Second week of April

We are still waiting on rofr, but in the meantime, I have a trip planning question.

Has anyone gone the second week of April? My kids have spring break April 7-11 and we were planning on then. We know points are higher, but if our contract passes, we would have 300 that have to be used by June of next year. We were just curious of crowds and weather at that time. I think it just misses the "main" spring break rush. Our home will be SSR if all goes through.

Thanks!

With a late Easter in 2014 (April 20) it should be manageable, but not really low season.
(Every April is different because of Easter moving)

It might be like the week of March 17 this year:

In 2014 April 7 was only a crowd level 6, but April 7 was after Easter. You are planning 2 weeks before Easter so it may be busier.

March and April are busy times for WDW. Weather is good but Spring break for college and public schools make the World a busy place. :cool1:

It seems anymore, most times you visit are pretty busy. Disney will never lose it popularity, even with the rising prices.

Easter is different, spring breaks are different, and at some point during March and April, I think someone is off for spring break every week, somewhere in the country. So I think it will be moderately crowded. Maybe not peak, but probably crowded.

April and May used to be low attendance months because they were included in the first few years of the original "seasonal" passes. I think it was January, September, and April then they added May or vice versa. But within a few years it was those four months. So is probably going to be less crowded than March.

But now with the Flower Festival that runs from March through May, gaining popularity, it brings in a large crowd. Disney has pretty much thought of something to entice people there all the time, so that there aren't a lot of "down" times anymoe.

Weather... it will be warm. April down here starts the hot weather and rain. The earlier in April the better. We don't even go to Disney from April to September because it's too hot. All our trips are from October to March.

In 2010 we went in December. It was all time record lows. We flew out of Chicago so we were lucky and had our winter coats!! We went in February of 2012 and temperatures were nice, but not warm enough for swimming. We were wanting to actually utilize a pool with this trip, so the warmer weather is ok for us. We were thinking April 6-11 would be about 2 weeks before Easter and the week after *most* US spring breaks. **fingers crossed**

Yeah, I think you'll definitely be better off than if you went in late March. That's spring break down here for my kids in South FL, the week of March 24 through the 28th. Same with Orange County. Seminole County is the week before that. You'll probably have mostly Flower Festival crowds. But you'll definitely have use of the pools ;)

And yes, December (those first two weeks) is usually when we go for Christmas. It's wonderful, although has been picking up attendance.
