Just wanted to let you know about my visit to the World with my senior Aunt and Mother. My Aunt was celebrating her 80th birthday and I treated her to a visit to Old Key West and Wilderness Lodge. I have to say that I have never seen so many seniors as I have this visit to the World. For one the hotel clerk gave us a "Happy Birthday" button for her to wear which draws quite a bit of attention from the staff everywhere. We even got free desserts at dinner. It was such a pleasure to see all the senior gentlemen flirting with my Mom and Aunt everywhere we went. I felt transparent as all their attention was on them. From the store clerks in the gift shops to the Captains of the water taxi's it is senior heaven over there now. I even met a bellman who had worked at the Contemporary for 30 years and transferred to the Wilderness Lodge because they are tearing down part of the contemporary to build timeshares and he didn't want to lose tips because of the decrease in guests. Can you imagine working 30 years at Disney. I'm jealous of him. The waiters in Canyon Ranch restaurant at Wilderness Lodge were also senior and just a delight to have a breakfast with. Very playful with the ladies also. My Aunt told me that this was her best birthday ever and she was so happy that I brought her to Disney to celebrate. So any of you seniors out there don't be afraid to do the Disney thing because you are going to be more than welcome everywhere. It's a very different experience than when you go with kids, trust me. From now on the kids can go with their Dad, I'm going with the senior crowd.
