Folks,
I'm in room 1234 (1BR) @ SSR this very minute -- I'll give you more details on the total trip when we're home in Canada later this week. The weather has been spectacular since we arrived on the 4th (rained briefly while we were in our room and then on the bus one day).

We enjoyed DAK today and pulled into SSR at around 6:15pm. DW pointed out something we hadn't seen upon leaving the resort that morning -- a construction crane towering above the roofs of the Fairway Villas. I expect they are moving towards breaking ground on the next phase of SSR. The basic structural construction appears to be complete on the Paddock buildings. Building 5 looks rather complete at the Springs -- lights on in some rooms, furniture visible through the windows, asphalt paving in the parking lots and landscaping going on around the building.

Hope all are well -- and glad to share this interesting news with you.

Room 1234, that's a number I can remember! Glad things are going well for you. Enjoy your vacation.

Funny you should mention that. When we stayed at SSR a month ago, my mother pointed to that building one night and, after seeing the lights on in the rooms, said "gee, I'm glad they didn't put us over there." :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

For the benefit of those who haven't been to SSR recently, back in December the building was largely as RoyalCanadian described--it looked complete from the outside and at night you really could see furnishings in the rooms and some lights on. But the entire area was fenced off and there was no landscaping or paved parking lot (the source of mom's displeasure with the building.) There were also large construction trucks moving around the area all days long.

Maybe I should tell mom that we switched our next ressie from BWV to SSR and that I requested THAT building for her sake. :teeth:

Thanks for the report, RC.
