Separate charges on KTTW card?

2 friends and I will be staying in one room when we visit in Jan. We will all have KTTW cards and I'm wondering if the purchases/charges are tracked for each individual or just stated as a total expenditure for the room. I've always just visited with family so I've never had this issue come up! I know on cruises we've had our charges stated by who charged it and tallying up was really easy- any such luck at WDW?

I have gone with my Aunt back in May 2011 and we had asked for 2 cards to be on file but some how only one was. But when you check out every charge on the room has the name of the person made the charge. So we were able to split things up on our own. Hope this helps.

You can ask that the charges be separated and applied to different credit cards when you check in. That should happen, but things get messed up at times. Even if it's messed up, you can still tell which person charged which item by the number associated with the key card.

My experience was when we shared a Cabin with my sister and her husband at FW. We asked that my sister and her husband's charges go to their credit card and that my family's charges go to my credit card. When we checked out, my BIL's charges were all on my credit card (my sister's charges were on thier card). The front desk was having trouble re-allocating BIL's expenses when we were all checking out, so my BIL said that they'd send us a check (which they promptly did).

So, while it can be done, it is not always done right. You can decide whether the convenience of carrying one card is worth the potential problems down the line.

You can put different credit cards on different KTTW cards, but the best advice I can give you is to check the charges at the front desk after the first day. This way, you can make sure everything is being charged correctly and if it isn't, you can get it fixed before too many charges have been made.

We did this last year and there were some issues. We were 3 adults and 3 children in a 2 bedroom villa. We put my DH and I on one card and my cousin on her own card. My cousin's KTTW card worked fine. My DH's KTTW card worked fine. Mine did not for some reason I kept getting declined because I had reached a limit. Since the limit for a deluxe is $1500 it freaked me out when this happend on our second day there. I had to go to the front desk everyday that we were there. Everyday they would tell me it was fixed and everyday I would get declined if I spent more than $100 that day. Finally on our last day the head manager fixed it. They did give me a pretty decent credit for my troubles. We plan to do the same thing this year so I hope this does not happen again:)

Thanks- this helps. As long as the purchases are coded by person, we can probably figure things out!

You can get an up-to-date print-out of current charges at any time during your stay. You want to "settle up" the day before your check-out day, as charges will be applied to the card on file early on the morning of check-out.
