Self parking at downtown Disney

my family and I are thinking of heading to Disneyland for a few hours. I know I have to purchase at least $20 to get 3 hours at downtown Disney. Is there anything else I need to know? Is it crazy busy right now? Any tips? Thanks.

If you are going to spend at least $20 anyway to get a validation for only 3 hours, why not spend a $20 flat rate to park at M&F or TS for as many hours as you need without worrying about going over your time limit? That way, if you happen to get stuck in a long line or find yourself delayed for some other reason, you won't have to worry about parking fees. If you don't want to walk from the Disney lots, just take the free tram or free shuttle.
