I know I saw a thread, but couldn't find it.

Does any one else think they really blew it? Watching the marathon today. In the beginning, I really thought the premise was good, and un-glamorized teenage pregnancy. Besides the fact that they are all terrible actors (except the dad--I've always liked him), I'm not getting the idea that they are trying to show that it's not roses and sunshine. I'm really disappointed--Good thing is that even my 14 Y.O. DD finds it stupid now also.

I can't even watch it anymore. When it first started I loved the concept, but now it is so completely far from a realistic situation with everybody in the show, and so many dramatized events that I can't watch it go on any longer. So yes in my opinion they blew it big time.

I just had a kid too and the way she acts.. my goodness! She acts soooo entitled.

DD1 watched this last season and I checked it out a few times to make sure it was okay. We talked about how unrealistic it really was. When Mom got knocked up, we/she stopped watching. How moronic is that story line?

It's nothing more than an a teenage soap opera. The pre-show publicity made it seem as if it was going to be a more realistic type of show. My kids watch it every week and I catch bits of it and always comment on how unrealistic it is.

My DD watches this and I've caught bits and pieces of the new season. The Mom storyline is completely ridiculous- how realistic is it that half the high school is talking about her Dad's (lack of a) vasectomy?

I just saw that in real life that Molly Ringwald was pregnant...she just had twins so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

But I do agree, the show is getting to be kind of ridiculous. Amy is such a brat sometimes.

I agree that they've done a poor job with this show. It had so much potential, but it's just gotten ridiculous.

How about Grace's dad dying?!? Now instead of showing someone dealing with the ramifications of having sex before they're ready (even if a pregnancy doesn't result) they've blown that story possibility as well.

Does Ben annoy anyone else as much as he annoys me?

I watch this show because DD wants to watch it and I feel like it's one we need to discuss so I can do the reality check.

I used to like it too, when it first started. The premise was good, and I thought it was about time someone showed the ramifications of teen sex, instead of glamourizing it. But when I saw the first episode of this season, I decided it was time to give it up.

I hated the fact that Grace seduced her boyfriend, then went into detail about how great he was (does the term "Way Too Much Information" mean anything to the writers? ).

Then when they killed off her dad, I felt as if they had just killed the moral center of the show (he was about the only character who had his head on straight). Now it's just another teen soap opera-- not my cup of tea.

Sorry if I sound preachy here, but I've grown tired of having sex and body parts thrown at me everytime I turn on the TV.

I watch it. It's like a train wreck waiting to happen. Definatley unrealistic. It had a decent premise but failed to fully live up to it. I too agree that Amy is much too whiny and needs her dose of reality upped. While gossip does get around schools they need to chose more realistic topics.

That is why I watch it. The acting is awful but I can't help but want to know what will happen next. And how many times do you think they can use the word SEX in one sentence?

I love this show, but it's not as good as it started off being. It's not very realistic, and gah. They could have done such great things with this show. I am enjoying Make It Or Break It, Ten Things I Hate About You, and Ruby and the Rockits :]

That is exactly how I feel!
The first season was pretty good, even with the cheesy acting. This second season is just BAD!!! I asked my 15yo if they actually talk about nothing but sex at school and she assured me that they talk about other things!
