We are thrilled to be joining you! Positively thrilled!
We are a family of 6:
My mom (Nanna) who is 62 (and is single, with the greatest of respect to my Dad I post that, may he rest in peace)
Me - 37
DP - 43
DS - 11, will be 12 by the sailing date
DD - 9, will be 10
DS - 2, will be 3
DP will become DH when we marry this winter - we're going on our first cruise as a honeymoon. We've been together for 12 years + 3 kids and decided that official marriage was our next need!
We liked the idea of a cruise by ourselves, but I was a little sad that the kids wouldn't be experiencing a cruise with us, so 9 months later we're taking the TA! We plan to explore the region a few days before the cruise, too!
We didn't set out to vacation exclusively with Disney (see signature) but we have been happy. We *will* branch out on our own eventually, and would like to see much of the world, but for now, with the little one, the security, safety and fun of a Disney vacation can't be beat!
I love, love planning so I am happy for this thread! Besides, our cruise is far away - gotta keep busy until then, right?
A little about the kids, both of whom would love to meet up with other kids their ages:
DS- Loves bionicles,
lego, Star Wars, and is a real little man. He's quiet and a bit shy, and a terrific big brother. He loves ideas and concepts, and likes to talk your ears off about Pokemon and their various incarnations, attributes, etc, etc. DS likes to hang out with quieter kids, and likes kids of all ages with the same interests.
DD- Loves animals, fairies, dressing in dresses, singing, and drawing cartoons. She has a passion for stuffed animals, big and small. She is high-energy, a bit prone to innocent trouble, and loves to swim, swim, swim. She's our little mermaid fish. She really likes hanging out with other girls, but she's not too tween-y yet (yay!)
DS The Little - a rowdy half kid, half Mama's baby. Loves sports, books, trains, cars, trucks, swimming, and running around. He has to do like the big kids do, from using a fork and knife to playing with little toys to insisting he can swim (he can't).
As for us adults, we are a chatty bunch that likes both social time and solitude. We are pretty easy-going, but feel that we are very socially- and environmentally- conscious (as much as that contradicts a lot of modes of vacationing that we otherwise enjoy!), and really like good food. I like to spin and knit, I have a high-intensity, high-demand medical job, and I like to plan vacations! DP/DH likes computers, reading, and the outdoors. Nanna likes to read, sing, garden and hang out with her family (she's super-cool!).
That's us - was that too long an introduction?
