I'm sure this has been posted before in some form or fashion, but please indulge me. :goodvibes

We love to be close to the parks so we always choose BC/BCV. But I just got through looking at the new AKV 1-bedrooms and those are so nice! :thumbsup2 Makes me second guess our usual preference.

So which is your favorite and in a few words, why?

Re own at AKL and SSR. We really like SSR the best. It is quiet and relaxing. It feels like a country club. THe pool area is great, and you can walk to Downtown Disney whenever you want.

Also, the scenery is beautiful because it it built around a golf course.

Hmm, I don't have just one favorite, but four:

BCV

  • Location! Just a few minutes walk to Epcot!
  • Attached to a deluxe resort hotel (BC)
  • 2nd smallest DVC resort at WDW
  • Stormalong Bay: 3-acre mini-water park (the best feature pool at WDW!)
  • Close proximity to the Boardwalk resort area
  • Onsite character breakfast (Cape May Café)
  • Sandy "beach" on Crescent Lake
  • Valet parking and room service
  • Good onsite restaurants (including Yachtsman Steakhouse)
  • Beaches & Cream Soda Shop
  • Boat service to DHS and Epcot
  • Mid-Atlantic "nautical" theme
VWL

  • Magnificently rendered theme - probably the best!
  • Quiet, peaceful and romantic setting/architecture (mountain retreat)
  • Smallest DVC resort at WDW
  • Just a relaxing boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom
  • Attached to a deluxe resort hotel (WL)
  • Award winning restaurant (Artist Point) plus Whispering Canyon Café
  • Silver Creek Springs feature pool
  • Fire Rock Geyser
  • Valet parking and Room service
BWV

  • Attached to a deluxe resort hotel (BWI)
  • Lively atmosphere: ¼-mile Atlantic city Boardwalk midway
  • Well-themed pool (Luna Park) with 200-ft Keister Coaster water slide
  • Boardwalk location (lots of activity - street performers, games, nightlife)
  • Standard View rooms are low on points!
  • Boardwalk view offers great view of Crescent lake
  • Ten-minute walk to Epcot; 15-minute walk to DHS
  • Boat launch to DHS and Epcot
  • Room service and valet parking
  • Great restaurants (Flying Fish Café and Spoodles)
  • Community Hall with lots of activities for children
AKV

  • Attached to a deluxe resort hotel (AKL)
  • Great exotic theme (African game reserve)
  • Newest DVC resort (to date)
  • Concierge Rooms (the only DVC with them)
  • The Savannah with views of the animals (20+ species)
  • Point-saving Value accommodation rooms
  • Quiet, relaxed atmosphere; feeling of remoteness
  • 1-BR can sleep 5; extra bathroom (Kidani only)
  • Excellent onsite restaurants (Jiko and Boma)
  • Large water playground/pool (at Kidani); Themed pool at Jambo
  • Community hall (Kidani)
  • Some GV have pool tables

Lets see, the largest rooms for the least amount of points. How can you possibly beat OKW:confused3

Simzac, you are funny!

We love Beachclub for the stuff, and Boardwalk rooms are nice, but far to walk.

We just stayed at HHI this weekend, and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

We are staying at AKL in January for the marathon weekend! So, we will just see!

I'm an owner and lover of the Boardwalk. I love the location--I love being able to walk to two parks (plus three other resorts). I never tire of sitting on the Boardwalk to people watch and enjoy the view across the lake. There is so much within an easy walk from the resort--dozens of restaurants, fun stuff going on the Boardwalk, mini-golf, etc.

Plus they have this little bar there that I've been to once or twice or a thousand times.

I'm with you. Best views in Disney.

I've tried them all and I like them all, but I keep adding points at OKW. There's no place like home!!

So far, I really really like BWV.....but, we are heading to VWL in December so that could be my new favorite...and then after that, AKV....so maybe that one?

Guess it seems whichever one of my homes away from home I am at, is my new favorite :) Guess I'm easy (so to speak)

SSR for its Peace and Serenity. Nothing better than a relaxing evening in the quiet pool hot tub after a hectic day in the parks while watching the sights and sounds emanating from Pleasure Island.
