If you happen to be going out shopping at Publix they have various gas cards, $40 for a $50 gas card. The bad news is that you have to have a coupon (not a problem, it's in the racks near the entrance) and you have to buy $25 worth of groceries so this deal is only really worth it if you were going to buy the groceries anyway. One of the gas cards is Shell, so if you also have Krogers in your area you can not only save $10 on the card you can use that card to pay for the 10 cents/gallon you cqan get off with your Kroger card. We passed on the offer because of the $25 extra we would have had to spend.

As a couponer, I can tell you that it can actually be a good deal. The $25 you have to spend is before coupons. I got 2 gas cards.

DH went & got stuff to grill out on Mother's Day & used a few of my coupons. He spent $67. Not a great total but hey he got a $50 gas card.

I went on my normal couponing trip on Friday & got:

6- 10lb. bags Tidy Cats liter
6- 2lt.Publix Colas
1- Pepperidge Farm cake
1- 38 ct Glad Flex Force trash bags
1- 24ct. Zantac
2- Heluva Good dips
1- 3pk Ivory bar soap
1- Publix reuseable bag
1- $50 BP gas card

I had coupons for everything but the Publix drinks & the Pepperidge Farm cake. I paid $49.09 for everything. I was going to drop $50 that day at the gas pump anyway, so why not get all the extras. (And I actually saved $.91 by doing it this way too.:thumbsup2)

I love when Publix runs this deal. I always sit down with my Publix sales paper & my coupon binder to figure out my least out of pocket.

And by the way, depending on your stores sale dates the sale may go off today. It does in my area.

We took advantage of this over the weekend, and will probaly do it again tomorrow ( the last day of our ad)

That's the key sentence. For us we would have had to go in and find $25 worth of "stuff" just to get a card. I believe I said something to that effect in my original post.

Yea. I read your post. I'm just saying that there is a way to bring down that $25 you have to spend in groceries with coupons. The gas card will cost you $40 anyway. So I only paid $9.09 over the $40 for the gas card. You just have to plan ahead. Most of my coupons I printed online for the items I bought to bring my cost down.
