The day did not start as planned. My beloved husband woke up at 4am and decided he NEEDED coffee, so switched on the lights and proceeded to make a coffee with the very noisy coffee machine. Needless to say, this woke all of us up and I shed a bit of pixie dust when I told him what a total numpty he was. The kids would not go back to sleep, so we showered, got ready, grabbed our Express Passes and wandered to Islands of Adventure for opening.
The walk there is actually really pleasant and we stopped for the obligatory photos.
We made a bee-line for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The queue was long but still only around 40 minutes. I loved all of the details as I am a Potter fan.
I was totally overwhelmed by the ride and knew, there and then, that I had fallen in love with Universal Studios!
We got wet on the rapids, got scared on Jurassic Park, loved Spiderman and The Hulk and did a little bit of Dr Suess for the youngest. I was really impressed by the child-swap facilities. Emilia hates dark rides and it was great that we were all able to take turns riding whilst she waited with one of us in a designated area. Disney World - take note!
We headed back to HRH and got changed and headed for Margaritaville. I LOVED this place. The Margaritas were great, fun atmosphere and good value food!
From my photos, you might think that we just took Emilia with us. Unfortunately the other two were not as keen on posing for photos but I do manage to snap them later in the holiday!
The next day we were heading to Universal Studios and I was determined to ride Hogwarts Express both ways!
