On our trip in Dec, we're thinking about DD 16 going to DQ by herself while DSIL and I shop and have lunch. Is there any security in DQ? Is there any way to get out without someone at the door checking?

There are CMs around, but I wouldn't call them security, per se. Not sure what you mean by "get out without someone at the door checking". As far as I know, there are no restrictions at all on anyone leaving the DQ building.

FWIW, I don't see a big issue allowing a 16 year old to go to DQ alone - especially during the middle of the day. To me, it is no different than shopping at a mall. She should be able to take care of herself just fine - there are always people around. (Now if this is a matter of you trusting DD not to go somewhere else, you have a different issue and security isn't going to help you).

Best wishes -

If I remember correctly, there is only security at the entrance. They check your bags just like at the entrance to the parks. Disney Quest exits into a gift shop (big surprise) :teeth:

I do think there is someone stationed at the exit to stamp the back of your hand though so if you leave you can get back in. I don't think they consider that person security.
