My DD's girl scout troop is spending some of last year's cookie money to see Alice at the El Capitan on Sunday. They are planning on eating at uWink restaurant. Just wondering if anyone here has every eaten there? I guess the big thing about it is you place your order directly from your table using a computer touch screen. The girls thought this sounded pretty cool!

They also want to do the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I don't live too far from Hollywood but have never done that, or seen Grauman's Chinese Theatre (with all the footprints.) Should be an interesting day.:goodvibes

The El Capitan looks like it's a beautiful theater! Unfortunately we weren't able to get tickets to the tea party they are also doing. It's been sold out for awhile now and we were lucky enough to get 20 tickets to tomorrow's movie. And we'll get to see some of the set pieces.

It'll be a long day though. Leaving here at 11 a.m. We have to be in line for the 4:00 showing at 3:00 so we can sit together. Figure we'll be home about 7:30 or so. Long Day!

Well, we went yesterday. After missing the parking lot we finally made it. ;)

uWink was okay. The girls enjoyed ordering for themselves. The computer screens took up a little too much room on the table. Ours went down during the meal and I had to get the server to reboot. Also, I found that since I wasn't familiar with their menu, scrolling through the choices took longer than having a regular menu in hand.

I ordered a hamburger and you get to build it as you like it.:goodvibes With no added extras it was $7.95 (not bad) inc. fries. The burger was actually too thick, hard to eat, due to the height of the bun. My only complaint was that I ordered medium and the mom next to me ordered well-done and they were both done the same. :confused3Too well done for my taste. Oh and the buns fell apart. I had sourdough and another mom had a regular white bun. Both had the same problem. (What is wrong with hamburger buns nowadays-is it the missing trans fats?)The fries were excellent.:goodvibes

They allowed us to use a 20% off coupon from the Entertainment book. :goodvibes

Girls at their own table.

It was a short walk from there to the El Capitan, Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Grauman's Chinese Theater. Parking was $9 (for 6-1/2 hours) with validation.:scared1:
