After all the build-up, I'm quite disappointed, but the possibility of a Madeira market excites me! Noel, we'd love to add it to our East tour. It would be nice if one was located close to the ship, so we could just be dropped off there at tour's end, but even a quick stop would be appreciated.

I have emailed to ask if we can add it to both tours if people want to stop on the way back to the ship and if this is the best place.

Reservation sent :thumbsup2 many thanks - it really helps sooo much to have a helping hand:hug:

No problem at all! :) Just be prepared for my normally quiet husband to have questions for you about Ireland! He has been longing to go there for years... when we were in Scotland, he just looked in that direction and kept saying "sure we can't just hop over there?" His sister just returned in late April from a trip to Ireland, and we just loved ALL of her pictures!! Such beautiful country!

Hi there,
I am sailing with you on the WBTA, I have done several crusies, one EBTA last year but not on DCL. I am going solo, flying from Chicago to Barcelona on the 7th. Do you know of anyone who is looking for a room mate for a couple of days before the cruise. I am a retired Airline employee so have booked through my pass department. I have not been assigned a cabin yet, but its Cat. 5 balcony. My DD clued me in to the theard, it had not crossed my mind. I only booked a few days ago. I am getting soooo excited.

Time: TBD
Where: You will be given a list of participating stateroom numbers and categories the day after we embark (to account for all those upgrades, don't you know )
Refreshments: Optional per discretion of stateroom participant.

16. If you want a designed DIS tee shirt for this cruise, follow the instruction in this post. DIS Tee shirt

17. Cliffy 97 (Dan and Bruce) are organizing a typical English pub crawl with a date TBD. Info so far is as follows:
On a sea day those who were interested would meet in one of the bars for ( Traditionally a half pint pounded, I would suggest a drink of your choice) and then visit (Crawl) every other bar on the ship at least once.

As we do not have to worry about anything closing or how we are getting home, I would I would imagine we can spend 20-30 min at each location versus the 5-10 min you have on the monopoly pub crawl in London.

Perhaps we can make tshirts up too.

Stay tuned for more details.

17. If anyone wants to organize a postcard exchange, please feel free to start one. What we did las year is bring a postcard from where we lived and left in each other's FE. It is best to limit the number of participants no more than 25 as cost and weight to bring become an issue.

18. If you are interested in joining us for a farewell lunch, contact Claire (Pinky166) to be added to the list.
Come & join us for a farewell DIS lunch on the last sea day. Thursday 22nd Sept at 12.15pm, we are not sure which of the three rotational restaurants will be open on that day, should there be more than one open I have put them in order of preference - 1st Lumiere's, 2nd Parrot Cay or 3rd Animator's Palate.

Please make sure you check your Navigator that morning to see which restaurant is open for lunch as I won't be able to tell you in advance.

Please PM me if you'd like to join us and I will add you to the list, then once onboard notify the restaurant so they can seat us together at some large tables.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!!!!

I just spent HOURS yesterday afternoon and this evening getting the FE lists split into sub groups and now the file is GONE. I had already saved it on a USB drive (along with all my other cruise-related files), in fact, I saved it multiple times as I worked on it, just so I wouldn't lose my changes.

I finished it a few minutes ago, went to save it before closing, and my computer make that nasty little "error" noise and gave me some message about a corrupt table (WHAT??), the disk drive door being open (WHAT DOOR?? It's a laptop!) and reinserting the disk before trying again (IT'S A USB - THERE IS NO DISK!!). I've never seen anything like that before.

Then it told me to close and re-open the file using "open and repair," but when I went to open it again - IT WAS GONE!!! I tried a search of the whole computer for the file, but... nothing.

It was finished. Everyone assigned to groups. Extra spaces for new people. All the counts worked out - people per group, multiple list people, everything within everyone's requested limits... and it's gone.:sad::sad:

I think I need some chocolate. Or scotch.

Our group (well 4 of us) will be at Newport Resort the same time. We were planning to go to Paris Wednesday or Thursday. We are all getting very excited about the trip!

We're at the Disneyland Hotel the same time. Maybe we can do a pre-cruise lunch one day.

I can highly recommend InterServicePrestige. We used them this March and they were excellent.

Cheers,
Rasmus.

Thanks so much Rasmus... I'll shoot them an email and see what we can get. I hadn't seen very many recommendations on the DLP forum :goodvibes

12-Metre Regatta

I was sad that I couldn't get this activity on St Maarten when Gold booking opened; I wondered if the Platinum and Concierge cruisers all wanted to do it.

So I emailed the company and found out that they do not sail August - October due to maintenance and hurricane season.

Thanks Lynne for this info'. :thumbsup2 The 12 metre regatta was the only DCL excursion that we wanted, so I did go straight to that portion of the site on Sunday when the booking window opened for Silver members in the hope of a few spots opening up. We were really disappointed to find it was already full, but your research makes perfect sense why Disney is saying it's not available. Before your post, we had thought that the ship was full of Platinum, Gold & Concierge cruisers, who were all sailing enthusiasts! :lmao:

I seem to remember reading, though, in Sarah's (TotallyAngelic) trip report that her DH and herself did this excursion on last year's WBTA. So perhaps it is just this year that the company decided not to operate at that time of the year? :confused3

Or both

Sorry to hear this has happened after all of your hard work  Why is it that computers and/or their software always seem to malfunction after having worked for a long time on a document?? :confused3

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!!!!

Ouch . Hate that.

A few things you could try before you give completely up on the file:

If you have been using Word, try looking in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Word (open Explorer and type %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Word in the address bar). If you have been using Excel, try looking in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Excel.

If the file is not there you can try this tool: http://www.pcinspector.de/default.htm?language=1 . Be warned: it will be slow.

Good luck :)
Rasmus.

I was looking last night and according to google there are a couple of Carrefour supermarket places in Las Ramblas area.

Forgot to say I am on to Head Office again!!!!

That's ridiculous!!! How can they keep giving different answers???

Have you emailed back Michelle? I would say you've called the shop and they are saying it's closed!

One thing's for sure I am not going to rely on Morrisons either way now, I will get as much as I can in Barcelona & then anything else in Madeira (or Morrisons if it is open).
