:thumbsup2 Thank you! It really is going to be a great time! I'm barely containing my excitement! :hyper:

I hope you'll be doing a TR too. :)

I DO foresee a TR in the future! ::yes::

You scored California Grill reservations - awesome!! I'm looking forward to the re-open but have to wait until December.

As far as great spots to view Illuminations, the bridge leaving/entering France is where the Illuminations cruise boats anchor and has great views.

If I don't drop by before... have an awesome trip and I look forward to hearing about it. :)

*YES! We are SO excited! That's great that you'll be eating there in December! :-)

*I actually would not have thought about the bridge! Thanks for the tip!

FIVE DAYS TO GOOO!!!! :dance3::dance3:

So, I had this update all typed and looking pretty last night....and then my computer just randomly restarted without warning...It does the strangest things sometimes-I think it's got some Haunted Mansion ghosts inside or something...But, needless to say, my pretty update-gone :badpc: I gave up last night and just went to bed! Haha! So, here's take two!

Day 9-Departure Day

I'm already dreading it and our trip hasn't even started yet! :sad2:

Mom and I will probably get up even earlier and go for our last walk around the hotel. When we get back to the room, we'll make sure we've got everything packed and get Laura all ready to go.

Then we'll head down to the Concourse for our 8:05am reservation at

This is our last-day tradition! We've eaten here for breakfast on the last day for as long as I can remember!

We'll enjoy spending our meal with some characters-hopefully our first character meal went well with Laura and she'll also like this one! Fingers crossed.

From 2005!

And 2008!

Perhaps I'll get another kiss from Donald!

After breakfast, we'll head back to the room and get ready to check our luggage in to be transported to the airport. I also still haven't decided if I'm going to hire a limo...I'm thinking of waiting until we're there and talking it over with the concierge to get recommendations. I want it to be a surprise-so I can't ask mom for the company she normally used or she'll catch on!

We'll stow our carry-ons and make the most of those last precious hours in the World!

Based on how the plans stand at the moment, we'll all have one day left on our park hoppers. This isn't what we were originally planning, but since we won't use a ticket on our Downtown Disney/California Grill day, we'll have one left over to use on the last day.

This will also work out well with having to leave the park early the day before.

So, we'll catch the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom.

We'll hit any attractions we want to see again and do a last walk through the Main-Street shops.

Then we'll take our last look at the Castle and exit the park for the last time of the trip.

One last trip on the monorail and we'll end up back at the Contemporary to wait for the Magical Express. It should be arriving to pick us up at 2:30pm for our flight.

We'll get on the bus and be shuttled to the Airport.

If we do get a limo, we'll take the usual "limo-to-the-airport-picture" before getting in!

Our 2005 limo shot!

We'll go through security and probably grab something for dinner while we wait to board.

I was able to book John, Laura, and I on the same flight as Mom, Dad, and Buzzy into Atlanta! We all leave at 5:30pm.

We're scheduled to land in Atlanta at 7:04pm.

This is where we'll have to say “see ya real soon” to Mom, Dad, and Buzzy as we go our separate ways to our connecting gates. There will definitely be tears shed and hugs given. :sad1: We'll be seeing them again at Thanksgiving, so we'll only have about a month and a half until then!

John, Laura, and I aren't scheduled to leave Atlanta until 10:02pm. We'll probably get Laura something to eat and then change her into her jammies so she's all set to go right to bed when we get back home....hopefully...

Our flight is set to land at 10:46pm in St. Louis. We'll gather our luggage and make our way to the truck and drive home. When we get home, we'll put Laura to bed, and then fall into bed exhausted, ourselves!

And so our trip will officially be over.

The next day, John took leave, so we'll be able to spend the day relaxing, getting Sadie from the Kennel, and trying to beat the "post-Disney-trip-blues!"

Whew! There you have it friends, our daily details!! Feels good to have them done!

Now I can share some preparational items over the next few days leading up to our trip! There are some exciting tid-bits that I haven't mentioned yet, because I wanted to make sure the daily breakdown was done first! :thumbsup2

Toni-Marie, your last day plans sound wonderful. I love the tradition of your last breakfast at CM's (kind of like ours at the Plaza). Going to the MK for a few hours will be so nice, even if you don't hit many attractions.

I love the limo picture, and the picture of you getting a kiss from Donald.

It's really nice having those last day traditions-they're something to look forward to even though it is the last day.

I really am hoping this is how we keep the plans so we can spend those last few hours at Magic Kingdom! It's the perfect way to end the trip!

Thank you! :flower3:

Well, since it's officially Saturday here, I can say: In just THREE days we will be checking into Art of Animation and immersing ourselves in Disney magic!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Today, I'll reveal that we have decided to test the new Magic Bands!

I said in our Day 2 Plans that we were passing on them this trip; however, that has since changed!

I've had the option to customize the bands on My Disney Experience for quite awhile, but since we had decided to pass, I didn't do anything about them.

But then...

