A bit pricey but, OH, what fun!! :) :teeth:

A brand new tour is being introduced in Epcot. Beginning February 14, 2004, you'll be able to travel Around the World at Epcot on a Segway, those futuristic-looking upright transportation devices on which you sometimes see Cast Members zipping around Epcot.

The tour, which will last two hours, will be offered daily at 8:45 a.m. The first hour of the tour will teach safety rules and allow you to practice riding the Segway, while the second hour will be a tour around World Showcase before it officially opens to visitors.

Cost for the new tour is $80 (park admission is NOT included).

Some restrictions apply: Minimum age is 16 (guardian must sign a waiver for ages 16 and 17), maximum weight for participants is 250 pounds, and expectant mothers and persons with special needs may not participate due to safety concerns.

A 15 percent discount will be available for AAA and Disney Vacation Club members, as well as Annual Passholders, Disney VISA cardholders, and Disney Cast Members. A photo ID will be required at the time of the tour.

To book this new tour, call (407) WDW-TOUR.

I love this idea!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc DS 16!! has wanted to ride a Segway since they came out. $80.00/person is cheap to fulfill this kids dream!!!!

Oh, I think DH would like that. Thanks for the info!

Stephen already told me we're doing that when we go next May. It sounds like so much fun; riding a Segway, and getting to see Worldshowcase when no one else is there. I am so excited for this tour!!!

Sounds like fun to me! Too bad Michael's too young to do it, I'd do it in a heartbeat!

I saw this in Deb Wills All Ears newsletter yesterday. I hope that I can convince Sue that we (or I) should do this.

It's two hours but one whole hour is training??? I think I see a Segway marketing tactic here--having people PAY to sample your product. It's brilliant.

And here, after doing my 9th tour back in Dec, and thinking I was out of tours (except for diving ones), they come out with a new one. Hmmmmmm. :)

I would rather walk, but if they pay me $80 and skip the hour training I might consider it:D

Oh I think I just found my next tour to go on :p

Are those machines the coolest thing or WHAT?

I was sure all the Segways had been recalled a few months ago, but maybe they fixed these ones right away......something to do with the a sudden stop that can toss you over! LOL

Still, I'd pay to ride it.....

Sounds interesting. I saw all those CMs in Epcot last December on Segways and was tempted to ask one of them to let me try it.

I'm going to call and reserve a spot on this tour for my April/May trip. I heard about this tour back when I took the Undiscovered Future World tour, and I'm glad to hear that it is really going to happen. I think $80 is reasonable to take a tour like this. Should be a lot of fun.

I would definately do this if I had the chance to go to WDW in the future (near future). Hope they have it when we finally save our pennies for another trip!

Does anyone know how far inadvance these can be booked?

We are going in July over DH's birthday. When I showed him about this tour he seemed interested. Im thinking this would be a great gift idea for him.
