First off, there were a couple of questions on the boards people weren't sure of lately (including myself) so I asked those today.
1) Those big greyhound type busses are not free to go to GardenWalk. It's $3 each way per person, or you can buy a $4 all day pass per person. Even the driver said if someone is going to only go to Gardenwalk, then walking is the better option.
2) DCA does open the gates at 8:30 (a half hour early) when opening at 9:00. Nothing has changed in that regard (so far) according the gate person (other than opening earlier)
For the recap of the day. Up at 6:30, got to the gate about 7:45, was through the gate and towards the front of the rope at about 7:50.
There was magic morning entries on both sides today. I've never seen that before (it was always just on the side closer to DTD.) That had 4 turn stiles on the side towards Harbor Blvd today as well. Not sure if that's permanent or not.
After rope drop, walked over, FP'd Indy then entered the Stand By line. Walked all through the queue and got to the screening room without stopping, and the ride broke down (go figure,
) Decided to leave the line and use our FP's later rather than wait an undetermined amount of time in hopes Indy would be back up. Hit Pirates, HM, Splash was a walk on, but we didn't go as it was still a bit chilly. Did Pooh, ate breakfast at Riverbelle (I think waiting in that line was the longest one we had this morning, lol).
Went and did BTMRR (about 5 minute wait/could have went again with litle wait, but decided to go use our Indy FP's from that morning instead (it was back up). Stopped and saw Laughing Stock on the way to Indy. Went and FP'd Indy again and used our previous FP's. Rode JC and had about 20 minutes before we could get another FP. Mosied on over to Tomorrowland and people watched until we could get another FP. FP'd Space and decided to call it a morning. (it was about 11:30, so this was all before that time).
Came back to the hotel, swam for a bit, then took a bit of a rest. Went back to the park around 3:00, had lunch at CC
. Went and used our Indy and SM FP's. By this time, the park was mobbed. Matterhorn was up and running, but the wait was 60 minutes. No thanks. Watched the Flag Retreat and decided to hop to DCA.
Headed over to DCA and it was MOBBED. 30 minute wait for Monsters Inc, (nope) so we went and did Turtle Talk. Walked through Bugs Land via Tower of Terror pathway. TOT had like a 60 minute wait I think. Not positive as we hadn't planned to do that today anyway. My husband will ride that Tuesday while I blissfully ride Monsters Inc over and over rather than being scared out of my wits
Bugs Land was packed. It used to be so nice to walk around there. Heimlich had about a 20-30 minute wait. Really? Heimlich? Decided to walk to where WOC will be to look around and people were already lined up for the parade (it was around 6:00). There were tons of people already waiting along the route. As we were walking around, there was an announcement that due to overwhelming attendence for the parade, they are having a 2nd showing at 10:30. I think we're going to skip it. We've seen it before and we'll see it in WDW when it goes there.
Decided to walk back over to DL to see a friend that was working for a few minutes and call it an evening. We'll go up on the roof to watch the fireworks tonight.
A couple of side notes.
Drunk people and Disneyland should not go together. I wish there was a way for them to monitor how much people drink at the F&WF. Even a couple drunk people rude to employees is a couple too many.
The front car of Space Mountain is the Debbil. I have a lovely photo of me with my eyes squeezed shut with a grib of death on the hand rail.
. At least I can say I did it once though (considering I finally started riding it last trip). I can say for sure it will not happen again.
For as busy as the parks were today, they had traffic flow going pretty well (except in Adventureland and Tomorrowland near Astro Orbiter, but it's always like that in those areas)
Overall relaxing day and hitting it early again tomorrow before friends meet us there. They don't like to get up early, so, we'll go get a bunch of stuff done before the crowds hit.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Will add more tomorrow after our day is done.
