I always ask this question before our summer Disney trip so I won't feel so alone. Who else here is secret clothes hoarder?

My kids closets are fill with new summer clothes, with tags on, that they know they are not allowed to wear until Disney. They are so used to this now that I heard my one dd (9) tell ds (6) the other day - make sure you wear one of your old bathing suits not a Disney one!

I am also obsessed that they must have all new underwear and socks for the trips. Please tell me I am not alone in this addiction. Confession is good for the soul - so tell me, what are your closets like before Disney?

We dont leave until Oct. I havent built up a pile of new clothes yet but believe me I will. I only have one shirt so far. I wont be to concerned about new undies and socks, since school will have just started, but im sure if i see some cute ones at the Dis store ill pick them up!

LOL! Well right now I don't have a Disney trip in the works so there is no need for the Disney hidden clothes, but I tend to do it anyway.

With my younger child I buy stuff at the end of one season to put aside for next year. so right now she is wearing a shirt I bought her on sale at the Disney store. Couldn't even tell you when I bought it. :rotfl:

I do it with sandals. My kids wear their sandals everywhere, so they're trashed by mid-June. I always buy a second pair to keep nice for Disney. My dd came down for her birthday this weekend in her "Disney" sandals -- they're the same Columbia sandals, just a different color. When I looked at her shoes, I didn't have to say a word. She said "Mommy, it's a special occasion so I'm wearing them just today, OK?"

I thought it was big of me to let her wear them, and they are now back on top of the shelf waiting for July.

 Here I am. Clothes Hoarder like you wouldn't believe! LOL My DD clothes are in seperate drawers and she only wears the VACATION clothes when we go somewhere special or vacations. I even have a drawer in a spare room dresser with socks (so they are worn on trips, washed, and are constantly white), and various other things, just for trips.

I too, did this same thing for our trip. My MIL got in on the action too. She gave me a bag of new clothes for my son and dtr. and said "These are for your trip." To prevent the kids temptation of wearing them I packed each outfit in it's own ziploc (as recommended from others)and put them in the suitcase. This actually worked out great.

I didn't feel too neurotic because my kids wear their clothes hard and inevitabley spill on things the first day they wear them. :laundy:

Thank you, thank you. Keep them coming. I love hearing how I am not the only loon!

WDW Traveler - thank you so much. I am glad that I am not the only one with the obsession with socks that have to be white!

OMG! I thought I was the only crazy one!

I bought DD a pirate shirt on clearance this winter in a size too big. We are going in November.

I have a dress that I bought several years ago (5 or 6???) *just in case*. It's a perfect dress for animal kingdom. A kind of african print, but also not bright or too busy. Really peretty. It was a size or 2 TOO SMALL when I bought it. (It was like $3 so I felt I could justify the buying ti too small....) It fits now and it's my incentive to eat right. I've gained 5-6 pounds in the last few months and it isn't fitting. I can't NOT be able to wear my AK dress when we go! LOL!

Also got DD a chip & Dale shirt. I need to go get her another pair of the *fake* crocs she's wearing right now and put those with the other stuff. They were only $5 and wear really well. Very comfy for her.

What about LIGHT STICKS??? How far ahead can I buy those???

I already have an shirt picked out for DS3 to wear to AK (tie dye orange with a white gecko silhouette on it) and a backup shirt to carry in the bag (tie dye blue with a white but silhouette on it. I saw a cool Nemo shirt yesterday and I was figuring that one would work well for Epcot. So I also pick the clothes out and match them to the park. I may label them when I put them in ziplock bags in case my DH, DM or DMIL want to help out getting the kiddos ready. I also have some clothes that I am already letting them wear, but I check the calendar to make sure it isn't DS7's art class day before I send him to school wearing them!

I too belong to the secret world of clothes hoarders and sock stashers :smooth: I am packing for our trip next week and this morning I reluctantly got out of the suitcase a dress for each of the girls for summer pics this weekend. I also do it for my husband-I stash away his best tshirts.
I am so glad I am not alone...:rainbow:

Uh... I have a clothes rack in the computer room with brand new clothes on it for my DD7 and my DS (19 months) for September's trip. I've even bought DD7 some new Crocs and they are in the bag in the laundry room. The kids aren't even allowed to TOUCH the new clothes hanging up.

Now, my 11 year old stepson? He has nothing. OOOOH, wicked stepmother, eh? No- that kid is so dang picky about his clothes that I'm not wasting money on buying him all brand new outfits for Disney at this point in time. Right before the trip, we'll pick his clothes out.

I mean- my baby and my daughter- every article of clothing is Disney related. Yesterday, I found a cute Tigger surfing shirt at Walmart- and they have these cute sundresses as well with Disney princesses on them. My stepson? Won't wear ANYTHING with a character on it!
