Secondguessing resort pick, WWYD?

Don't forget the seperate bathrooms with each bedroom and a nice balcony. If you can I would also suggest and DTD view. I also like Congress Park section, but buses could be a bit of an issue, since you are the second to the last stop on the route. I believe that you can get a DTD view in Grandstand. If not you could at least get a view of the river and golf course.

Had a look and compared SSR and CBR through google earth. Seems like they're pretty comparable.

The foodcourt is something that I stumbled upon as a mwah. As I'ld be spending a lot of time at the resort, that might be an issue. But as both of you also said; the extra room would be nice.

Kathy, how did you find the villas with regards to eas of moving around? I'm a bit puzzled about what you said about OKW. Know about the larger size, but what do you mean with the full size washer/dryer and kitchen? As far as I know that would be the same in a 2-bedroom at SSR, right? Or were you comparing that to CBR?

The room layout in SSR is quite open and if you get a dedicated 2 bedroom instead of a lock-off (a lock-off is a one bedroom and a studio room with a lockable door in between. A dedicated is the larger of the two rooms.) You get a stacked washer and dryer in the SSR.

You might want to look at the site about the Disney Vacation Club resorts to see the layout of each one to get a better idea of the layout.

As far as the food court at SSR is concerned, yes it is kind of small with a limited selection, but DTD is very close and very good food. Actually didn't mind the selections at SSR, but mainly at only breakfast there. The Turf Club at SSR is a hidden gem in food service. Most do not know how good the food is there. I highly suggest it as a place to eat.

Your thread made me cry - I want to HUG you! Split stays are GREAT! Do the deluxe resort second in my opinion. IF it were me, I would get a wheelchair accessable cab to make the transfer from resort to resort, then you can take your medical supplies with you easily. You can let bell services transfer the rest of your stuff if you like, but that - that I would't want out of my sight!!!! The second thing I would do is split up your trip park wise too. You know up front that DHS and EPCOT are easily accessable from Beach club (which again, would definitely be my choice over yacht.) So, I'd leave them until I was staying at BC. AK and MK you're going to need to take a bus anyway, so it might as well be from CB. See what I mean? Stormalong bay is not zero entry, but does have transfer tiers at a couple places, as do the quiet pools. When you book your resort, unless you use a TA, you might want to discuss your specific needs with the 'special needs department'. I don't have a phone number but have been connected with them through the main number. Good luck!
Well, the decision has been made. Last week I asked my mom to think along with me. She's been to WDW so knows what she's talking about, understands my WDW-love and of course my health. Dad just called, asking about the price difference. Long story short, they've made a decision. I will be going for 3 weeks, split stay CBR and YC/BC. The price difference from 3 weeks CBR is a gift from my parents and grandfather that died about a year ago. (Also loved to travel, and sweethart app. gave parents some money and told them to use it towards me when any of my travels would need some $-input)

Still can't really believe it yet, but wow have things worked out here! :lovestruc So basically, any tips and tricks about what to do and not do with a split stay are welcome.

Decisions have been made! We went back and fro some and then 2 days ago decided to go with a 2 bedroom at SSR. Sure enough; no availability anymore under the great promo for the last 6 nights. Hmm. Had to think about that, maybe a split stay?

Checked the website again today and the 2-bedroom became available again! :) We took that as a major sign ;) So, we are booked for 21 nights at SSR in a 2-bedroom with 'free' dining. :dance3::yay::woohoo:

You're going to be so glad you got the 2 bedroom...and free dining too! What I meant about OKW vs. SSR is that OKW has the largest villas. They have a huge laundry room with regular, vs. stackable washer/dryers and the living area is quite large. It's a bit more difficult to maneuver in the kitchen in the other properties. At any rate you'll find your villa to wonderful and give you space, privacy, and a really attractive place to stay with extra amenities.---Kathy
