Venice is absolutely amazing, stunning, breathtaking .... there are not enough superlatives in the English language to decribe it. The atmosphere is incredible. We did a long weekend a few years ago and since then I have been dying to return .. and to imagine cruising up the Grand Canal .... it is definitely on my to do list for the next couple of years. I took hundreds of photos but lost them all when my hard drive died, apart from 4 I had on Facebook, so that was very sad.:sad2: and a very good reason to return. :goodvibes

Oh no, I hate it when you lose photos. :headache: Thankfully we have only ever lost one days worth but I would be so upset if I lost a whole trips worth. We now have an external hard drive that we copy them all on to & then lock it away somewhere safe. :thumbsup2

It's definately on both of our To Do lists, cruising up the Grand Canal sounds amazing! :cloud9:

Ha ha how strange....what were your dates for 2009? We were at OKW from 7th to 20th Sept, then 4 night cruise on Wonder, then at the Poly 24th - 28th.

I've just checked my dates and we were there 23rd Sept - 7th Oct Pop then Boardwalk Villa's then off site.

This is so funny...we could've walked past each other again!

I would love to cruise on the Fantasy:) I know you can get prices for after Aug 2012 but you have to call DCL direct.

:bday::cake:Happy Birthday Sarah!!:cake::bday:

A bit off topic but...

Because we're always so ON topic here. :rotfl:

Running errands today, then I really have to get to work on filing my taxes. :scared::crazy2: May need a lot of adult beverages to get through that.

Looking at your list we match in June 2010. Our dates were 3rd - 17th June (had to look on our passport:blush:). We went for Star Wars Weekends again, but were staying offsite. We enjoyed them so much the year before ;) DH is a Star Wars nut! He's gutted we're not going this year.

:rotfl2: This is freaky!!!!! I was there 5th - 14th June, staying at Bay Lake Towers with my friend on a girls only trip.

I did Star Wars on Friday 11th June, but to be honest it was far too hot & far too busy (for two not really that bothered about Star Wars, it's more about the shopping & drinking girls) so we mainly stayed in the air conditioned bar, Tune In Lounge. :lmao:

Hi All.......I'm here just a ball of emotion. Last day in the office was yesterday:cool1:

And son number #2 popped the big question:yay: my empty nest is being blessed by daughters!! Wedding planned for November so no change in cruise vacation plans needed, whew.

I am off to a day of scrap booking classes with Heidi Swapp teaching. It's my girlfriends 50th birthday so celebrating:woohoo:

Ive been reading the boards......DH says to me one suitcase so dressing up isn't going to happen except for black slacks and pretty tops.

Thanks for the London ideas.....I'm getting excited NOW that I can put more time into planning.

Congratulations on the wedding. Will it be a big one? Big hat etc?

Black slacks and pretty tops are just fine for dining!!! You will be the sensible ones managing easily with your baggage and we will all be struggling with heavy bags full of clothes we probably won't wear!!!:lmao:

Claire we were there on the 11th too...how funny is this. We've probably passed each other on numerous occasions.

Congratulations on your retirement and also to your son and his bride to be. So now you have a wedding to plan aswell as a crusie and a trip to London :woohoo::woohoo:

well done, its a good feeling when you win :yay:

I know .... and it's a bit addictive too. I can see myself ending up with way too many dresses at this rate !!

So pleased it worked!!! Amazing really isn't it? You just have to be careful not to give things away to anyone who might be bidding on the same things as you are though!!!

Just a thought do we need to bring pool towels?

As everyone has said towels available by the pool, though they are hidden away in sneaky cupboards, I had to ask someone in the end :rotfl:

A bit off topic but to all of us in the UK:-
Have you see that Disney UK are offering free dining for 2012? I am seriously tempted.
Complete Orlando are a little bit cheaper than Disney direct and you also get a free refillable mug with the DDP next year.
Just holding out for DCL to release dates for Sept 2012 onwards though before considering booking, wish they'd hurry up!

yeah i'm also interested to see where the Magic ends up in 2012, although i'm already booked on the DIS-UNPLUGGED podcast cruise in June 2010, so think i'll take advantage of that free dining!!!

Good morning all. Happy Saturday!

Have you all got any exciting plans? We have some preparation to do in our kitchen as we are planning to decorate it soon.

Taxes are due April 18 in the US but I'm leaving town on the 11th, so not much time left... and it's beautiful outside with the dogwood trees, flowers, azaleas all in bloom (and I am fortunate not to have allergy problems).

