I'm a lightweight when it comes to reading. Usually pass the time with a fluffy romance novel. Although I did enjoy the Harry Potter series and years ago the Left Behind series.

Through Disney from San Diego to Barcelona then Orlando to San Diego including transfers was just under $1,000 a person for airfare.

Yeah, it's quite a bundle. We're still debating about coming in to Barcelona earlier because who knows if we'll ever have this chance again.

And Stephanie, I LOVE your new banner w/the girls. They look so beautiful and the banner is great! (And I'm glad things worked out the way you needed them to.)

Thank you, that was very helpful! I actually see 3 people whom I've cruised with before; Karen, Bev, and Lindsey! :grouphug:

Glad to help.

So now you're coming, right? No pressure :rotfl: .

Yay! So glad you're well enough to "talk" to us. PD for a quick recovery. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
I'm glad too to be able to get back online! I'm still balancing the computer on my left knee, but at least I feel well enough to write. Thanks for the pixie dust! :)

 AMy, I a mso glad you posted something because I really was worried. OKay, now just keep restig up and getting better. Here's a little pixie dust to speed the recovery along:wizard:
I'm fine, Hadley...but thank you so much for caring so much that you were worried. I'm getting there, everyday gets a bit easier and that's all I can ask for right now. They did tell me at physical therapy that I probably won't be allowed to drive for month! :scared1: Oh well, I'm sure that it will go by quickly.

How's the packing coming?

Hi Guys
Hello new fellow cruisers:goodvibes
How are you all doing?
I am sorry but I have lost where I was before we went away to switzerland.
Had a great time, will post a few piccys when i get a minute.
I am bummed as it is back to work today!!Happy birthday to me(not)

Best book, Dont know, there is so many!

As for Wicked, I tried to read it, I wanted to read it, I got half way through before I finaly gave it up because I was not enjoying it and found it hard going.

 Yeah, well I am the worrying type. Even my firends in high school used to jokingly refer to me as mom. I am truly glad to see you are feeling up to playing online a bit and I hope you recover faster each day. Sorry about the month of no dirving. That must be a hassle.

Packing is going slowly. I am putting most of my energy right now into trying to rent the house (we did have a family look Saturday who seemed pretty interestd and I have peole looking tonight and tomorrow so I am hopeful). Add to taht trying to sell the cars and Dave's motorcycle and packing just keeps slipping by the wayside. My FANTASTIC in laws are comming out on Friday and will stay to help us finish packing up and the like and they are wonderful and really, really good at getting that stuff done. This is the only reason I am not a basket case right now:upsidedow

Welsom back. I can't wait to see the pictures. I understand how you felt about Wicked. Personally I liked Wicked a lot, but had hte exact reaction you described to its sequal-Son of a Witch. I found Confessions of an Ugly Step Sister (same author) MUCH easier to get into than Wicked though. That one I realy liked.

You don't have to pick one BEST book (I think that is a nimpossible task) just name off one or two you like:thumbsup2

Hey Everybody! Happy New Year! It has been a long time since I posted and only read a few pages of posts and it seems everybody is doing well. Stephanie - I didn't read about what was going on, but hope things are better for you. I have been so busy and life has taken me away from the Dis, but I am back and Welcome to all the new people and I missed the old :) Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

I LOVE Carnival Games on Wii. We have it too and that is one reason why I love Toy Story Mania. Animal Kingdom though is one of our fave parks. I love Vince Flynn books but my fave is James Patterson and usually anything he writes, but he does have some that I don't like. Harlan Coben is also good and I think we talked about a book exchange. I will make sure I have some room in my luggage for a few books to bring all of you for the cruise.

I will try and catch up on the last 40 pages, but hope the new year finds everyone well. Getting ready to go to the dentist and I just LOVE that so I will read more when I get back.

Deanna - I think the last time I read your post you didn't book the cruise yet - have you booked? I am excited!

:cool1:  :cheer2: :dance3: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:dance3: :cheer2:  :cool1:

Well I see a lot of my favorite books/authors already mentioned (currently reading Sue Grafton's "S" book). I confess I haven't read the final Harry Potter yet! :scared1: Been waiting to buy it in paperback...shouldn't that be happening soon?

 Hey SeaSpray, hope you join us!

All the harry potter books blend into one for me.

I just read a book called the spellman files when i was on hols, it was good.

I have an autographed copy of that book! The rest of the series is still on my 'to read' list.

.

Hey, thanks for the birthday wishes, I seen that and I am dense, thanks!!!
Not sure I want to read the rest of them, I was so bad when I was reading it, I never even spoke to Len for 3 days, the vet at work said it was great, I was doubtful the first bit of it, then I was hooked.

We haven't had a Question of the Week in a while. So, being a librarian and all, what is a book you have enjoyed (old or new--kids or adult, whatever) enough to recomend it to others????

I like John Jakes books. Historical fiction. I have read a couple of his series over the years and liked them all.

We are driving in Florida now. We made ressies for DVC Vero Beach for 3 nights beginning tomorrow. We have never stayed there so decided to see if we could get in. Then we are at FW for a couple of nights, then SSR for 4 nights. Then touring around FL until Feb 8 when we are back at SSR for another 4 nights. :woohoo: We are really enjoying this retirement gig. The hours are great, too bad the pay is not better! :lmao: :rotfl2:

... And the lovely No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books by Alexander McCall Smith are charming and delightful. ...

Ditto

...Most recently I finished
World without End by Ken Follett, the sequel to Pillars of the Earth

I was a little intimidated by the size (+1k pages!), but it was a really good read and I would recommend it and also Pillars of the Earth....:

Finished Pillars of the Earth, ready to tackle the next gargantuan volume.

Love in the Time of Cholera and 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Hi Angie,
glad to hear you made it to Florida ok. We will be heading that way before June. You got there just in time for a cold front. I just read your only going to be in the 60's;) For Florida that is cold, but it sure sounds better than my temps. I can't wait to get back there!!
Have fun!

Kathy

I'm right there w/you. I did read the whole thing, but I couldn't tell you much about what happened; I just remember wondering what the fuss was about :confused3 . And I really wanted to like it, you know?

All the Harry Potter books

All the Lord of the Rings books

There and Back Again: An Actors Tale - by Sean Austin

Can Reindeer Really Fly - by ? > Brilliant if you want to know the myth and history behind anything to do with Christmas! It's fantastic honestly!
