Since we will be staying in a tent and possibly bringing a TV and laptop, I was wondering if we would need to lock all that up in the car.? I know anything can get stolen anywere anytime, but I'm just curious about security and wether tents get broken into at all. Also kind of off topic (I dont like abbreviations, and It will be months before I can get a grasp on the plethora of them on here:scared1: ) but, I can't get reservation quotes on the WDW website for march, when do they have the dates for the next year? I'm also trying to plan a trip for late 2010 ( I know my wife says I'm a plan freak too)

Hi! Welcome to the DIS! :goodvibes

I would definitely lock the laptop up in the car when you leave. There are usually no problems, but leaving it in an unlocked tent is just inviting trouble.

We leave our appliances/coolers out in the screen tent all the time. But a laptop is different, IMO. (in my opinion)

You should be able to book March online now. It could be that the campground is sold out on the dates you are looking for. Just keep trying. Something will open up eventually. :)

Yeah, take a few minutes and lock up anything that you would regret losing. Think about what things, if you lost, would potentially ruin your vacation or cause you hardship and lock those things up.

Why take a chance when you can lower the liklihood so much by locking them up?

Enjoy your trip!

I would be more worried about them getting wet than stolen. Just be safe and keep them in the car.

As far as reservations go I would call Disney. Disney's Web-site SUCKS for making reservations for the campground. If you want to stay more than 10 days the web-site will not work. If you were born on a thursday or have brown, red or blonde hair, or want to check in on tuesday it wont work.

A lady at CRO told me they were having all kinds of problems with the web-site and Fort Wilderness camp sites but for the cabins it seamed to be working fine

Hi,

We have been camping at Disney for years and have never had any problems. We don't even lock up our bikes when we stay at the Fort at our site. I am sure your tv will be fine inside your tent, but anything real expensive like your laptop I would lock it up in your car. That's just too expensive and too easy to carry and run with to leave lying around.

we stay in a tent and we lock are laptops in the truck.my mom dosent what to chance it.are ipod we leave in cause we just stick in a bag.

We just got back and stayed in a tent. We had 2 laptops, tv, cameras and more. Nothing as ever bothered.
