For the last 10 years, we have watch fireworks from BLT either our room, the roof or the parking lot. For once I want to see the displays on the castle. In the past few years as we were leaving the park, we have seen people staking out a spot around the new planters. I told my DH I would like to do this one time. He has a wheelchair, so I would think having a spot facing the planter would be good. The fence would be in front of him, but no people RIGHT in front of him.

What's your idea of a good spot and what time do we need to find the spot? This will be the week after Thanksgiving.

When you get to the parks you may pick up a pamphlet that provides assistance for those in a wheelchair. Disney has specific locations set up for guests in wheelchairs and their families so that the fireworks can be viewed with as little obstruction as possible. You may wish to go that route.

If you choose to find a location behind a planter I would recommend arriving no later than 90 mins prior to the fireworks.

I’m very small. And it seems no matter where I stand, someone tall comes later or a child gets hoisted up and I can’t see. I’m sure once I’ll try to catch it from Main St, but my favorite spot is between 7DMT and Be Our Guest. The fireworks go off all around you!

Thank you , but we want to be in front of the castle to see the projections . Once we were by it's a small world waiting for someone to get off the ride and the fireworks started, They were pretty good at that spot too.

The handicap viewing area is in the hub area in front of the gardens which are in front of Casey's. You do need to get there a bit early; once we wanted to sit there with my mom and the area was already full.

We get there on a Saturday. Perhaps I'll go in to MK for an hour and just scout out the area for sight lines. We plan to be at MK several days, but not a morning to night thing. Maybe one day not go in until late afternoon, and then stay until fireworks.

I love seeing the parks at night but we don't have the endurance anymore to spend the whole day in a park any more.

Behind the planters are a good spot if you can't get into the wheelchair reserved area. I'm short, so there's always an issue with people in front of me, so we always go for an area right behind the planters, but to get right up to the fence, you need to be there a solid 90 minutes to 2 hours early. Last time I decided to wing it and arrive a little later, I grabbed a spot behind a trash can thinking it would give me some space to see, but nope, a literal 7 foot man stood in front of the trash can at the last minute, and then proceeded to hoist his kid up even higher - I couldn't even see the castle (and I'm not exaggerating). Moral of the story, getting a spot early is really important.

Been to the fireworks at MK a few times but we have not seen them yet. LOL! I have not found a good spot to watch the castle display and I am 6 ft tall. People get pushy and rude. My kids never get to see any of the parades or fireworks. It is what it is. We have gotten spots 2 hours early before a parade or fireworks and still miss the whole experience. People are more rude in the parks in my opinion. With that said, behind a planter seems best to give you space between people. We are going to try that this time around in November. Hope it works out.

Take advantage of the DISability services. I have been there in a wheelchair a couple of times and they are pretty accommodating in all the parks and at the resorts. There is a special phone number to call on their website if you are interested. It is worth the effort to make the call and gather the information- as your stay will be much more enjoyable and less tiring.

I recommend being in the hub area with the new show and not back on Main Street. The projections on the buildings are pretty distracting and don't add much of anything to the show. I'm not sure why they were added other than to try and be like DL since people like them there, but DL main street is proportionally different and it seems to "work" better there.

That's a likely reason - I was thinking it was also to spread people out onto Main Street instead of having everyone feel they MUST be in the Hub to see the show.

I really liked being about half way down Main Street! I really liked the projections on the buildings. But everyone is different.