You finally won! :thumbsup2
____________

Would love to see Venice - I think we need to start/stop there so we get more than just a one-day port experience. I would also consider another cruise line to do it (perhaps Celebrity - no smoking in rooms or on balconies - makes a big difference for some of us).
____________

Congratulations, Sandy, on retirement and future #2 daughter-in-law acquisition. Nice to be mother-of-the-groom and not bride so you don't have to feel guilty about leaving the country during wedding preparations.
____________

Fantasy cruises for Aug-Dec 2012 have been available for a while now via DCL by phone and through TAs; wonder how that will affect pricing when it finally becomes available to the general public (and how many cabins will be left?)
____________

Looking forward to hearing any news this week after the DCL announcements.

Do you really have a hot tub in the garden

Ooooh so jealous!!!! We've got a hot tub but it's not plumbed in at the moment as we are having some work done and had to disconnect it for the time being. :sad2: Enjoy yours though!

Oooooh, exceedingly jealous! We have a fireplace on the patio and light a fire most weekends Fall through Spring. Every time we do, Dennis says, "I wish we had a hot tub. We need a hot tub." To which I reply, "Would you rather have a hot tub or go to Disney?" (or "on a Disney cruise"). Guess what he always chooses.

Yes, we've got one in the garden. When we bought this new house a few years ago, the garden was a blank canvas with top soil, so we designed the garden round it and got the builders to put in the necessary electricity supply. We did overindulge and put it inside a swiss cabin so that we could use it all year round, due to our lovely weather, and there is a tv down there too. It's linked to the sky/cable so we can watch the programmes down there :lmao: It's really Stevie's hydro-therapy pool for his bad back and gives him lots of relief :thumbsup2

Leslie was an amazing server wasn't he .. especially the second week when he had relaxed a little and recovered from his bad back a bit. I love looking at my photos of that cruise ... so many wonderful memories!

I hope we get a good server this year :thumbsup2 we had a bad server on last years WBTA, we couldn't believe it, but didn't make too much of a fuss about it, but it wasn't fun for 2 weeks :sad2: the head server couldn't apologise enough

Ooooh I love decorating, but we are still okay with the decor since we moved in.

I seem to have spent the weekend so far running around after DD and her boyfriend, looking forward to getting spoiled tomorrow

I had a great day, went into town and got a new dress and new shoes :yay:

:bday: Happy Birthday Sarah (Binkytell) :bday:

Happy birthday from us too, I hope they have spoiled you today :thumbsup2

:bday: party:

Hi everyone hope you are all well?

Sorry I have not been on these boards much but I have a lot going on at work at the moment. I work for the NHS and there is a lot of cut backs going on :sad2: Within the trust I work for 1000 jobs have to go. My department is being merged with others so over half of us will be redeployed into other jobs and we all have to apply and be interviewed for the job which we already have :confused3.

Emma, good luck with your job, I hope it all goes well for you :thumbsup2

I have refrained from checking out any of the offers for next year as I promised DH we would give WDW a miss next year  I didn't however promise that I would give DCL a miss so i'm hoping & praying the Magic will be back in Europe!

:lmao::lmao::lmao: you are hilarious hon  good one !

I really want to do a cruise which involves Venice and I would love to do it on the Magic, but if the Magic doen't come to the Med we may ( those of delicate constitution please look away now ) do a Med cruise with another cruise line :scared1::scared1::scared1: If the Magic starts cruising out of New York we may change plans copmpletely !! I also want to go back to Disneyland Paris maybe in 2012.

Stevie saw an article online that DCL are opening an office in London as they want to have a presence in Europe and hinting that they may put a ship here permanently, we can but dream and hope !!

In an ideal world they might do an eastern med itinerary alternative too and take in Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Eastern Italy, which would include Venice of course, now that would be amazing :cool1:

The above was me, I didn't realise that DH was still signed in :lmao:

Hey guys, what will be doing in 160 days.... those of us in late seating will just be getting acquainted with our dining servers and some of you will be going to the theatre

:dance3: :dancer: :dance3:

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding.

I've only got one hold suitcase too :sad2: that's why I am not participating in any FE or SM exchanges. Unfortunately the dresses and shoes are taking priority :lovestruc:banana:

Fantastic :thumbsup2 It is very addictive :rotfl: I do have too many dresses now, so have to choose which ones not to take

We have been lucky. Last year we had the lovely Leslie but he has now gone to the Dream. Beofre that in 2008 we had Dennis, who as far as I know is still on the Magic. We could always request Dennis :thumbsup2
