Sensor Cleaning Saga continues - you won't believe what happened

My gut feeling is they know what they are doing when it comes to film cameras, but the whole digital thing blows them away.
:lmao:
hope they all plan on retiring soon then

inquiring minds and all but i am interested in hearing how different the actually use of the 30 d is , i mean control wise etc from the rebel.
when i told husband of your saga he just looked at me with a kind of suspicious look in his eye. Rats, he's wise to my plan so guess me "accidentally on purpose" adding some specks of dust on my sensor won't work for me to get a 30d:rotfl2: I'll have to move to plan b...;)

If something happened to mine, liked if it was dropped, I have the extended warranty (including drop) from Best Buy. We've had to use the extended thing from BB before and had good results. So, no Mark III for me :(

double check your warranty,, I know the extended warranty from Ritz camera covers everything, except..

1. theft
2 fire.
3. nuclear war
4. brackish water..

Yeah, that's not covered, that's where the add on for my homeowners comes in :) But, if I drop it...

So what does the extended warranty cover? Does it cover say.....your camera falling off the back of a truck? :) Seriously some warranty places like that have a no questions asked policy and might give you a new camera if were to "break" Now I know it is not the most honest thing to do, but Wolf would not be out of money since they would just send it back to Canon and get reimbursed for their loss.

Very cool of you hubby to do that for you, even if it was a Canon :) J/K :cool1:

I don't think Wolf could send it back to Canon for that type of damage...only manufacturers defects..

or drop it in your swimming pool....

the ritz warranty is awesome....

I worked sales for them years ago, I had a customer call and tell me he had placed his new 35mmslr on the tailgate of his truck while cutting firewood at his camp, he went to move the truck, the camera fell off, and he backed over it.., I double checked to make sure he bought the esp. and then told him to put the pieces in a bag and bring them in...he walked out with a new camera...:thumbsup2

OK... the guy seriously told you you should NOT shoot RAW?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Where is this so I can make sure to avoid it. I have a hard time understanding why one would not shoot RAW if their camera can do it. But I don't criticize anyones choices in their file format. Geez, I especially wouldn't if I just fumbled their camera cleaning!

Yes he told me that. It was written on a note attached to the camera.

He also gave me the phone number of the canon rep he spoke with if i wanted to call them - but told me not to tell them where I got the number.

hmmmmm......:scratchin

;)

Jann - I haven't had much time to really play around with the 30D yet. I have had a nasty nasty cold and slept most of the time I was not working yesterday. I am hoping to have some down time :lmao: this weekend - keyword HOPING - to play around with it. Based on the very limited time I have played with it - it seems pretty easy to get used to - different dial - the screen thingie up by the shutter.. don'tchya just love how technical I am? ;)

It is definately larger and heavier and with my small hands that is very noticable. That could be a good and bad thing. It FEELS more substantial therefore making me feel like I could be better than I am. ;) And the drawback - it could also get pretty bulky after carrying it around for any length of time.

I will give you a better assessment after this weekend hopefully.

sounds very mysterioso...why do i keep hearing the mission impossible theme song in my head...maybe the shop is a front for something far more sinister than sloppy sensor swipers :cool2: :cool2: :cool2:

This is good to know,,,, Next time I go Herring fishing I'll be sure to leave my camera at home. :rotfl2:

Ya'll are the greatest! Not many other people could turn something that I have literally cried about into something I am now laughing about.

....And - I can't believe this transplanted yankee just said "ya'll".

Sorry to hear the sensor issue didn't get any better but it's awesome that he bought you a new camera.

I am surprised Wolf would take 4 weeks, cleaning is fairly simple.

Well they do have to send it to Arizonia!
Isn't that the new planet they recently found?

Mikeeee

I knew there was something wrong with you, you are not a native!!!!! You got here as fast as you could, right? Y'all is nothing. Wait until you start putting too many prepositions into a sentence.

"Son get on out from up under over in around there right now! Don't make me get on up off this here chair and come up on over there."

Of course the excessive preposition useage is a generally southern thing I think and not limited to Texas.
