Good morning everyone! The weather is absolutely gorgeous here - I can't believe it! Typical now my cruise buddies have gone home - it wasn't so warm when they were here but we were determined to have a few BBQs - even if we had to wear fleeces! It was so great to see them again and I really hope they find a way to do this WBTA cruise with us :wizard:

We lived in Colindale (Edgeware), greater London area for a few years back in the early 90's. We loved it there and would love to visit again for an extended period of time. I do remember the weather. When it would get nice & warm, it was not uncommon to see people sunbathing on top of their cars on the side of the road. We had a hose pipe ban in our borough and I know I looked crazy because when there was a downpour, I would go out and wash the car in the rain.

Just about every weekend, we would get into our car and drive off in a new direction. Found so many lovely towns along the way. And the boot sales...my home is what it is today because of boot sales!:rotfl: To this day, my DH is a boot sale and andebay fanatic!

I finally caught up on all the pages to see what I have missed. I had a heart attack on April 20 and have been recovering, but have not been on the computer much. I am doing much better now and have returned to work, where the heart attack happened. Such an event is a real eye opener. I have changed my exercise schedule and eating habits. I was loosing weight anyway and have lost 35 pounds over the last nine months, but 10 of it has been since the heart attack. I am just grateful to be alive and thank the people at work who reacted so quickly and got me to a hospital within 10 minutes of the first symptom. This cruise can not come soon enough for me.

Congratulations to all who are loosing weight and welcome aboard to all our new folks!!

Glad to hear of your recovery. I've been through numerous heart attacks with my mom, who actually did the 07 transatlantic with me. I really need to get more rigid with my diet and exercise since heart desease runs in my family. Keep up the good work with your efforts.

I'm just wondering if Lorraine has checked in yet. I can not remember her Dis name! Lorraine, are you here????!!!!!

... first of all....

Donna, how scary for you. Hope each day you are getting better.

just trying to catch up with all the posts and staying out of our heat.:cool2:

all is fine here and planning our DL trip!!!:cool1:
it's hard to plan a trip with our DD and her family because of DSIL's job,
he's a deputy sheriff and he's days off he's been working on a movie set on the lake. The movie should be done filming by mid to late june.DH's students will be far enough along with their class , he can leave. And we're bigging out to DL in the 13 of July!!!:yay::woohoo::yay:

gotta run... we're heading for "UP" tonight. Give my report later!

Have a GREAT weekend all you Pirates and Princesses !pirate:princess:

Ann, I hope you enjoyed UP! I can't wait to see it. Sadly, I'm battling strep throat and I'm not bouncing back as fast as I wish I would. My mom says it is because I'm getting older! LOL! I spend the night resting and watching Bolt with my mom. Although I feel crappy, it was a nice night with my mommy! :)

Well... hope you are on the recovery list!

"UP" was great. As usual, Disney does it well. Great story and message for everyone. Be aware of a few parts of a tear jerkers, nothing too bad, but they are there.
Yes, I would see it again.

Oh I'm glad you are on the mend. I know it can be very scary.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I am getting a little more stamina back everyday and am feeling much better. Can't wait for my son's wedding on August 15 and the relief of some of that stress. Let's just say I am glad I do not have a mother-in-law like he is going to have.

We are thrilled to be joining you! Positively thrilled!

We are a family of 6:

My mom (Nanna) who is 62 (and is single, with the greatest of respect to my Dad I post that, may he rest in peace)
Me - 37
DP - 43
DS - 11, will be 12 by the sailing date
DD - 9, will be 10
DS - 2, will be 3

DP will become DH when we marry this winter - we're going on our first cruise as a honeymoon. We've been together for 12 years + 3 kids and decided that official marriage was our next need!

We liked the idea of a cruise by ourselves, but I was a little sad that the kids wouldn't be experiencing a cruise with us, so 9 months later we're taking the TA! We plan to explore the region a few days before the cruise, too!

We didn't set out to vacation exclusively with Disney (see signature) but we have been happy. We *will* branch out on our own eventually, and would like to see much of the world, but for now, with the little one, the security, safety and fun of a Disney vacation can't be beat!

I love, love planning so I am happy for this thread! Besides, our cruise is far away - gotta keep busy until then, right?

A little about the kids, both of whom would love to meet up with other kids their ages:

DS- Loves bionicles, lego, Star Wars, and is a real little man. He's quiet and a bit shy, and a terrific big brother. He loves ideas and concepts, and likes to talk your ears off about Pokemon and their various incarnations, attributes, etc, etc. DS likes to hang out with quieter kids, and likes kids of all ages with the same interests.

DD- Loves animals, fairies, dressing in dresses, singing, and drawing cartoons. She has a passion for stuffed animals, big and small. She is high-energy, a bit prone to innocent trouble, and loves to swim, swim, swim. She's our little mermaid fish. She really likes hanging out with other girls, but she's not too tween-y yet (yay!)

DS The Little - a rowdy half kid, half Mama's baby. Loves sports, books, trains, cars, trucks, swimming, and running around. He has to do like the big kids do, from using a fork and knife to playing with little toys to insisting he can swim (he can't).

As for us adults, we are a chatty bunch that likes both social time and solitude. We are pretty easy-going, but feel that we are very socially- and environmentally- conscious (as much as that contradicts a lot of modes of vacationing that we otherwise enjoy!), and really like good food. I like to spin and knit, I have a high-intensity, high-demand medical job, and I like to plan vacations! DP/DH likes computers, reading, and the outdoors. Nanna likes to read, sing, garden and hang out with her family (she's super-cool!).

That's us - was that too long an introduction?

Donna, glad you are feeling much better. Weddings can put a stress on things so that it easy there.
