1. The pool is really neat, and they will deliver liquor to your pool chair.

2. The short walk through DTD on tired feet is fantastic. You never leave the magic.

3. You can buy all kinds of crap in the park and have it delivered to your room.

4. It is on sale this summer, and you may never have another chance.

5. It's just money.

I'd love to be able to stay at the GC but just can never justify it in my mind. It just seems so expensive and there's tons of other things I'd rather spend my money on. But, if money weren't a big deal, I'd totally want to stay there. I spend lots of time looking at the photos that people post and wishing.

I keep saying one these times we will try it, but we always would rather stay more days for the same amount of money somewhere else. Hopefully sometime... :lovestruc

Ok I'm sold:lmao:

It is on sale. Haven't seen it this inexpensive before. Having said that, that means the PPH is even cheaper and I :lovestruc the PPH. It's not as close but you get all the same Disney perks as mentioned before.

Does the PPH have comfortable beds, a frig or a microwave? Also is there still a monorail that goes out from the Disneyland Hotel? If so is it closer to take that from PPH or walk. I havn't been there in about 12 years. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and it took us right inside the park then.:confused3

Yes comfy beds, fridge and micro, but the walk is farther. :goodvibes

The first time we stayed at GCH we booked a package but this time I booked room only on the summer deal and it was very reasonably priced.:thumbsup2

drag n' fly, if you don't mind me asking, what type of a deal did you get? we are going 5/28-29 and are paying $607 for 2 nights, taxes included. I think it was $264 + tax.

We just stayed at the GCH. :lovestruc It was awesome and we will likely not stay elsewhere when we eventually go back to DL. We had a fridge and I noticed the White Water Snack place had a microwave. DD loved the bunk bed and we liked the turndowns and the ambiance. We loved, loved, loved the bed, it was so comfortable. Neither of us had back problems while we were there for four nights and we do with beds that are not good ones by the second night. Biggest plus was that it was quite close to everything, esp. since our room was right next to the elevator near the Napa Rose. Our friends stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and the monorail does not go all the way to DLH or PPH. It stops in the middle of DTD (between GCH and DL) and you have to walk from there to DLH or PPH. It also only stops in Tomorrowland in DL so if you are going to DCA you might as well walk. Our friends primarily used it to return from DL.

If you have small children (preschoolers or younger) and the money to do it you should seriously consider the GCH over the other Disney hotels; if you don't, the walk isn't that much longer. It just is so much nicer upon returning for naps or at the end of a long day with the kids. The pools were fun too although we only went one afternoon.

The Monorail station is in the same spot it's always been. It's just a little misleading because everything around it has changed.
