is around 6pm, decks are empty. I just take a glass of wine up to deck 10 and sit there. It is such a personal thing whether or not to get a balcony, no rights or wrongs!

Lynne Welcome back! Can't see the pics as in work and for some reason they dont show but will look later when I get home.

I'm quite happy without the balcony. Don't mind being inside as think you get less motion anyway lol.

Im still hoping that maybe the Disney gods will upgrade me to a porthole just so Dan has something to look out of but I don't care if they don't as I wont be lol. And I agree, glass of wine on Deck 10 or even on Deck 9 with feet in the hottub(not that I would ever be seen doing this :rotfl2: ) is perfectly wonderful for me

So sorry to hear that you guys are having such a rough time with it. Kidney stones are awful. Have had 3 bouts myself - and if I have a fourth I may ask DH to just shoot me... pixiedust: sent your way to help ensure a speedy recovery :)

We are still going on the cruise, one way or another.:cool1:

Glad that you will still make it!

OK so been checking out another thread and if people are interested this is what the 11 night Baltics are showing as their schedule for meals:

Let the Magic begin - This is one that was on the last TA and menus are/were on the website (hopefully theyll be on there soon if not)

Prince and Princess- Formal (Sea) - Menu on website as on last TA

Rotational dining - Most of the menus on website as on last TA

Villians- Semi Formal - New one I assume to match the new show

Pirates - On website

Flavors of Scandinavia - This I would assume we will get Flavours of the Med which is on the website

Captains Gala- Semi Formal - Again on the website

Till We Meet Again - Again on the website

I assume that the menus that are/were on the website will be very close to those that end up being available so glad to see some old classics on there! Can't wait

Aaaaargh, this site is sooooo slow!!!

Anyway, how many groups have booked apartments? I'm still looking.

I was given this link of a company very well thought of. Someone might be interested. I've seen a few on here I fancy. Minimum 3 nights though.

My Grandmother's funeral is today. Things have been very hectic with the arrangements and legal things we have had to handle. She lived a long life ans died on my birthday at 95 years old. Yesterday when I was writing the eulogy, so many wonderful memories were coming to mind and I realized that if I had so many wonderful memories there had to be many more people with their own memories and what a wonderful woman she was. I did not realize the true scope of the the woman until she passed away and I sat down to write the eulogy.

Donna
Offering you belated sympathy, hope all went well and all the best memories came back

TA2,is on the ship.

Thank you all for such great information an great fun.
Welcome to the crew:)

Jon,
Sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers are with you both.
Sue

Thank you

I am a first time poster to this forum and still have a lot to learn. I am cruising on the WB TA cruise on 9/18/10.

Welcome to this group of dis-fits (or misfits) which ever you classify yourself as.:)
Jon--I am so sorry about the loss of your stepdad:hug: I am also very impressed with your ability to keep laughter in your life throughout the trying times.

Thank you, I believe that no matter how bad we think it is there is always someone going through worse.

That was a mental image I really didn't need :rotfl2:

Where did I put that sharp stick again. Better go find it so I can dig another image out of my mind. Should have known better then to put it away.:headache:

:cheer2::cheer2:MONROE COUNTY DIVISION 1 CHAMPIONS:cheer2::cheer2:

Congrats to you and the team:cheer2: This is about the only cheering I can do.:)

Ok, I have to catch up in blocks!!!switzerland was AMAZIng, everybody should see the alps, just once, glad to be home though! to beagles and own bed!
my butt and legs are black and blue, it is not a good look!

Welcome back, nice pics.

Mind you ... credit card isn't exactly safe. Last week someone tried to do 2 money transfers using my credit card details ... fortunately the company was suspicious and blocked the transactions. I'm not impressed as someone obviously had my credit card details from somewhere :mad:
and now I have had to get a new card.

Saw an interesting show, I think it was Dateline, last night while sitting with Candida in the hospital. They set up a couple fake accounts and within less then 90 seconds of the CC info being placed on "underground" chat sites transactions were being placed around the world. Crime takes such a different face in today's time.

Just a quick hello . I havnt had the time I thought i'd have to keep up with everyone here.
Been nursing a dog after surgery and that has slowed me down. Plus she may need a 2nd surgery, and my mom is very ill still so the two have taken most of my time.

Thoughts and prayers for you:hug:

34 WEEKS TO GO !!!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

So what is that, about 3000 posts to go :lmao: Time is going to fly by.

As many of you know, I was laid off in June. Then the first week of July, my grandmother needed 24x7 live-in assistance, so my life has been about 90% on-hold since then. After many delays and unexpected tragedies, she's recovering from surgery right now!! I'm hopeful to go back to my home in 2-3 weeks (we're about 85 miles apart)! So top priority has to be to get a job before the cruise’s final payment is due because unemployment payment is about to run out, which also means the savings account will be running out sooner than later, and I MUST go on this vacation with all of you!! (Well, I kinda need the money to pay for food and shelter, but ya know....DCL is the golden ticket!). I miss so many of you!

I have to say though, that even if the cards don’t work out that I can come, I have no regrets taking this time to be with grandmother. It’s not been easy, but I feel so blessed to have had all this precious time with her! She went on our last Disney cruise with us, and she knows how badly I want to go on this one! Sooooo, I know there are some prayers going up for that right job to intercept me!

