Hi, :wave2:
I am really interested in taking the Segway Tour Around the World in Epcot. :Pinkbounc Does anyone know if you can book it prior to arrival? Does it get sold out? What does it cost to go? My DH is not very interested in going and I thought I might go by myself. If anyone has taken it did you enjoy it? Any information would be very helpful. Thanks.

I have one booked in Oct and I booked at about 90 days out.....they do sell out but not all the time...$80 is the cost unless you have a DVC card,,,,

Book in advance---they can sell out. Disney allows booking for these up to a year in advance. We have a large group going in Dec. and I booked it early. I believe the limit is 10 people for each tour, and there are two tours per day. Try to book the early tour on a day that Epcot is not having early morning EMH. That way, you get to ride around the World Showcase before there are any people. Really fun!!!

Lots of ways to get the discount: DVC, AP, Disney Visa, or AAA will all get you 20% off.

FYI: you can cancel up to 48 hours in advance. If it's raining, you only get to do the inside portion of the ride (but they will refund you half your money). Try to get your DH to go with you---I don't know anyone who didn't have a great time on this tour. But if he's unwilling, go anyway, you won't regret it! (bring your camera--the cm's will take a picture for you).

Another endorsement for the Segway Tour! We did this in May and it was really fun. They do have a 1-hour tour and 2-hour tour. I would do the 2-hour 'cause as someone else mentioned, that way you get to travel around World Showcase before it opens. Really fun. Try to get DH to do it.

The comments from those in the park are really good. "Oh, I could do that! It's easy!" etc etc
As we were riding around a lady told her child that we weren't real people, just robots! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope you get to do this. Book before you leave home.

another vote in favor...
we've done it twice....last year and again this summer and we very much enjoyed it both times (all four of us: me, dH, 21 year old daughter and 18 year old son)...

You won't be disappointed... we did it last April and can't wait to do it again next year. Lotsa fun!
The tour cost about $65 each (using Disney VISA discount)... worth every penny.
Touring the World on a SEGWAY is something to remember.

Thanks everybody! I am definitely going to go. showed your remarks to my DH. I think I will sign him up for the surfing lessons wile I go on the Segway tour!!

Two questions related to this tour.

Can you enter from the Interantional Gateway and walk to the other side of the park? We are staying at BC and this would be an easy way to get there for the early monring one but I am uncertain if there would be anyone there to let you in.

Also do you need to use a day off your tickets to take the tour? A few of our tickets may be non-hoppers and if that is the case and you need a ticket then I have to schedule this for a day that we already plan on being in Epcot.

First question - yes you can - just have your ressie # with you at the gate and they will let you through.

Second question - yes, it requires park entry

I was able to get part of this answered by calling.
You do need a park ticket to take the tour.

I still can not get a straight answer about the International Gateway and when it opens.

I know World Showcase does not open until 11 AM but when can you enter to walk to Epcot through the International Gateway?

We did the two hour tour in February. It was the most fun we've ever had at WDW. My husband, son and I just loved it.

We were staying at the Boardwalk Inn and entered EPCOT through the International Gateway. We told them we were taking the Segway Tour and they let us in.

As you know, a park ticket is required.

DH did the tour last week, and he went without me; I took the kids to the Princess Breakfast. He loved it! He said it was definitely worth the cost (I think he paid around $68 or so, he got a Disney Visa discount). He booked the tour 3 weeks ago.

My son and I absolutely loved this tour. We went a week ago and he is still talking about it. The guides did a wonderful job and learning to ride it was very easy. It becomes almost intuitive after about 10 to 15 minutes. The training last for an hour indoors at one of the Innovation buildings and involves lots of manuvering around cones and up and down ramps. Then you get to ride out to the world showcase. Its so cool riding past all the guests. Then once you get to the world showcase the guide takes you though several "obstacle courses". You go aroiund pillars and down some of the narrow walk ways. Its great fun. There is also an opportunity for some pictures at various locations.

Hope this was helpful and you have a wonderful time.

I don't know exactly how early they open, but we have stayed at BCV, YC and BWV and have not had any problems with geting in as early as we wanted.
International Gateway opens at the same time as the main entrances open in the other part of the park.
Guests who are staying at the Epcot resorts who have early Advance Reservations need to be able to get into the park.
When you enter from International Gateway, you are able to go thru WS toward the UK and Canada. The walkway is blcoked off towards France until after WS opens at 11 am.

Thanks Sue that makes sense about people with other eary events needing to get in that gate too. :cool1:

My husband and I would really like to do the Segway tour, and our daughter would love to too, but she's only 13, so not yet old enough. :guilty:

So, can she come with us and watch (and be one of the first one's there when Epcot opens)? I don't really want to just leave her at the hotel.

Any ideas?