A little more than two weeks ago, UPS delivered this:

We actually received two; one for Art of Animation and one for Contemporary!

After they arrived, John and I discussed it again and figured that since we've received an “official invitation,” we'd leave it up to Mom, Dad, and Buzzy to decide if we should test them or not.

My original hesitation was based on concerns I had with linking the military tickets AND the four complimentary tickets Dad has. It just seemed like a recipe for problems.

But, I texted pictures of the Invitation to Mom, Dad, and Buzzy and asked them to read it and think about it again. They discussed it and concluded that it would, indeed, make things more convenient, as opposed to having to juggle cards and such.

Initially, we weren't sure how Dad would respond to the bands. He is generally a bit wary when it comes to new electronics and such. He just recently upgraded his flip-phone, that he had for eight years, to an iPhone 4. He is now glued to it! :rotfl2: It's pretty amusing actually; seeing him sitting in his rocking chair on the back porch; texting, playing Words with Friends, posting pictures on Instagram, and checking his items on the Ebay app! He loves it now!

But, it took him awhile to warm up to it, so we were worried about any potential frustrations the bands may cause. He assured us, he'd be fine; however.

So, all that said, I went ahead and logged into My Disney Experience on September 1st to customize our bands.

First, I had to link all of our tickets. This actually went fairly smoothly. They did a decent job, in my opinion, making this easy and outlining the steps well. I didn't have any trouble linking our tickets to the bands, so hopefully there won't be any issues once we're in Disney, either!

After our tickets were linked, I customized our bands-everyone chose a different color-and confirmed our address! Then we just had to wait for them to arrive!

I got an email on the 3rd that they had shipped and on the 4th UPS delivered them to our door! I was amazed how fast they arrived!

Here they are:

John and I were really impressed with the packaging!

Our bands! I love that even Laura gets one-of course, it's pink!

I am really excited we decided to get these and participate in the test. We only chose to test at the Contemporary since we'll only be at Art of Animation for one night and won't be visiting a park while there. HOWEVER, I just got an email today saying these bands are waiting for us at the resort, even though we never customized them... :confused3 I guess we'll see when we arrive...in THREE days :yay:

Once our bands were customized and in hand, the next task was to pick our Fastpass+ attractions and times. We decided to work them into our current plans where we could and not stress if they didn't work out.

I also found this to be a relatively quick and painless process. We were able to choose everything we wanted. We've picked the following...

Magic Kingdom:
Peter Pan
Princess Fairytale Hall-one for each of the queues
We were given a “bonus” fastpass for Journey of the Little Mermaid.

Epcot:
Soarin
Test Track
Spaceship Earth

MGM:
Toy Story Mania (we'll definitely get to ride it this trip! :rotfl: )
Tower of Terror
Rock N Roller Coaster

Animal Kingdom:
Festival of the Lion King
Expedition Everest
Kilimanjaro Safari

These are only for the first time we visit each of the parks. We'll pick for our other park days while we're there if we choose to.

We ALSO recieved our PhotoPass+ in the mail on Tuesday!

I ordered it pretty late in the game, because I forgot all about it! Thank goodness, while customizing the Magic Bands, I saw the Photopass icon on My Disney Experience and was reminded! So, I ordered it that night and was luckily still more than 14 days from our trip--but, just barely!! We all plan to share the CD among us after the trip!

This is something I'm REALLY looking forward to! We take A LOT of pictures, so it'll be nice having the Photopass photographers there to help catch the character interactions and to be able to add the ride photos! We also like to purchase the dining photos at Chef Mickey and Hoop Dee Doo, and having all those included in the price of the Photopass+ is a great deal in my eyes!

When there aren't photopass opportunities, I'm usually the "photographer" of the group, and as you've probably noticed, am in no way a professional :rotfl2: Though I have been getting a bit better! My previous point and shoot cameras, that I've taken on our trips, have just not been cutting it-especially at night or in low-light situations. So, as a wedding present, John got me this:

A Nikon D5100

And the lenses and filters

I LOVE this camera! It's been wonderful-especially when trying to photograph Laura--she's always on the move!! I am hoping I'll be able to get a lot of really great shots in Disney with it, as well!

So, now that our Magic Bands and PhotoPass+ Voucher have arrived, and we've chosen our Fastpass+ attractions, we have everything we need for the trip! All that's left is to finish packing and getting things done at the house before Tuesday!

Have a great weekend everyone! :goodvibes

I swear everyone did an update yesterday while we drove up to Milwaukee to go to the Zoo and meet a DIS friend.

Congrats on deciding to try the MB's. I'm still not sold on them and will be anxious to hear what you think.

I swear everyone did an update yesterday while we drove up to Milwaukee to go to the Zoo and meet a DIS friend.

It WAS busy here yesterday! We all just wanted to make sure you had plenty to read when you got home! :)

Congrats on deciding to try the MB's. I'm still not sold on them and will be anxious to hear what you think.

