Sept 16 2012 - WONDERing who's on the Calif Coastal with me?!

Hi Jill,

I just sent you a Private Message with information about the FE list!

Welcome!
Susan

Hello,
I would love to be part of this second FE list. I am traveling with son age 7 and his best friend age 7. Please add me if you can and let me know how they can be a part of it.
Thanks!

So this is my official 10th post so I can post a link. Please see next post for SF info that may be of interest to some.

Those looking for something to do in SF, check out today's LivingSocial deal.

Half off the hop on hop off city tour bus/trolley. I think one of the pick up is right at Pier 39. We won't be doing this because of other plans but it's a pretty good deal at $27 per person. You can check out the link for deal details and there is a link to the company website. If the link I provided doesn't work, go to livingsocial website and look under the city of San Francisco.

This is such a good deal! Is this one of those buses that you can get off and back on as you like? Or do you have to stay on for the entire tour?

Thank you to whomever suggested the Citypass. It ticks the boxes for entertainment for us for two days ;) We called and booked through Alcatraz Cruises so we had the Alcatraz option - Yay :)

Trip is getting very close here. Two full weeks of work, then two days and we will be off :) Whoop Whopp!

We are very excited to meet all of you! A big shout out Thank You to CruiseTink, Susan, for organizing all of the meet ups and FEs.

My two girls started school last week, including my youngest starting kindergarten! We have a few weeks for them to learn the new routines in their classes before the cruise :) I am hoping to get them to complete a lot of the independant homework before we leave. Wish us luck!

There is a DCL bus to LAX? Where would I find out about that?

I booked it through my TA. DCL's bus picks up at LAX the day of the cruise. So we are taking our hotel shuttle back to LAX Sunday morning and then taking DCL's transfer. This was better for us than cab or supershuttle. If you book Disney Transfers it asks you where you would like to be picked up. It has the option of LAX or the Los Angeles Airport Marriott.

After second look, maybe it is a full tour and not hop on hop off. I would certainly call for details if interested.

It is a pretty good deal but what about Lombard Street? I'm sure the bus cannot travel on this street but why can't it park towards the bottom or at least drive by. I've been to SF many times and it's a great city with lots to see and do. I so desperately need a break from work and I am counting down the days until our cruise.

For two people super shuttle should only be about $40 and disney transfers are closer to 60.

You would book your hotel to the port of La for super shuttel

Well it was closer to $100 per way when I looked into it. DCL was $120 round trip And at this point I don't think our transfers are refundable since we booked them along with the cruise.

Transfers should be refundable still. They aren't like the cruise fare, more like excursions.

The first time I tried super shuttle I got the 100 or something. Since I didnt know how to put in the port and used its address. But if you click to or from airport and scroll to the bottow of the list you get a list of harbors...and from there that is where you find the port.

We are doing Disney transfers the day we get off the ship to LAX since our flight is 12:45pm and its easier. But doing Super shuttle from Disneyland to the Port.

I'm still seeing that it cost about $140 roundtrip for two people. What port/pier are we at? It is San Pedro, right, and Pier 93?

Yeah Brenda the exact address is 100 Swinford street San Pedro. Before i booked I looked into all options and did a lot of research. DCL transfer from LAX to the port and back then the Disneyland Express to our Anaheim hotel and then to SNA to fly home was truly the least expensive. True it's a couple more transfers but it really doesn't take any extra time. Maybe an hour to all our transfers total for the entire trip.

Yes, I think that we are going to end up driving and just paying the parking fee. At $12.00 a day for 7 days, that will be a whole lot cheaper. The original plan was to take a train to Anaheim (we love riding the train) and then take somebody's shuttle/transportation to/from Disneyland to the Pier.

The first half of my FE gifts have arrived :cool1:

We are doing DLR after the cruise. I'm trying to figure out ground transfers and am having trouble finding something affordable from port to Anaheim hotel.

My plan is to do Super Shuttle from LAX to Long Beach hotel, taxi from hotel to port, ? from port to Anaheim hotel, and Super Shuttle from hotel to LAX.

Super Shuttle is quoting me $150-185 for an executive car/SUV. What's everybody else doing, and does anyone have any other suggestions?