Admittedly, I haven’t had the time to be on DISboards, so I’m very out of the loop. I’ve also been putting off planning in fear that I won’t get to go. This week I decided that I need the encouragement of planning to keep my spirits up! So I’ll do my best to keep up with you all again, although it will be even easier once I get home.

Thoughts a prayers for you

Thought I would try to catch up. We are home bound due to weather right now. If I missed anything I'll through out a general congrats to those with accomplishments and a thoughts and prayers for those going through rough times.

It's Monday, does anyone have a question for the day? And no that is not the question of the day:lmao:

Hello everyone,

Pixie is sleeping so i thought I would take advantage of that to do a quick post.
I have been tied own 24/7 with one of my dogs. Good news came today the agressive tumor they removed wasnt cancer.:woohoo:
but she still wants to pick off her bandages so I have to keep at her 24/7. She cant wear one of those head cones because there just isnt any room in the Rv for that.

Tomorrow when the bandages come off and stay off it will really be hard to keep her from chewing the stitches. To heal properly they need to be open to the air until removed next week now.

I am going to tape a kids sock over her wound at night hoping that will help so I can get some rest.
This weekend I will go visit my mom too. It is a miracle she is still with us so I want to be with her all I can for the time she has left.

By the time this cruise gets here I will really be ready for some relaxation:thumbsup2
I did some reading about excursions but we havnt decided on anything for sure.:confused3

For those who have been before are there any MUST SEE places you can suggest. We really want to make the most of our time there. I would love to hear some suggestions.popcorn::
No kids, just us, so no worries about being kid friendly and we are healthy enough to walk a lot if needed.

I will try to check back later to catch up on reading once Greg gets home from work and can help watch the dogs.

Kathy

Well that's down another notch because at the suggestion of Melodie, I booked Praktik Rambla myself! :goodvibes I booked on their site directly, but before I did, I saw on another site it said they had 4 rooms left. :scared1: I read that they only have 21 rooms, so indeed we should have majority "rule" on the terrace-solarium Friday night!
Wow, only 21 rooms? Well from the sounds of it the cruisers here are taking the entire building! Or close to it. hehe I guess I know where to find DIS central in Barcelona, if need be. hehe

We booked an apartment but we did so thru barcelonapoint.com
You may want to try that website if you aren't planning on staying a min of 3 nights. (we are staying 3 nights but that website doesn't require a minimum -we were looking for one night at first, then 2, then because of the price decided on 3 nights! LOL)

Oh that is so cool! I gotta bookmark her blogspot and live vicariously thru her. hehe It should be really neat to hear how she's doing. :)

My thoughts exactly. If I get a (very) cheap option to upgrade to a balcony I may just take it though.

There is going to be 2 new shows from what I've heard, a Villians show and another one. They don't have Toy Story on the Magic. We will probably have a few shows. On the last 14 nighter I did we had in no particular order:

1. Golden Mickeys - I believe this is now the Villians show
2. Disney Dreams
3. When Mickey Dreams
4. The Art of the Story - which is the other one I think they are replacing
5. Twice Charmed - exclusive to the Magic instead of Toy Story on the Wonder
6. Welcome Aboard Show
7.Goodbye Show
8. Crew Talent Show
9. Movie Premier
10. Susan Egan - the original Belle in the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast
11. Jim Brachan - was that his name? Disney pianist released an album of Disney songs
12-14. Comedians

Sounds very exciting ... I wonder what the movie premier will be. Will have to check out what Disney movies are due out around that time.

For all you Disney crazies... like me... my daughter (one of the ones not going) just began her Disney college program and has a pretty cool blog w/ pix...

My DD is hoping to apply for the college program in summer 2011. We will follow Katey's blog with interest.:goodvibes

Ok - I'm booked in a single.
DS and DIL (TheDisneyGirl02 and DBK1029) are booked in a double.
So we add 3 for total of 5.

:goodvibes:lmao:Terry and I are booked in a twin double. So two more. :goodvibes:goodvibes

And when we finished booking, there was one double left, two singles left and one twin double left. The hotel only has 20 room on September 17th!:goodvibes:dance3::dance3::dance3::yay:

Count is at 9

Good News:

We are still going on the cruise, one way or another.:cool1:

Jon

Jon- Hope Candida makes a fast recovery!

Dorothey (or Jennifer?:confused3 not sure which one of you is posting under kermit Rocks, which BTW is a sentiment I whole heartedly agree with:thumbsup2)--it is nice to know some other children of the 80s are along:dance3: we are still mourning the removal of 80s night from the Rockin' Bar D roster:sad2: Sigh, the kids are a bit warped, but I love htem just the same. There main topics of conversations tend to be 80s movies and music, musical theatre, Disney and Star Trek:rotfl2:

It's Dorothy. :goodvibes I'm sad to hear 80's night has been removed from the Rockin' Bar D roster. But maybe they will include it for our cruise b/c it's 14 days. They will need tons of variety.

Kathy - Great news about your dog!! :cool1:
My kitty had stitches last year. I had to put him in a cone b/c he wouldn't leave them alone. I hope your dog will be just fine and leave the stitches alone.

Just booked our room at the Praktik Rambla !!!!!:dance3::cheer2::banana::cool1::thumbsup2:woohoo:

Welcome! I think we are going to have a blast :dance3:

Ok, I know people have been announcing, but I am curious... How many of us are there now?!? Its like we are hijacking the hotel :rotfl:

We have a twin double - count is 11.
