Does anyone have any ideas what’s going on at WDW the end of Jan.
We’re going the last week of Jan as we have since we bought in 16. Except of course when Covid was a bigger deal then it is now.
Our home is the poly. I book there at 11 months and see what’s open at 7 and it was fairly easy to change for the most part.
But this year seems every thing is booked solid. I even checked on the website for a cash stay and still pretty much is all booked tight. Just wondering

January is 3 months away. If you want to book something at 7 months, then book at 7.

DVC is not your product if you are trying to book last minute. Your best bet is 30ish days out. Things can and do pop up. And your OKW/SSR waitlist will fill when other people upgrade.

I just think you have people traveling again and using DVC during a great month.

So, things ebb and flow with what can be there at 7 months.

I did check st 7 months. And there was basically nothing open. Even at OKW and SSR I know at this point there would be nothing

I booked the marathon at 7 months, which is way harder than late Jan. And 7 months right now is wide open.

Similar experience for MLK weekend. Several places were available. Don't remember what we initially grabbed, but a couple of days into the 7 month mark BCV opened up and I grabbed it.

Just for fun, if I was going to guess:

1) Lower point charts?
2) People didn’t want to go during the FL heat of the summer or holiday rush?
3) Disney dining plan starts in 2024?
4) Great time for a snowbird vacation for people without school aged children?
5) Less expensive flights for international visitors?

I booked end of January into February exactly at 7 months and had several options including poly, which I reserved a standard view studio. It was available for a few weeks afterwards.

I agree 100% with points 1,2,4. Can't relate to 3,5. But we go that time of year most years, and it's great - better value for points, WAY better weather (most of the time), and just plain tired of the cold in the northeast by then and ready for something a bit warmer for several days!

We have Jan 23-February 4 booked for three stays, CC, VB and BCV. The CC & BCV were booked at 7 months. We really enjoy meeting friends and the FoA In January!
