Seems to good to be true, DxDP and changes for 2015, surely the price will go up in 2016

Technically, they haven't opened any loopholes yet. The information you quoted is not part of any official statement from Disney; it's just speculation and rumor at this point. It's difficult to answer your question; will they change the requirements of the deluxe plan in order to close a loophole that they haven't yet authorized? It's been a loophole forever. Nobody here will know what, if anything, they plan to do to close it.

No, I wasn't asking any questions; just brought it up for thought and discussion.

And, personally, I think the changes warrant discussion, not as speculation and rumor, but because there is an alert tab posted at the top of the boards, a sticky thread, and several discussions all over the internet about it. But to each his own.

Is there a post maximum?
Starting six threads all on the same topic seems like a bit over the top to me. But then, you've started twice in your two months of membership than I have in my two years here.

The loophole has been there forever for the QS and the DxDP. The QS was easy to exploit by only ordering the number of adult meals as you had adults on the plan per transaction or just getting a CM who didn't check. My understanding was that the DxDP was significantly harder to exploit with servers at TS generally only allowing kids' meals for children on the plan.

I believe some people paid OOP for two children at a 1-credit TS and got an extra adult meal at a Signature restaurant for date night, or something similar. However, the proposed changes would not only make this rule-abiding, but also make things significantly easier for some people and allow a nine-year-old to order an adult meal without needing to pay OOP or have the server look the other way. I'm sure this is why people are getting so excited about loopholes that technically already existed.

As for the CS meals, it really was not a loophole when the CMs at the register are telling you it does not matter. In prior years when we did the DDP, we asked CMs at the register to tell us how many adult and children CS meals we had remaining, they always gave a total and said there was nothing to differentiate between adults and kids. Does not sound like a loophole, but just a system design.

Still a loophole when the plan clearly states "Children ages 3-9 must order from the Children's Menu (if one is available)." Some CMs did not enforce it, but it's plainly there for anyone to read even if their system was not set up to keep people honest. Sounds more to me like a design flaw that Disney decided not to fix and has allegedly decided to embrace.

We shall see...I'm not gonna sneak around vacation hoping I won't get caught but if we can use the kids dxdp credits for our adult use for signatures..and it be okay wiith disney..we sure will!!! I Emailed Disney.... basically they said nothing official is written but the rumored changes are true and currently being implemented and they basically cut and pasted what is written all over the Internet word for word regarding changes to the DDP.. I emailed them from 2 different emails and both responses were the same and I have them printed out just in case. the email explained that Dxdp and above has no child credits and adult Crédits..just a pooled number of credits that can be used how you like until your allotment is depleted...... the DXDP just got awesome!!!!

Would you mind posting the emailed message here? I am in the same boat for our August trip. We have two rooms booked, and have two different promotions in place. One room is free dining, and the other is RO and I bought DxDDP. I am in the process of planning what will be OOP, and know that we can all share the appetizers, so we don't need to pay for them, but want to manage our credits as well. I am not a rule breaker, but in the event we can pool all of the credits, I can better manage my dining plans.

Nancy..it does have my email and name..simply email Disney asking about changes to DDP

I can try printing it and blackened out private studded and take a pic and post

I've taken pics of multiple chat windows too
Disney chat response the same
As rumored changes posted...word for word...

Another thing
Disney response mentioned
"No changes to entitlements of DDP, many changes made in how you use your credits and snacks"
Then it proceeded word for word what is rumored. I'm finally confident and all booked.

Thanks Disneybee! I am booked as well, and will use the plan in whatever manner is allowed, so for us, no harm no foul. I do hope we can do some sharing with each other!

They used to enforce it. From what they have told their cast members, they will apparently no longer be enforcing it.

At a table service restaurant on the delux dp does a child have to order off the children's menu or can they order an adult meal?

The rumored changes seemed to say so, but the 2016 brochure still says Children must order from the kid's menu where available, so no one really knows at this point.

All of the chatter WDW allows to slip out but does not make official make it pretty difficult to plan, IMO.

Previous to this last trip, we have always done the DxDP and loved it. Many TS have let my kids order adult meals anyway, so it makes sense that they would make it a pooled group of credits. Downside, more expensive theme, more expensive the tip, which is NOT included. Each trip we usually travel with our close friends, and quite a few restaurants have let us use our credits for those friends to pay for their meal. I always asked, never tried to be sneaky. I explained that we would be left with x amount of credits and would appreciate if they'd just use them for our friends meals so they didn't have to use their credits or cash and we didn't lose out on ours. So again, it makes sense if Disney is going in this direction, if many CM's were already allowing it to happen. As far as QS meals, Disney cams have said for years that children can order iff the adults menu. Encouraged in most instances.

It's an e-mail? You can copy and paste it into a post, then just delete your personal information or replace it with your DIS name. Voila!
