Sept 11 3 day Wonder? Am I the only one?

I was going to start packin this weekend. I was going to work on finally FE gifts today, but it looks like I have to keep an eye on Ike. We were supposed to be driving over Thursday morning. It's about a 3 to 3 1/2 hr drive. I was planning on getting to the port at 10 am when the terminal opens. Well, I rescheduled one of my spa treatments from 2 to 3 so I can meet everyone. Wishing everyone safe travels who are heading over early.

It looks like Ike may effect our MNSSHP with a little rain on Tuesday. I know others were planning on going to that. So I guess we should just bring a raft.

I am probably logging off until I get to the hotel. Have a safe trip everyone!

And the meeting????? On the Deck plans, I don't see a "Promenade Lounge" on Deck 4

I see a Preludes Bar and Promenade (not lounge just long walk way) on Deck 4.

We are planning to be on the Sept 11 cruise but boy am I getting butterfies. I get vertigo very easy and I really do not want to get sice. We have sailed in Hurricane season before but never when one was so close. My son and daughter in law who are also going with us have never cruised and they are wanting to back out. Any advice?

Hi All
I just joined this forum last evening and I too was upgraded from a Cat 12 to a Cat 8! (Inside standard to Deluxe Oceanview 4 decks up). I just figured they had so many cancelations due to weather so they were filling up the upper decks.

This is my first cruise ever and I am traveling with my 9 yr old granddaughter, a friend and her 8 yr old daughter. Don't know what to pack, where to go on the ship, things NOT to miss.

I was told by my travel agent that if you don't ask for a specific room but only a Catagory, they will more than likely upgrade you when you book one of the lower cat room.

I just am praying for a safe, sunny trip. Ok.. sunny might be pushing it a bit thanks to Ike. Anyway, if we don't go to any ports of call, what better ship to be on than a Disney Ship???

Can you experienced Disney Cruisers tell me what to pack and what events to make sure not to miss?

Don't know about you all- but I had so much fun on our cruise!!!

First and foremost the fish extenders were awesome!!! I cannot get over the creativity of all of you Disers!!!! I hope you all enjoyed my little bags? I am sorry that I was not able to touch base with all of you. I only happened to meet fivepin and her family when i put their bag on the door, and they opened it. I also did not have a beautiful fish extender so as you all know my walmart bag had to make due. I was so busy helping my friends with all their questions that I really did not have time for anything else. I did see Miss Risnsun in her beautiful wedding gown with her man at pirate night. It was too loud and too crowded to strike up a conversation. My son loved the little gifts and I wish we could have met the special people behind them. MY friend Bob got the Norwalk virus the last night. I did not know until after we got off the ship. He had diarrhea all night and started vomiting in the morning before they were supposed to get off theship. Ginny said that the castmembers were wonderful they got him a wheelchair and helped her with all her luggage off the ship. He has many medical problems, and we think he caught it because his immune system is comprimised with all his heart problems and such. They still had a great time. Thank you everyone for the wonderful gifts and I hope if we cruise again (seven day) we can all meet.

Yikes about the Norwalk virus! I had the diarrhea part the first night/second morning, but never any vomiting, and Jason did the same thing the last night. That's the first thing that went through my head!

Abfnumberten, we were apparently across the hall from you (6138) because we saw your wal-mart bag and saw your name on the gifts in it. We were so busy and didn't do half the things we wanted but had absolutely the best trip. We are hooked!

Let me say that you all OVERWHELMED me with the FE gifts! You are all so creative. My family just couldn't believe it and you all made the cruise so special!

I had to buy the Disney Cruiseline roll away luggage JUST to get everything home! You all are the best!

The one disappointing thing is that I heard the kids across the hall from me plotting to steal our FE gifts. My hubby was walking down the hall, he went into the cabin ahead of me. The kids (from across the hall) were in front of me and they didn 't see me. They said something to the effect of "Look at all of the stuff. Mike said we need to start grabbing that stuff later."

So I heard them and said "Um, no you won't." And they started stammering and said "No, not us, our friend up there said he wants to take the stuff"

And I said "Oh so he is the one with no morals. I gotcha. You won't be taking anything in there. It doesn't belong to you. And you can pass that onto your friend too. Or I wil be knocking on YOUR door"

Hi Everyone-

Hope everybody made it make safely. Ray and I had a wonderful time. Thank you everybody for all the great FE gifts. I got some new ideas now for our family cruise next month. We have 25 cabins then-I'm going to have to bring an extra bag if I get 1/2 as much as we did on this one. It was really fun. This was our first FE exchange we particpated in. I think we had something disappear out of our FE. I thought when we walked by, I saw so glow sticks or something like that, but I didn't see it again. I distributed all the goodies to my kids when we got back and they loved it.

Hope we can all do it again sometime.

abfnumberten~ I could not find your room to save my life. Or I found your room and saw no bag. I wandered everywhere, and ran into someone else on the trip and they said they couldn't find an extender either.

You should have said hello though! We had the best time. Then I would have been able to give you your pressies!

We enjoyed our little gifts. We especially laughed when we got the Michigan key chain! That was awesome!!! Shane and I laughed for the longest time.

We had thieves as well. People stole my non wedding magnets. I had a feeling they would. Why people are so horrible is beyond me.


Unfortunately I can't seem to get my land legs back yet. I keep having a motion sickness feeling since I have been back. We are all ready looking at booking another cruise!

Yep, us too. Problem is we want to take the kids this time which means two staterooms and really expensive times of the year to cruise. It will be almost 10 times what we paid to go to a 7 day tgiving cruise.