Thanks! I wasn't into them at first either, but seeing the rest of the family get excited about using them has helped make me excited to be part of the test. I still worry about them malfuctioning our whole trip, though, so we'll see. I'll definitely report back about them--hopefully it'll be a positive one! :thumbsup2

:dance3::dance3:TWO DAYS!!!:dance3::dance3:

As far as preparations go, I checked all items off the “to be purchased” list last night! I also checked everything off Laura's packing list today! We spent most of the day finishing some outside chores-cutting the grass, John had some landscaping he wanted to do before we left, and installing Laura's new car seat into the truck! She's officially outgrown the infant-carrier seat!

I'll finish up John's and my packing tomorrow, but there's not much left to do! :cool1:

Even Laura got in on the packing-action today!

Ready to get started filling her very own suit case!

But, first, she had to test it out!

Lets start with some jammies!

She was a big help...but then she got bored and climbed on my suitcase where she sat watching John and I for awhile.

While we're talking about packing, I thought I'd share some purchases we made specifically for this trip! Most of our pre-trip purchases were made for Laura this time around.

Normally, I get at least one new dress, but I forced myself not to this year since I had so many I'd worn only once that I'd gotten for our Honeymoon two years ago. Since I was pregnant with Laura most of last summer, I couldn't wear them, so they're almost new this year! :rotfl: I did; however, get a few fun new shirts!

The patterns are a bit more adventurous than I'm used to, but I thought they were cute!

We are all wearing a Mickey shirt on Tuesday for our travel/arrival day!

Buzzy's

Mom's

Mine

Dad's and John's

Dad's and John's are the same-we had a hard time finding any for men-everytime I'd check a store that I knew sold them, they were out....or had only smalls....

We're excited to meet up in Atlanta all sporting our Mickey shirts! :mickeyjum

Mom and I had way too much fun shopping for Laura! We found her an outfit for everyday in the parks! :rotfl:

A few favorites!

She'll be wearing the Cinderella our first day in Magic Kingdom and the Snow White our first day in Epcot.

Laura will be wearing the Minnie and Mickey shirt on Tuesday to match the rest of our Mickey shirts! The dalmation shirt, with red and white polka-dot bottoms, and the headband, were from Buzzy from Paris! That's my favorite outfit!

There are a couple other outfits, two swim suits, and a few dresses, as well!

Also, tonight, I'll share an idea I had for Laura's scrapbook type deal I will start for her after the trip. Since she won't really remember this trip, I want to create something that she can look back at when she's older. Buzzy and I always enjoy looking at pictures of our first trips-Buzzy doesn't remember her's (she was 15months) and while I have SOME memories of mine (I was 2.5years), it's still fun to see the pictures and such!

One part of this keepsake will make use of the “Customized Maps” we ordered. We chose all the attractions appropriate for Laura to be added to the maps! If you've never seen them before, here are two of them:

Magic Kingdom

Epcot

What I'm planning, is to use the little stickers they send along with the maps:

And mark Laura's favorite attractions after we visit each park. It's pretty simple and maybe a little silly, but I thought it would be a cute addition to some other ideas I have to commemorate her first visit after returning home!

It's my hope to commemorate all our family vacations for her (other than PA visits), so this will be a good start!!

I hope I didn't bore you too much tonight with my preparational rambles! And, now it's time for me to attempt sleep-I know I won't get any tomorrow night :rolleyes2 so need to try to get as much as I can tonight! If any is even possible! :rotfl2:

Hi friends!

WE LEAVE TOMORROW!!!! :jumping1::dance3::banana::mickeyjum

Just wanted to check in quick as this will be my last post before we leave the house in about three and a half hours to drive to St. Louis for our 6:00am flight!!!

We are all packed and ready to go!

John's backpack is missing from this picture, however.

I cannot honestly believe we are ACTUALLY leaving tomorrow to fly to Orlando! This trip has been in the planning stages for so long and was in question for such a long period that it almost feels surreal that it's REALLY happening now!

The fact that we are able to go on this trip reminds me again that we are extremely blessed. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to take this vacation with my little family, parents, and sister! I am really looking forward to making some amazing memories over the next 9 days with them! :woohoo:

I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to the readers that stuck with me through this PTR and appreciate those that posted along with me! There WILL BE a follow-up Trip Report when we get home and get settled. I'll be sure to post the link here for those that are interested in reading! :goodvibes

It was my hope to catch up on my subscriptions today, as well, but we were just so busy, I didn't get the chance! I will definitely catch up when we get back, however!

Have a great week everyone! :goodvibes

First and foremost have a magical time.

I live your tops and Laura's new clothes are simply adorable. But not as adorable as her.

Safe travels.

Hello friends!

We arrived home late last night and had a fantastic time in Disney! Our trip was very different from any before, but was great overall!

We had many laughs, some tears, some grumpiness, but lots and lots of happiness and magic all around! Our next trip to the World is already in the works!!

I'll start a trip report in the next week or so...once we're all settled back at home here and I can get some free time to get pictures uploaded and such!

In the meantime, I'll work on catching up on everyone else's reports! :-)
