Hi Guys,

On our last visit we hired an 8 seater mini van and previous to that a mini van was included with our villa......

For our next visit I think we would prefer to hire a 4x4...... but I have no idea on whether to go for a Dodge or a Jeep :confused3 and how many cases we would be able to fit in the boot??? At the moment I have just been using the Dollar website for reference and I guess i am thinking I would prefer to book thru them as we have the dollar express thingy all sorted from our last visit :confused3

In all honesty is would be a lot easier for us to stick with a mini van as we know where we are space wise (probably 4 cases (mainly to bring stuff back in :rotfl:) and 1 or 2 strollers) but I know DH would like to drive something a bit less 'bus like' for a change :rotfl:

Any advice please???

Thanks,

Ali :goodvibes

Even though there are 3 of us we go for a minivan generally and will do next year, though I agree there are nicer cars to drive,
Dollar do a Pacifica in the Premium class which is really nice and has a big boot (photo below).

How many of you are going Ali?
May save a little $$$ if you book with these rather than Dollar direct.

Oooo that looks nice :goodvibes

Just DH and I and our two little princess: (5 & 3 when we travel)......

As I say, it's the cases that bother me more than anything. I'm planning on buying a lot more 'gear' this time, especially for the girls :yay:

you can still use your dollar express card even if you book with say usrentacar.co.uk-who are very good!
this year after previously having 7 seater minivans , we are going for a 4x4 with usrentacar- there will be only the 2 of us

Hi Netty and thanks for your reply :goodvibes

Will defo check out usrentacar.co.uk when I get a mo, didn't realise I could still use our Dollar Express card :thumbsup2

Just noticed you are in Sunny North Wales :goodvibes I am currently in work (I use the term loosely :rotfl: ) in Queensferry :goodvibes

Hi again - I think for 4 of you the Pacifica would be perfect and you would have plenty of room.

I think I must be having a particularly blonde day :rotfl: as I can't find the Pacifica on the Dollar website :confused3

It doesn't always show them.
Dollar often have 2 different vehicles in some of the categories.

If you check the link I put earlier for usrentacar and go through the steps to check prices for a particular date, specify 'Dollar' as the company (as they deal in several) and it definitely has a picture of the Pacifica under Premium.

I suspect you would need to actually ask for this car type when you arrive in Orlando, that's what I did anyway.

I have just booked the intermediate 4x4 Jeep with usrentacar!
did you manage to sort a car out yet?

It's definitely still on their website, unless they are not producing it from 2009?

http://www.chrysler.com/en/2008/pacifica/

They are phasing it out slowly - Chrysler is in it's last production year for it, though i dare say a few special editions will be around for next year - the traditional end-of-line part bins models!!! Dollar have removed it from there website just to be safe for future bookings, though they do still have it 'in stock'... just remains to be seen if they buy more or go for the cheaper Dodge Journey equivalent next time round (and it is cheap).

I like the Pacifica... Johnny got me started on hiring them, never looked back lol. Definitely enough space for 4 adults plus luggage and the kitchen sink too. The middle row slides forward a few inches as well should you find you can't quite close the tailgate!
