I wasn't going to take mine either. I saw that video a couple months ago and I don't know. Donna, are you bringing yours and will you use it? I always think it would be great to videotape the games you play with everybody and the dinners, but I never want to bother once I am there. Do you actually have fun videotaping?

What are cable ties? I've never heard of them and neither has my dh. We don't have them either. Is it something I should go buy?

They're thin strips of plastic with little notches along them, they're pointed at one end, and at the other end is a small opening. you thread pointed bit through the opening and pull and they close tight, and can't be re-opened, you need to cut them. They're made from stong nylon, and are used for holding bunches of cables together.

Get them from the hardware store.

Good evening all!

I'm taking a break from packing - ack I hate it. Do I have too much, too little? Unfortunately the first suitcase closed weighs 54 lbs. I'm hoping the other cases are a little light so I can switch stuff around. Packing for kids is annoying, I just have to say: spare pants, spare shirts, two bathing suits each. And then there's me: wanting it all to coordinate, and having alternative outfits in case the weather is hot or cold. By the end of tonight I will have our suitcases all packed, and the majority of our carry-ons all ready to go. It's not been that much fun, this packing part.

Oh, and if you look at my sons with their dress-up clothes on please don't look down: I didn't have time to get nice shoes to go with their tuxes. Is that really bad? My toddler wore his WINTER BOOTS to our wedding last winter so I guess we have precedent. To be fair, he wouldn't put on his nice shiny black shoes, nor his tux jacket, and insisted on his tux shirt being open at the neck. At some point we just gave in and was happy he had any clothes on at all. We have some terrific shots of him that totally remind me of Owen Wilson, as a toddler, at a wedding. Ha ha.

Looking forward to seeing you all! I've been keeping up with the thread but have been slammed at work so haven't been able to respond.

We had 2 births in the night, then I had some home visits, and then we had our practice 6 year reunion. In between sips of coffee (thanks Starbucks!) I painted about 25 children's faces, then went home and had a nap at 5pm. I got up and spent some time with the kids watching 'RV' as that was all that I was capable of. And that was just Sunday! I am off off call tomorrow morning, so have the day to get our last things together.

This thread is so funny. It's like we're all in one big house packing for our trip and shouting from one room to the other.....

"Just packed the sun tan lotion"

"Have you printed out the navigator?"

"Is anyone bringing an umbrella??"

i keep expecting to read....

"Did i turn my hair straightners off???"

Guess I better go pack. DH just asked, "How many shirts are we going to bring.

Sorry for the repost, but I didn't see a reply in the part 9 -

Anyone have any idea what kind of weather to expect while we're crossing the
Atlantic? I don't know if I should throw a few pairs of jeans and a sweatshirt in or not... My wife says weather.com is saying low 70's during the days.

Anyway... if you see six lunatics wandering around with hats that say "1 of 6", "2 of 6"... that's us. I believe I'm "4 of 6". Say hi.

Checking in...we are on our journey. Last night we spent in Spokane, WA and caught a 6:30 am flight to Ft. Lauderdale. Uneventful flight. Tonight we are definately relaxing at the Hyatt Summerfield Suites near the airport. We had a few glasses of wine during their free evening gathering here. We are now tucked into our room and enjoying just being on our way. We are officially on vacation!!! No meals to cook, dishes to wash, beds to make, floors to clean for a month!! :woohoo::dance3::yay: Tomorrow we drive to Miami and spend the night there, at another Hyatt Summerfield Suites. We Highly recommend this chain of hotels. Very nice! We are thinking we need to come back here for a week. :thumbsup2

I have called our DD and told our DS, don't call us with any bad news before Oct 2. Good advice I got from the DIS. :goodvibes

Oh, luggage scales. Ours was a bit off, it read 47.3 and the airport was 48.

Well, she had a bad day today but is now on her new meds so please keep everything crossed........ Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts Sandi x

Thanks to you both for all the hard work

Between you, Noel and I, Marilyn, we must have a zillion bags! :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

:littleangel:

2 X 70 lb. checked bags
1 X 50 lb. checked bag
2 roll-aboards
1 camera/laptop backpack
1 over-sized "purse"

The port side of the ship may be listing!

I love that about yelling back and forth between rooms packing. That is exactly what it feels like and I have a curling iron and flat iron that need packing, but not in yet!!!!

Angie - so good to hear from youl. Cannot believe we are in the same state - I am sooo excited. Have fun in Miami. Don't party too much and miss your flight!!!!

I got my flu shot, tomorrow is my physical (I am thinking that was dumb) anyway, Wednesday is the spa for Abby (Fashionista) and I. Thursday - a day of rest and thinking of all we will be doing. By that time there will only be 2-3 left on the boards - Candy Apple, Paul and Me!!!
